|GoEagles997||I thought the termination fee was $350 for smartphones. Also, Sprint is running a promotion where you buy the phone for $199 (S4) and get the second for free after $50 rebate card. This is for S3 as well.|

Here is my experience,
got the phone month ago on original deal posted for T-Mobile,
don't try to cancel before 14 days period, tmo refuses and will tell you to go to the store where you will have to return the phone.
called back to tmo on 15th day, they will give you hard time get ready, some people will say you still have to go back to store, just hang up and call back until you get someone with brain.
now cancellation fee is 200 etf+tax, activation fee 36, prorated monthly bill.
After all my price is 490 which is still I am very happy vs 650 from tmo .
hope this helps

The salesperson said that I could keep the phone if cancelling after my trial period, however once I pointed out the line on the contract stating:
"If the subscriber chooses to cancel service, the phone must be returned in a complete, like-new condition with all accessories, box, and instructions in accordance with Wireless Advocates return policy in order to complete the cancellation process"
she gave me a dumb look and didn't sound all that convincing. T-mobile was also useless since they apparently have no record of this particular agreement available to their sales team.
I've attached a .jpg of the relevant portion. What do you guys think? Any first-hand experience with these terms would be illuminating.
P.S. I did NOT sign up for the contract because I do not want to be stuck paying $150 + tax + ETF and NOT have a phone when it's all said and done.

I went ahead and bought an S3 and S4 with this plan. However, activation is NOT FREE, it was waived after the second or third bill. Therefore, add +$35 per line plus $200 per line, making it roughly $405 less tax. Still this is a decent deal, as I was looking to switch to T-mobile and I'm looking forward to the cancelling come day 14.
Do you think T-mobile would allow be to turn around and sign up for a pay by the month plan right after cancelling?

|calisoldier83||Had anyone done this yet? I'm assuming you wouldn't want to port your number, so in order to do this I would essentially have to keep my current line for 14 days or port twice. I'm thinking about switching to T-Mobile and would like to take advantage of this deal.|

I too just talked briefly over the phone with a local Costco wireless advocates rep (in CA). She confirmed what others have said: you get to KEEP the phone as long as you don't cancel your contract within the first 14 days, and you have to pay a $200 Early Termination Fee.
She also told me that the cheapest plans are $90 per month. So I am expecting to pay $150 down payment + $200 ETF + $90 one-month service + taxes (probably on full retail value of $599).
I recommend spending a few minutes to read through your contract terms to be sure that you will not have to return the phone after you cancel your contract. I think it is likely that the online terms and the B&M terms are not the same. This is a great deal provided you don't have to return the phone and want to later downgrade to the "walmart" plan of $30/mo. Will update if I am successful (or if I even try ).

|hustler23||Yea, it would be great to know if the phone can be cancelled with only $200 ETF|

Has anyone successfully gotten a phone like this?
If so, how much did you pay exactly?
Was it hard to do?
Should I get the GS4 or wait for the Note 3?

|x2ruff4u||You guys are crazy. I would never pay more than $50 for phone service. I get unlimited 4G data, minutes, text etc. for $35|

|pitt23fan||Saw it asked earlier, but Best Buy WILL price match to Costco. They knew about the price before I even pulled out the print out of the total in cart from Costco website.|
