eBay is using big words but they can't force neither of you do something you don't want

If I recall correctly I remember getting warned multiple times by ebay that bidding on an item enters you into a binding contract if you win.
I assumed the seller would be part of this binding sales transaction contract as well...no?

|Binar||There's nothing you can do. He'd rather get a neg than lose money. Give him a neg and move on. You can't force him to ship it. He'll refund you for sure.|

Manifest received means he bought the shipping and the shipping company has the shipping info but does not have the item. (He can cancel and get a refund later if it is not shipped)
More likely scenario is that he doesn't want to let it go at the price sold. Other option is because he sold it for so cheap that if you return it due to defect then he would be out the original shipping.

|KTM19||Agree with the other posters above. It could be that the seller didn't get the price he wanted for them, so he is trying to cancel the transaction. If he still says he doesn't want to send them even after you telling him to send them anyway, then that is most likely the reason why.|

Thanks so much for the info and advice guys. It really helped me in understanding the situation and making the decision. ^_^
So in the end I replied to him with this:
Ah, don't worry about it. Thank you for being so considerate and letting me know.
Please send the ram sticks to me. I have programs that can test them on my system, and I can RMA it if need be.
Just send me a copy of your original invoice for your purchase of the ram please, in case I need to RMA.
Thank you so much!
This was the first time I won an auction on ebay!
It was a great pleasure doing business with such a kind seller like you.
I'll be sure to leave you good ratings! Please rate me too ^_^
wish me luck that all goes well ;P

This^ or he is out of stock. The email he sent you was just an excuse to cancel and refund the order

I RMA'ed Corsair RAM awhile back. As far as I remember, you just fill out a form and see if they approve you based on reason (they don't ask for invoice or anything). Once I got approved, they sent me a label and I sent it off. Received new sticks a few weeks later.
link for RMA is here: https://corsair.secure.
If I was in your shoes, I'd ask seller to send you sticks regardless with copy of original invoice (just in case if they have it), and see if RAM works. If he actually didn't test them and listed them on eBay knowing so, he had full intention of selling them as is. He just wasn't happy you got it for less than half retail. But your choice

|nnbadboy||it could be that the seller didn't get what he wanted for the ram. this could be his reason for returning your money.|

Thank you so much for the replies. I just have a natural tendency to be nervous and worry :/ can't help it.
Sigh but I really want these ram sticks. I'd be able to RMA them myself wouldn't i? Anyone have any experience rma ing 2nd hand (corsair) electronics?

|Ashvins||Yeah, why all the "help"s? If he refunds your money, game over. You can always leave him a neg feedback, but after that, move on.|

I wouldn't worry about it unless he's trying to refund you in another payment method than you originally paid with.
Here is a link about the manifest thing. http://community.ebay.

Is this a scam?! HELP! First time winning bid on Ebay, Paid, & Then receive a suspicious message from seller. HELP!
O great sages of Slickdeals I direly require your aid! Sorry I am not sure which subforum is best to post this thread.
I won my first ebay auction yesterday. Corsair 3x2 GB triple channel ddr3 1600mhz cas7 ram. for just $37.60 Great deal! Was so excited.
I promptly paid right after I won the bid. And then today I received an email from ebay that said the item is shipped. It gave me a tracking number too but when I checked it it said status: MANIFEST (what does that mean?)
Then later today I receive a message from the seller saying:
I actually was trying to test this ram but I do not have any triple channel systems. I am not sure if the memory is fine. So I am going to refund your money and send it to Corsair for RMA. Let me know if that is alright by you.
Is this guy trying to scam me or something............I don't know what to do! please help master shoppers/legendary bidders of slickdeals!
