RETIRED CVS Coupon DISCUSSION: questions, scenarios, & chat for ALL coupons (including Manufacturers) that can be used at CVS
This is the CVS Coupon Discussion thread for questions, scenarios & chat for all coupons (including Manufacturers) that can be used at CVS.

FAQ: Q: Will (insert coupon) BEEP? A: There are two types of e-mailed coupons. Product-specific coupons and $ off coupons. In most cases, product specific coupons will NOT beep at the register, regardless of whether you rec'd them in your email or not. On the other hand, $ off coupons WILL likely beep if you did not get them directly in your email. The cashier's screen will pop up with a message along the lines of "Coupon not valid for card scanned" Q: Will my cashier push a beeping coupon through? A: YMMV....that is up to the cashier/manager. Some users have reported that even if they have received a coupon directly from CVS, it still beeps, so CVS will probably push your coupon through as a courtesy to you. There is no official policy to push through beeping coupons, so DO NOT EXPECT THEM TO PUSH THEM THROUGH for you. Q: What are 12-digit and 13-digit coupons? What's the difference? A: A coupon barcode that has 13 digits is one-time-use. Once it has been used, it cannot be used again. If you try to use it again, the coupon will beep and the cashier's screen will say "Coupon already redeemed on [date]" 12 digit coupon are multiple-use coupons, and can be used many times. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: The following information is based on what the CVS register system will allow. Individual store policy is still YMMV. CVS Coupon Guide % off CVS Coupons - % will not be taken off of the amount of any CVS Coupon including $x/$xx and manually printed ECBs (either printed from register or from coupon machine), Quarterly ECB, Beauty Club ECB, or Green Bag Tag ECB used in the transaction - % is effective on some sale/ECB/clearance items 13-digit CVS q's -some expire promptly on expiration date given -one-time use only: once scanned, that particular 13-digit q can never be used again, even if you void the order & start afresh; on the 2nd attempt, register will say already redeemed on mm-dd-yyyy -$/$$ limited to one purchased-based coupon per transaction 12-digit CVS q's found in-store or in newspapers, magazines, and other publications -expire 15 days from expiration date given -limited to one coupon of the same barcode per transaction 12-digit CVS $/$$ q's emailed periodically -always beep as "not valid for card scanned" if you did not directly receive the email -often beep anyway even if you did directly receive the email -sometimes work without beeps if you directly received the email -most expire when they say; on a rare occasion, certain ones expire 15 days from expiration date given -limited to one coupon of the same barcode per transaction in certain areas -limited to one purchased-based coupon per transaction -see additional info here 12-digit CVS product-specific q's emailed -work without beeps even if you did not directly receive the email -expire 15 days from expiration date given -limited to one coupon of the same barcode per transaction 9-digit CVS q's from register receipt -work only on EC Card for which they were issued -expire promptly on expiration date given, and in some cases, at the exact hour/minute issued -limited to one coupon of the same first 5 digits (of the 9-digit code) per transaction -if used in a transaction that is then voided (so you get CRT back), next time you use it will beep "not valid for card scanned" even though it is for the right EC card. -if expired & beeps "expired" and you get it back, next time you use it will beep "not valid for card scanned" even though it is for the right EC card. 9-digit CVS daily recurring q's from price checker/coupon printer -examples: $2/$10 CVS Brand, $1/2 Gold Emblem Candy, $2 Gold Emblem Water 6pk or larger -work only on EC Card for which they were issued -CVS Brand $/$$ expire on the expiration date noted -CVS Brand product-specific q's are good though the very last expiration date that will be available. For example, if a $1 Skin Care coupon printed last week and is also printing this week, the last one of these will be issued on Saturday 4/17, good for a week from Saturday (4/24). That means that all of them you have will actually work thru the 24th. -most of the time, can use multiples per transaction... although you just never know with CVS... :) -if used in a transaction that is then voided (so you get CRT back), next time you use it will beep "not valid for card scanned" even though it is for the right EC card. -if expired & beeps "expired" and you get it back, next time you use it will beep "not valid for card scanned" even though it is for the right EC card. 9-digit CVS $/$$ or product-specific q's from price checker/coupon printer -examples: $5/$25, $1 Almay, $4/$20 Playskool, $2 Colgate Toothpaste -work only on EC Card for which they were issued -expire promptly on expiration date given -if used in a transaction that is then voided (so you get CRT back), next time you use it will beep "not valid for card scanned" even though it is for the right EC card. -if expired & beeps "expired" and you get it back, next time you use it will beep "not valid for card scanned" even though it is for the right EC card. Notes: -actual CVS q's begin with 4 -9-digit CVS q's from your receipt or the price checker/coupon printer are called CRT's -using expired CVS q's is YMMV, even if they work without beeps; some stores take them, some don't -exceptions may occur due to store-specific programming of their registers -exceptions may occur due to glitches in the system, especially on Wednesdays, but usually revert back by the following day -exceptions may occur due to cashier error ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What do I do if I've lost my card but have a phone number associated with my ExtraCare Bucks account? Check this post for more information. [http] Before starting a discussion about coupons , PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING: COUPON ACCEPTANCE As a general rule, stores should accept your coupons because they got you in the door and build sales. The official corporate policy is that CVS will accept one Manufacturer's coupon and one CVS coupon per item. Extra Care Bucks do not count as a coupon for purposes of this rule. When you get into the fringe scenarios, however, it will vary by district, store, and even by cashier. Some stores have been instructed to "take all the coupons a customer has", some limit you in various ways. Some stores allow multiple "Save $X on $YY purchase" coupons, some don't. Some stores allow the use of coupons past their printed expiration date, some do not. Please note that the newer Save $x on $yy purchase coupons limit you to 1 per transaction. USAGE OF EXPIRED COUPONS Historically speaking, CVS coupons do not beep* until 2 weeks after the expiration date printed on the coupon. Some stores take the coupons until they beep, even if it is past the expiration date. Other stores have a policy to NOT take coupons once they have expired. So, until something changes in their system, a $/$$ coupon that is expired will NOT beep until it is 2 weeks past the expiration date. Given that, please calculate what 2 weeks past the expiration date is and don't ask this question in the thread. Since some stores have a 'no expired' coupon policy, and we do not want to abuse their kindness in giving us these coupons, please don't be upset if your store won't take the expireds. It happens. Key here is that once a CVS coupon expires, it is even more YMMV than before. * "beep" : When the CVS register system alerts the cashier that the coupon was not accepted, we refer to this as a coupon that "beeps". USAGE OF "Save $X on $YY purchase" COUPONS - STACKING AND SUPERSTACKING The official corporate policy as of Apr 2010 is that you may only use one of these per transaction. Using more than that is YMMV and depends on your store's policy. An item that is FREE as part of a B1G1 by CVS cannot be counted towards your minimum purchase required to meet the $xx. This is to keep consistent with how CVS would officially count how much you spent when there is an ECB deal that requires buy $xx and get $yy ECB. (See below for example): ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When CVS has their "Buy x of product, and earn $xx ECB" promo, and the items are on sale B1G1 Free, do both of them count toward the promo? If the ECB deal is buy a specific amount of $$ in order to obtain the ECB, then only the one you pay for counts. The free one will NOT count. If the ECB deal is buy a specific number of ITEMS in order to obtain the ECB, then both items will count. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In other words, we need to have the minimum threshold for the $xx be calculated in the same exact manner as how CVS would do it when they (CVS) offer a B1G1 sale. Any deal scenario or discussion that talks about using these type of coupons without the total being greater than the minimum threshold of each $x/$xx coupon and/or counts the free item towards the $xx minimum threshold for a CVS B1G1 sale will be deleted. SlickDeals does not condone fraud, the discussion of fraud, or anything resembling fraud. Any scenario where you try to cheat CVS by inappropriate purchasing & returning, using coupons to buy gift cards, or any other fraudulent usage will be removed and you will be subject to warnings for illegal activity. WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR COUPON BEEPS Please do not call the CVS customer care line to complain because a store didn't allow you to stack multiple $X off $YY purchase coupons, or because they wouldn't let you use an expired coupon, or because they wouldn't let you use a coupon for a 6.0 oz colgate on the 4.2 oz package (that coincidentally is generating ECB), etc. DO NOT EVER CALL ABOUT STACKING $x/$xx COUPONS! CURRENT KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH PARTICULAR CVS COUPONS *will be updated as issues are reported* SELF CHECKOUT Q: What does "coupon not accepted" mean? A: This is a generic error message that appears when a coupon is either expired, requires cashier intervention (such as a BOGO coupon that requires price input), has already been redeemed, etc. In order to use the coupon, a self checkout attendant will have to enter in the coupon him or herself. Q: Can Self Checkout scan all types of coupons? A: Generally, self checkout can scan any manufacturer or store coupon, however there are some technical and policy limitations. Technically, not all machines can yet scan the new GS1 bar codes (the long bar codes). This can vary by store or even individual machine. Machines also might have trouble reading fuzzy or mis-sized bar codes on IPs. Try to print from a laser printer whenever possible. Occasionally, coupons will scan but will then throw the error, "unknown barcode scanned". This message requires an override from an attendant. This has happened before, for example, with RIB coupons. Policy-wise, CVS may program a store coupon so that it cannot be scanned without cashier intervention. For example, a "free 14 ct CVS bandages" CRT might not scan at SCO so that the cashier has to verify that the free item is in fact a 14 ct CVS package of bandages. Q: How will BOGO coupons scan at SCO? A: Answer needed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following is an example of starting a discussion about stacking $x/$xx coupons and should be avoided, instead one should please read the above about coupon acceptance instead. The official policy on coupons as far as SD goes is that we allow all coupons to be posted with the following exceptions: • Altered coupons - warnable offenseAs for the coupons posted early, as long as they are hosted by the retailer on the retailer's server, we'll allow them. As a compromise, we'll hide the posts until they are 'officially released', but we will allow them to be posted. [quote] FYI - the B1G1 Guidelines - Keep in mind all sections that address "14" coding B1G1 Coupon usage guideline. Guidelines Regarding a B1G1 manufacturer coupon with a regular manufacturer coupon. Thanks to another user who helps out in the RA threads for the template on the guidelines. A) B1G1 coupons say buy X get Y free. So if the coupon is coded "01", the coupon is actually only applied to the one that you get free, in this case Y. There is nothing to say that you can not use another coupon on the one product you are actually buying, in this case X. So YES, you CAN use a $1 off 1 coupon on X. However, If the coupon is coded "14", then the coupon attaches to both items and you will not be able to put an additional coupon on the "X" item. Example: Buy 2 HE products use one $1 off 1 HE and 1 X B1G1 This is YMMV according to many stores and only allowed if the coupon is coded "01". If the coupon was coded "14" then you cannot do this as the register will beep. Asking the cashier to force through that coupon in this situation will be considered illegal activity and will not be allowed here on SD. The manufacturer can choose the coding in this case ("01") or ("14") and this determines if the manufacturer will allow you to do the above or not. B) Using the example above you can NOT use a $1 dollar off 2 items because that coupon applies to 2 products. Example: Buy 2 HE products and use $1 off WYB 2 HE products and 1 X B1G1. <--- This is illegal activity. OK to do: If you buy a total of 4 products you can use 2 B1G1 coupons + $1 dollar wyb 2. In this situation you have 4 products: The 2 B1G1 coupons applies to 2 products and the $1 dollar wyb 2 applies to the other 2 products for a total of 4. Again, this can only be done if the B1G1 are coded "01" -- if they are coded "14" then you would only be able to use the 2 B1G1 coupons only. This is YMMV according to many stores. C) The rule of thumb is that you can NOT have more coupons than products. Example: Buy 2 herbal essences use two $1 dollar off 1 product and 1 X B1G1. <--- This is Illegal activity There is too many coupons for the number of products. See number 1 for the correct scenario. D) WYB VS. AND: If a coupon says Save $1.00 on X WYB Y, you CAN use a coupon $1.00 off 1 coupon on Y. If a coupon says Save $1.00 on X AND Y, then you can NOT use another coupon on either X or Y because the coupon applies to BOTH products. Example of an abusive situation: You cannot abuse the system like this: Buy two of product x and use a coupon of $5 off 2 products of x AND also the $1 off product x just because the $5 off 2 products is only coded for 1 product ("74"). |

I didn't use the one before -- I let it expire. Without TUMs MQs or CRTs, it isn't a good enough deal for me. (maxed IP & used all my newspaper insert MQs). I am going to let this one expire as well & hope I get it again for use on Sat. With luck, I'll get new newpaper MQs for TUMs :D |
Kinda off-topic. Lost my ECB card but have my number. I read once that you can generate and print out barcode based on the number and you can stick it on another card. Does anyone have a link to such a barcode generator that would work at the scanners?
TIA. |

I'd never set foot in a CVS again without the coupons. |
I had always worked under the impression that places like CVS would give you some kind of bonus for transferring or bringing them a new prescription. I can't seem to find anything like that online. I'm pretty sure that this means that CVS only does it occasionally (or with a coupon that is not active right now), but I'm hoping somebody will tell me that it's actually so commonplace that they just do it and I don't need a coupon, etc.

Or it could be just another sign of the times. I am finding a lot of deals that didn't happen this year the same way as last year. For example, no MM Kellogs this month, no free backpacks at Staples and generally very slow CVS and RA summer seasons Hoping the anemic deals turn around soon! |
Hey y'all. I already got 6 jumbo diaper bags on one of my cards and the tally shows as bought 3 need to buy 3 more for than 2 weeks now. Bought the last 3 during the gas deal(slip-ons) 2 weeks back. So my question is, is there still hope for me to get the free diaper CRT or do I have to call customer service? My card is unregistered, can I still call CS? Any help will be appreciated :) TIA.

So my CVS account online has been royally borked for about a month, since they did the upgrade to their website. The "Rewards & Coupons" section only has been showing my Beauty rewards since the upgrade. All of the other deals I do are missing, the ECBS I'm earning, etc are gone, whereas they used to show up there. I also have not had anything to "send to card"
I've heard that others have had a similar issue. My question is, have any of you tried contacting CVS to get this resolved and has it been resolved? Also, does CVS have an email addy for customer support? TIA for your help! |

I'm not sure how what the CSR said can be true, because nothing comes up in the "Recently Redeemed Coupons". I would assume that if that section is there, it's supposed to be used for something....probably ECB redemption right? |

In the IP thread, there's a q for $1.50 off 1 Aquafresh training toothpaste 1.5oz or training toothbrush. Combine 2 MQ's with the CRT for $5.50/2. According to CVS.com, there's a kid's toothbrush for $2.59, which would make for a $.32 MM. I'm not 100% sure it is the "training toothbrush" referenced on the MQ yet though, so be sure to pay special attention to this...could be a deal breaker. Be sure to rep libby and TinCanLarry for the q links! Quote:

Anyway, I'd suspected this when folks were giving mixed reports on whether this CRT beeps - thanks for confirming, zguru! But yeah, I mean no disrespect to anyone who put forth their theories that different stores treat the same CRT differently - but in my experience, I just really don't think that's the case. I strongly believe that the same CRT will always behave the same way at any CVS store at any given time (the free bandage CRT auto'd for overage on Sunday but prompted for price on Monday - but it did the same thing for anyone using it at the same time); what determines whether it beeps or autos or whatever is what you buy and what other coupons you use in the transaction. The most common reason that a CRT will beep for someone but not beep for someone else is that the former used another coupon in the transaction that conflicted with it - usually a $/$$. The reason for this is that the CRT is usually coded like a $/$$ itself, so it requires a minimum purchase amount - for example, maybe the Starburst CRT is coded as $4.29 off $5.98 worth of Starburst; what this means is that if you're using, say, a $4/$20 in the same transaction where you're buying 2 bags of Starburst, your subtotal has to be at least $25.98 for both the $4/$20 and 1 Starburst CRT to go through beeplessly. (That's just an example, I don't know if the Starburst CRT is really $4.29 off $5.98 Starburst - but I definitely think it's $4.29 off some minimum amount of Starburst.) If anyone ever reports that a particular CRT beeped for them when it didn't for most others, I always assume it's because the CRT is coded like a $/$$. (Obviously CVS coupons can also beep if they're not valid for the card scanned, but that of course wouldn't ever be the case for a CRT that the card received.) I assumed this for the Starburst CRT too, even before zguru posted what he did above, which was why when I used 2 of my Starburst CRTs to buy 4 bags of Starburst in a transaction with a $4/$20, I actually did it with a total subtotal of over $60 - since I figured $40 would be more than enough for the 2 CRTs to look for. Happy to report that that was beepless by the way - so it's not so much that the CRT beeps if used with a $/$$, it's that it beeps if there's not enough above the $$ for it in the transaction. Thoughts/confirmations/rebuttals? :) |

Then CVS after taking one step forward, took one step to the left, then drunkenly staggered a few paces back. I presume because of people printing out ECBs and either mistakenly or purposely used those ECBs twice [using the ECB that printed out at the bottom of your receipt as well as the printed one]. But I guess the enigma that is CVS will never be solved. Then select ECBs and offers tracked and showed up. Then they "sent Qs to your card." Then they had the whole "secure" Q stash that is CVS's IT department was abused by SDers and others looking to see what they could do to manipulate URLs to see what was possible. So now we stand here at the end of August scratching our heads as tallies get erased, weekly deals arbitrarily becoming monthly deals, and like a meth addict looking for one more bump, faithfully click into our emails daily to see if CVS is going to dish out one last hit, maybe that elusive unicorn, I mean $/$$ Q might come back alive. But stay strong! PS. I contacted CVS about a gas card that didn't print, and they said it'd take 48 hours to print out via the coupon machine. It's been over two weeks. I probably should call back right? I didn't realize it'd take 48 days... Quote:

I called a couple weeks ago about an EB that didn't print, and they told me I'd get it in 48 hours too. Nearly a week later, still no EB, so I called back and the guy mumbled out loud some notes that had apparently been jotted down in my account and was like, "OK, I see you were supposed to get a $5 EB, it'll print for you within 48 hours" - and I did get my EB when I scanned my card 2 days later...though I do wonder why it wasn't really sent the first time, even though they had notes on it. |

What I'd really like to see done in the future though is instead of simple reports of "I bought 2 Starbursts and the CRT auto'd for $4.29 for me" or "I bought 2 Starbursts and the CRT beeped," it'd be awesome if we could all give a little more info, like "I bought 2 Starbursts and the CRT beeped, but I used a $4/$20 first and only had $22 total worth of stuff" - would be insanely useful to help figure out what we all need to do for beepless transactions. :) And not just for the Starburst CRT of course, but any CRT in the future where it may be coded like a $/$$ - I've found that maybe a quarter of all generics (the CRTs you get daily) seem to be coded that way for some reason. I've almost never had a non-generic CRT beep on me (excepting the Lumene CRTs, which I've still never figured out ) - but a significant percentage of the generic CRTs seem to be coded like $/$$'s and thus conflict with real $/$$'s (or might even beep if your subtotal is too low, even when you buy the exact items specified on the CRT). As examples, the CRT for Gold Emblem chips a couple weeks ago was coded as a $2 off $2 chips, it seemed (so if you used, say, a $4/$20 in a transaction that included a bag of chips, you actually needed a total of $22 in the transaction to have the chip CRT go through beeplessly); and the $2 off Starburst nearly 2 months ago was so annoyingly coded that if you bought only 1 bag of Starburst (which was on sale for $2.50) and tried to use the CRT, it beeped because it was coded as $2 off some amount that was higher than $2.50. One caveat though - if you're using a $/$$ that beeps for any reason other than "not valid for card scanned" and has to be manually pushed through, it shouldn't affect your other coupons at all - so if a CRT goes through beeplessly afterward, it doesn't prove that it actually worked in conjunction with the $/$$, since the $/$$ was manually entered. On the other hand, I've found that using a $/$$ that beeps because it's not valid for your card will still make the register think that you used the $/$$ for some bizarre reason. I don't know if this has changed recently, since it's been well over a year since I last had a $/$$ beep that way for me (I avoid using the "generic" $/$$'s posted here if I didn't receive them directly), but if it hasn't, then if a $/$$ beeps not valid for card, it still deducts $$ from the subtotal for your other CRTs to look at - even if the cashier refuses to manually push it through! Very very stupid, but that's always been my experience anyway... |

My CVS only had a 2+ Kids toothpaste ($2.67) and 3+ Kids toothbrush ($2.59) - both were BOGO50% (although I don't think they count for the gas card deal; isn't that just Oral-B this week?), but the coupon is supposed to be for the Training line, which my CVS didn't seem to carry. Anyway, just a head's up on that before others get too excited about this deal! |

So with all this talk of CRT's being scanned as $/$$, what are the ramifications? E.g. Will I be able to use multilple $2 Nature Made CRT's if my total is high enough?

Also, I got the following nongeneric CRT's yesterday:
$10 Bayer A1C SelfCheck Monitor $5/2 Cold or Flu Relief |
Just used 2 $2 CRT's (together with 2 $1/1 NM MQ's from RA's website) in a transaction that had $5.49 of vitamins and $3.99 of other items and everything went beepless!

If you're asking how it was discovered in general that some CRTs require a minimum purchase amount - well, just astute observations over many transactions by many SDers, I'd say. :) Like zguru did this week, many of us have experimented with varying combinations of coupons and then observed what beeps and what doesn't - and it seems to be a pattern that some daily CRTs require a minimum purchase amount (though it's impossible to tell what that minimum is for each of these CRTs, other than through trial and error - and reading what other SDers have reported, of course!). I'm not sure what you're particularly worried about with the Starburst BOGO CRTs though? I certainly didn't mean to make anyone panic over these CRTs! Anyway, unless you're using another $/$$ in your transaction, I think they should all go through fine and autodeduct $4.29 each if you're buying 2 bags of Starburst per CRT - the coupon is coded as a $4.29 off $$ Starburst, but the $$ amount seems to be less than (or equal to) the actual cost of 2 Starbursts, so there shouldn't be a problem if you're not using another $/$$. If you are (e.g., if you have a $4/$20 or $10/$50 or whatever that you also want to use in that transaction), just be aware that your Starburst CRTs might beep if your subtotal is barely above the $$ required for the other $/$$, in which case the cashier might enter the sale price of the Starburst instead of getting it to autodeduct $4.29. Does that make any sense at all? :scratchh: If I'm being confusing, feel free to PM, and I'll try to clarify! |

I think my Starburst coupon beeped for price, because I saw him looking and he took off $3.39. All they had left was the tropical flavor.. I hope they're not gross!

Starburst CRT did not beep today and took off $4.29.

CRTs today:
All expire 9/4. |
that $5 off $50 seems to be a weird CRT. $50 in one transaction on those products??

overage at self-checkout
Has anyone been able to combine an MFG and a CVS store coupon to get overage at self-checkout without beeps? I'm interested in the Skintimate cream shave deal starting on 9/4 and have a few $1.50 Skintimate coupons that would yield 51 cent overage when combined with the $1 CVS coupon. Thank you.

I just checked my CVS account and I have a $4/$20 Q YEAH BABY!!
|
I have a few questions about the use of the % off coupons which is all that I have gotten lately. I tried searching for some guidelines in the coupon rules thread and couldn't find anything. I know I have read some things but have never used one before so didn't see much reason to when the $/$ were available.
So Friday I decided to try using one that was emailed to me, 20% off. I knew it only worked for non-sale, non ECB producing, etc. items so I was buying an item that I needed that was regular price. I was also buying some other items using coupons and paying with ECBs. I did NOT use a coupon on the regular price item. I was watching the screen and first it took off the 20%, but at the end, it voided that amount and took off less. The cashier said it was because I had used so many coupons. Was that really why? Should I have just bought that one item separately using the 20% off without using any coupons? I would have still paid with ECBs so would that cause the discount to be reduced? I am confused and thought maybe others that have been using these could clear this up before I use one of these kind again. Also the coupon does not state that it is a one use kind, and mine doesn't expire until tomorrow so could I use it again without beeps? |

And I think I know the answer to my second question about using the % coupon again. When I checked my online account to see if I had any new coupons, I found (under redeemed coupons) that I had redeemed the 20% one so I guess it will definitely beep if I try to use it again. It's really not even worth the effort as I would be paying with extra bucks so would get hardly any discount. Thanks again for letting me know it's the EBs and not the manuf. coupons that reduce the amount. |
sorry to check in after long time. No $/$$?

But a couple people are reporting receiving $x/$xx coupons in their e-mail today, so couldn't hurt to check there. I have not received one via e-mail as of today and not for a couple weeks at the Magic Coupon Machine, but for the first two weeks of August I got at least six $10/$50 coupons at the Magic Coupon Machine. UPDATE: Just checked my CVS account and I have a new $5/$30 coupon -- it says "Just for You" -- that can either be printed out or sent to card. Seems a lot of CVS shoppers were receiving multiple $x/$xx for a few weeks this summer but for the past couple weeks posters here have noted a rather sudden dearth of $x/$xx via e-mail, Magic Coupon Machine as well as the $4/$20's that were being printed in newspapers/magazines for a while there. |

Depends/YMMV, but lately, it seems most people have been reporting they beep "not for card" at the register. I haven't seen one posted (that stayed posted) for quite a while and I've not attempted to print and use one that wasn't sent to me directly in a couple years. |
Finally got a $5/30 in my email. Lots of free goodies to use it up on.. :)

Wondering if it's worth a call to CS? Not sure they can do anything and I do love my store most of the time. But, they're going to be printing free coupons all week and have no product to fulfill them.. |

I honestly can't remember if I requested this free sample from CVS or not but CVS sent me Poise free samples in the snail mail. It came with a $2/1 CVS Q for any Poise Houseglass Shape Pads (exp 10/15/11), barcode starts with # 4.
I have got to start maintaining a list of samples requested & received... |

If only the state of CA was forcing CVS to give out $2 Qs for expired Qs lying around the store. I've found so many of those $2/1 CVS Q Christophe Exp 7/31 on those large ads hanging around. Mysteriously they all disappeared when they were clearing out the volumizing shampoo for $2.xx, but magically reappeared after the prices went back up to $8.xx. |

One of my fave cashiers literally ran to me as I walked into the store yesterday. She was exclaiming, "look! I found coupons for you!" I looked at them and didn't want to burst her bubble, but they were totally expired, lol. |

In other less useless news, I found a tearpad of $2 off any Visine q's stuck to the shelf next to the visines in my local (southern NJ) CVS Monday. If you have a 3 off 15, or a 5 off 30 q, grab 4 x $4.99 visines (do 2 orders with 3 off 15 q, or 1 order of 8 of visines if using 5 off 30) = 15-3-8x2=$8 for 8 visines + $10 gas card, or 30-5-16=$9 for 8 visines & gas card (using 5 off 30). The tearpad q's have all kinds of extraneous verbage about 'only redeemable at cvs stores' (but clearly marked and coded as mfc's), and some new kind of visine product (but q clearly says 'valid on ANY visine). I used 4 in each of 2 orders w/o beeps, so definitely an mfc, not a 1 per order cvs q. |
the $2 off Visine tearpad is not for the cheap-o Visines

i dont cvs much (mostly RA) but i did notice something of interest. on monday i used the self check out machines at one cvs and since the coupons were higher than the price of the item, the system let me deduct the extra amount on tax. then i went to 2 other cvs and the self check out machines refused to take the coupon and i had to use the man cash registers.

All other Starburst have been ringing up as 2 for $6 as the prices $3.69 [regular] and $2.31 [to get to $6] So perhaps you bought the jellybeans which weren't 2 for $6? |

I used 3 CVS $1/1 Orbit Qs and got .66 OV. I have an MQ for $1.50 off 2 diet cokes and 2 orbit that I bet would work with the CVS orbit Qs but I haven't tried it. Since DCs are $1.59 the final cost for 2 DCs and 2 orbits is $1.24 ($1.59x2=3.18 -.44 OV - 1.50 MQ). I also got 2 joy cones clearanced to .25 each and used a $1 off 2 joy cones WYB ice cream. I got an ice cream sandwich for .69 and it worked without any beeps. Has anyone seen slimfast peelies or Qs anywhere? There were none at CVS. |
Is it still true that you can "use" 4 off 20 coupon sent to the email one per store per day for up to 48 hours? TIA

am having h*ll of a time spending ECB
lost card-spent 2 days searching every folder, pocket, purse to be sure lost went online and ordered new one, printed temp went to store Sat night and they couldn't access my account with Temp. Didn't remember phone # attached to account but we tried 3 that it might be. went home, looked up phone # and went to another store. Had gas voucher exp 8/29. They still couldn't access account but gave me gas card went home, printed the entire page with my account info. I hope they can access card with the number-now the new number (sure looks like the same one as my temp card) Didn't have much time, only a busy cashier on the whole sales floor so I skipped it. I have 6ECB exp 9/2. I had a decent MM deal for Sat night but now nothing looks too interesting and I can't get my red box Qs to help out. I'm stuck at home all day (thurs). If I call CS, think they'd re-issue the 6ecb? I have a lot more ECB but hope to get access to my account or new card by expiration. moral of story: scan card and save a copy on hard drive!! |

The no begging rule has been in place for a couple of years or so, so I'm not sure why you think that is a change? We are still free to share links to $/$$ CVS coupons...it just seems that CVS is putting an end to multi-use generic links like we used to post. |
