|MisterRunon||in my experience, lenovo is the worst laptop brand i've had to deal with. and hell, i had to pay shipping for a repair with acer. im not talking about 1 incident, but i mean through all the laptops i've purchased from them over the years.|

|MisterRunon||man, my intel rapid start is not working.. went to look up the SSD partition, but it's nowhere to be found. i think they may have shipped me a laptop without the 24GB SSD drive.|

Got my U410 i5 with 6GB of ram and a 750gb w/24gb ssd last week. No wifi issues at all. Only downside is the wifi is only 2.4ghz and does not support 5ghz N. I decided to upgrade which was very easy. Installed a 256gb plextor msata ssd, and left the 750gb in as storage (enable AHCI in bios). Also installed 8GB of Gskill ddr3 and put windows 7 64bit on this baby. Had a few issues with the touchpad (it kept saying it was a cypress pad but it is actually a synaptics. if you end up switching to windows 7 make sure you download the synaptics driver off of synaptics site, do not use the driver from lenovo it does not work.
So far my only complaint is the smaller keyboard, I had to install a tool to remap certain keys and to disable a few keys because I keep hitting them on accident. Kind of strange having my up arrow key set as my right shift but it works
WEI scores are attached below with the plextor ssd/8gb of ram.
Spent an extra $250 on the SSD and 8GB of ram so in total a practically brand new Ultrabook ran me $600. Not a bad deal considering retail it is almost $1000 with this configuration.

i don't think i want to keep this ultrabook - i actually prefer my AO756 11.6" "netbook." will probably sell this laptop if no one in my family wants it.
contacted a rep, and this is the response i got:

I finally got the u310 refurb that I ordered a couple days ago (shipping address wasn't on file with my CC). I have to say that this thing is way better than I was expecting. I really like the keyboard, other than not being backlit, the touchpad, and the form factor. No problems with wifi here, here is a speedtest result over wifi N, I have FIOS 50/25 http://www.speedtest.n
Never used windows 8 but it doesn't seem too bad. The only thing I am left scratching my head about is this 24gb SSD... it doesn't seem to be utilized at all. Anyone have any input on that? When I look at it in windows explorer it's labeled as D and is completely free. Wouldn't it make more sense to install windows to the SSD?

I will try to get warranty registered soon Thanks and repped

Also, be sure to check your warranty and register it properly if things show expired or you'll have more hoops to jump through should you need any warranty service.

Anyone's bezel look like this? It's not that big of a deal but I'm trying to figure out a way to cover it. I know people make vinyl bezel covers for Macbooks but I haven't ever seen anything for Lenovo.
Also, does anyone know what the price difference between a refurb and scratch and dent for the U410 i7 3537 was? I know the refurb was $350, but don't remember what the S&D was.
EDIT: Spoke to Lenovo and although there aren't any of the same model for replacement, they said I could get a 10% credit back (before tax). I think $34.52 is a good deal, that'll make the total $334.89. I don't like the gloss anyway, so I'll probably pull the bezel off and paint it flat black. Not sure if I have a steady enough hand to trace the Lenovo and U410 labels to cover them with tape though, lol.
