Oh, if they make a retina mba it would cannibalize the 13" rmbp sales, you don't say.....idk why I've never thought of that.....lol....and BTW the mba would not take away professionals from the mbp, the screen is to small to actually do pro work for long periods of time at least IMO. I mean in a pinch it would suffice but come on sometimes I find it hard doing graph work on my 15" so I'd hate to have do it on a 13" .
the mba can be for some pro's though a compromise, but I think it caters more so to the average joe who wants a great product. plus the limits on mba configuration help keep users with greater needs flocking to the rmbp.

With Apple moving to Intel integrated graphics for all but the most expensive 15" MBP, pretty much the only difference between the MBP and MBA is the 100% sRGB screen (regular or retina). That's why they've been dragging their feet on a retina screen for the MBA - it would cannibalize their MBP sales among their bread & butter professional graphics customers.

|guanacux||For those of us that went in for the eBay bucks, we'll have to wait to spend that $100 when today is just $100 cheaper. I called and ask for a price adjustment and they said they could not honored it because this was a "eBay Daily Deal" and it was a special contract with eBay.... same difference at the end of the day.|

I used to be a hater, windows fanboy.... I still am but I have a Mac also and tbh it rocks! Apple builds for Apple and takes full advantage of its hardware, that's why iPads only have a gig of ram and run flawlessly.....I don't like iPads BTW, I do however like the mini.....honestly, I genuinely dislike iOS.
sure, you can get a cheaper PC for half but I highly doubt you will get the same experience. Mac keyboards are better in every way than any keyboard I've owned and the track pad, omg! it makes a difference...a huge one in my humble opinion. I love to hear people compare a mac, any Mac to one of the cheapo laptops its hilarious, apples to oranges pun intended. both serve the same purpose but one does it better and that comes at a premium. its like newspaper, you can wipe your tushy with newspaper or paper in general, it'll get the job done..right? and cheap! but wouldn't your prefer toilet paper lol.
and please stop with all the screen bashing, the screen isn't horrible, I have a retina 15" mbp and I'm considering an air. I've used the air plenty of times and the screen is fine, is it as pretty as my retina? no, but those extra hours of battery life surely make up for it.
