|Durandal42x||Thanks for the heads up. Didn't realize they were on-ear. No f-ing way.|

Seriously, on ear headphones are the worst thing ever and whoever invented them and continues to make them should be shot on sight. There is no reason for them to exist, period. And if you make headphones that are supposed to be over the ear, make them big enough to not friggin' sit on your ear lobes, the entire ear should fit inside with plenty of clearance. It really sucks, if I could put the UE6000 drivers inside another headphone I would but I don't think its going to work, I may just sell them. What a shame since the sound is so good.

This is for the 429's but the 439's have the same build so the instructions are the same. I used this video on my 439's and it worked flawlessly. I found that uncovering 1 hole wasnt a big difference and uncovering 3 holes made them muddy. Uncovering 2 holes makes the bass nice and tight and it gives it a good amount of oomph. Withthe 2 holes uncovered you will get seriusly amazing sound out of these for the price.

|nrnelson||Over-the-ear + Sennheiser! In for two pairs. I need a pair to take to work while I'm writing code. Ear buds always end up hurting after 20 or so minutes.|

|chinhster||vminnovations does accept returns but they charge a shipping/restocking fee! I ordered a set of cans from them but found a better deal on a different set of cans later. When the order came in, I didn't open them and started an return. At first, they wouldn't take them back until I explained to them they weren't open. They charged me shipping and restocking (I don't remember how much, I just remember I only got $40 back and I possibly paid $50-60).|

|spb37||I bought these from the vm sale. Experience c/w amazon review extremely good. Very comfy, don't leak sound. They are closed so expect a slight echo chamber effect vs open or ear bud style. Matter of taste, I prefer open (not so the people nearby). Bass compared favorably to skullcandy skullcrushers (which have built in subwoofers, bought for teenager on bf) but u can google a modification involving removing tape covering some vents that enhances bass further.|

This sound quality of this one should be at least on par or better than monoprice, but the comfort level should be a huge step up. At the end of day, it all matters how long a pair of headphones can stay over one's ears.

|kdiggz||I have the monoprice headphones. Can't decide if these are a big enough upgrade or if I should hold out for the ATH m50's to go back down to the $80 range|
