still have a rubbermaid 18 gallon tote filled with unopened ones
that defiant one (the one that takes (3) D-batteries) one is insane. the distance of the light through extends all the way down my street

|outdoor_man||Just ordered this. I'll see how it turns out - hopefully not like other reviewers|

|OJ47||I have had the same experience as most other people. It's overall a decent light and might be worth it for $5, but all things considered the $4 amazon/ebay Cree's are a better buy. The smaller sizes of the Cree's would work better for backup lights to leave in cars and as an EDC in pockets. I like giving the Modus to children because of the plastic vs metal construction, and its larger size does work to make it harder it lose. I've had some of the Cree's fail on me (one out of five, and after a year of use); whereas after 6 months the threading on my Modus ripped while changing batteries.|

|mkong||I got this last time it was front page, and the threads stripped on mine the first time I replaced the batteries. Just about everything on it is cheap plastic, and it doesn't hold up to much.|

|DamonNabru||Not sure if this works for everyone, but I got a popup that said 10% off first order if you Like Paydeals on Facebook. The promo code it gave me is PAYDEALS which took $0.50 off the total (making it $4.49).|

|Kaijura||I would not recommend the plastic one as the top snapped off 2 of mine when I changed the batteries. The metal ones are fantastic and don't suffer the same issue, the plastic on those model is a bit too soft and started failing at the screw point.|
