|puckerth||I've been shooting with the Sigma non-OS 70-200 for 4 years and it's been great. Better than Nikon? Likely not, but it was in my price range and I bought to shoot, not resell.|

So if I want this particular lens, used, where should I go ? Ebay bidding shows around
$900ish. So still just get a used one?

|ImmaSquashYou||why is everyone hating on jethrine? He simply said to buy a third party lens used and not new. If you're already looking to save money, buying a used third party lens will save you even more money. If you don't care about the money, then get the canon lens since its better. But i understand the reason of "buying new", but I do agree with jethrine's thinking. however, if no one buys new third party lenses, then there will be NO third party used lens for me to buy. So i don't mind people who are willing to buy these lenses in hope they will resell later|

|DarnelJenkins||I'm tempted. The reviews on the new Tamron 70-200mm vc are probably going to make me hold off and wait for a deal on that lens however.|

I know so many famous brands fanboys, but to be fanboys of third party stuff?
I like the idea having money in your pocket. You buy canon lens for $2500 and sell it for $2000 5 years later.
You buy this lens for $1000, you have an extra $1500 in your pocket with the lens, sell it later for $500, you then have $2000 in your pocket.
The different is, buying canon lens, you will have empty pocket until you sell it, buying sigma lens you will always have $1500 extra money ready to be spent in your pocket.
