Help me receive all front page deals, hot topics and up and coming topics in my text messages on my phone
I want to get all front page deals, hot topics and up and coming deals sent to my text messages on my cell phone (iphone).
I have searched the forums for about three hours and feel just overwhelmed by the tons of non applicable information. You don't have to explain it if you can point me to a way to do it, including sending to my email account where I can set a filter to have them forwarded to my phone. That I know how to do, but I cannot get the deals to my email. Thanks guys and gals..... Dale |
Basically there is no way to get text messages to all of the above. Here are some suggestions though. First would just be viewing the mobile website -- The given link is broken --. Second would be using an iPhone RSS app to get the above three feeds (Front Page Feed [feedburner.com], Hot Topics Feed [feedburner.com], and Up and Coming Topics Feed [feedburner.com]).

Sounds great!
Very plausible....I will give it a try.

Would love it if the SD mobile page also had a column showing the Hot Topics (which appears on the right hand side on the regular SD front page). This is very useful information to know as topics start to buzz on new deals. That's the big reason why I cannot use the mobile page, because it does not fulfill that need.
If you ever add it, please let me know. :) |
I would just like to get a text message when something hits the front page. I always miss out b'c I can't check the site every 5 minutes...
A text for each front page deal would be awesome. Is there a way to do that? |
For now, the easiest solution would be to subscribe to our Twitter Feed [twitter.com] via SMS. We likely only keep it for FP and important announcements.

I think they loosened the FP bar around Black Friday. Before then I could have tolerated FP text messages but with all the FP deals these days it quickly became a nuisance. |
