I bought this from the same Newegg Ebay deal for $80+tax last month.
-Viewing angle always sharp but slightly changes color temperature pass 45 degrees.
-Contrast looks "washed" out-of-the-box due to strong backlighting. I was satisfied after calibration.
-No HDMI not a problem for me.
No complaints here, cheapest 1980x1080 around.

But like a previous poster commented, you don't want to have to invite people into your cubicle for them to be able to see what you're trying to show them.
A girl at work uses this to her advantage. She angles her panel so nobody can see what she's doing without stepping into her cube with her. And she never invites you. Really it's a good thing, since she has work that nobody else needs to see (private personnel data). And it saves us from having to buy privacy filters @ $90 ea. 3M makes a mint on those stupid pieces of polarized plastic.

LED is a lightning technology.
LCD is a screen display technology.
Most LCDs now have LED lighting behind the panel. Some older models have CCFL lighting. I still prefer CCFL lightning, but it does give off a bit more heat and cost a little more in electricity.
Though I've never seen a monitor capable of this.
