"smaller software library to choose from"
You are such a bullsh*t artist. iOS most certainly DOESN'T have a smaller software library. They have way more games and apps than any other mobile device. If you don't believe me, find android versions of games like Oceanhorn, Hearthstone, Star Wars knights of old Republic, Deus Ex the fall, the list goes on and on and on.

|deals2dream||i have ath-m50, are these any better than what i have? I also use Fiio E12 with my M50s.|

|dederpes||what benefit does plugging the 990s into a DAC have over plugging them into a mid-tier home audio receiver like the yamaha rx v473 ?|

|ZV3||Get the E12 amp and be done with it, cans like these respond well to a certain amount of power, more power the better to bring out the bass/treble/mids and details. Obviously you could run these on less power, but would not be getting anyway near the benefits from cans like these.|

|Stirlitz||ODAC should nicely power this 250Ohm version of DT900, and many other respectable headphones. Endgame solution without audiophile snakeoil.|

I've had limited time with them...hopefully this weekend I'll have a little more time.
Fiio E7 seems to drives them adequately for CD's or FLAC files...between 10-30 out of 60 max volume setting seems to work fine.

I received my 990's yesterday. They sound amazing! I had been using a pair of Ultimate Ears Ultrafi .10 IEC's and I feel like this is a significant upgrade in sound. Was a bit concerned that I might have to upgrade my headphone amp (old black box that I got from Headroom ages ago) but they sound great. The volume is very muffled when directly connected to directly to my PC or Samsung GS3.
Still tempted to upgrade to the Aune T1, but at least now I know I don't have to.
Very comfortable headphones too.

I got my DT-990 Pro yesterday. Fiio E7 seems to drive them just fine at volumes 15-20 out of 60. I'm not enough of an audiophile to know if it's too weak or there's something wrong with the bass or mid-range. Soundstage seems to be present from what I can tell.
I like how they sound compared to my ATH-M50. I'm happy that I have a good pair of closed and open cans now

|chodemessiah||Anyone use these with a Titanium HD? My ATH-M50s sound great with it but they don't need much juice to be driven properly. There's no dedicated headphone amp on the card but specs say it's rated for 330 ohms.|

|D Seeker||Eventhough I don't have these headphones, I'm pretty sure that there's no comparison to the beats studios. Beats studios are like novelties than real headphones. The noise cancellation is a joke, and requires batteries to work. Sound quality is about as good as a $50 pair of "xxx" brand headphones.|

|newcomer81||i have DT 770 Pro and have been very pleased with them. if i was in the market for another pair i'd jump at this since i have been happy with my other set of Beyerdynamics. those velour ear pads are so damn comfy|
