Typing this up from the HoJo across from disneyland. using the four day tickets and had no problems with them. They didn't ask for any sort of ID.
One difference between this and the other passes, I don't think this one includes an ear;y entrance day.

Can these be upgraded to an annual?

+1 Also, would the value be $200 or less because of the gift card?

vudabu 01-04-2011 07:38 PM

Less. They had this deal for about a year, maybe. I did buy this last June and to upgrade they do deduct the gc amount.

inbead 01-04-2011 08:18 PM

Not a new deal. But the trick to use it is to buy this package and save the gift card for later. On the last day of your use (4th day) use the pass ($151 credit) plus your $50 gift card so a total of $201 credit to buy the annual pass. You get your 4 days (use them on days when the annual pass is blocked) and then purchase the annual pass for the next full year.

Keep in mind this pass expires on May 31, 2011 but another one will most likely come around later.

Swift562 01-04-2011 08:21 PM

So how much more would it be to upgrade to the annual pass??

same que here

vudabu 01-04-2011 08:32 PM

depends on the pass you want. say if it cost $300, you hand over the pass and pay the remaining balance of $150

Tattva 01-04-2011 08:34 PM

Am currently looking for 6 tickets to disneyland... Are there any current deals that anyone is aware of ??

That's not quite right, or atleast not how Disney World does it. When you try to upgrade, they will make the first day of the pass the first day of your 4 day ticket use. So you use your ticket the first time on Feb 1st and the last time on May 1st, when you do your upgrade to a year pass, it is Feb 1st to Jan 31st. It doesn't start a year after the upgrade date.

Interesting. So Disneyland CSRs will let you upgrade your 4-day pass even on the last day, huh? Don't plan to go to Dland this year but that's good to know, thanks. Though I still don't understand why we have to use the 4-day pass on annual pass blackout dates in order to do the upgrade.

Edit:

Nevermind, just read the post above by ZoeBoe'smom and I get it now. Nice try though.

judgmental 01-04-2011 08:40 PM

craigslist has good deals!

squirty 01-04-2011 08:49 PM

Do they check id at the gate or could 2 person potentially use the same pass on different dates?

You don't have to use it on the blackout dates, it's just that you can't use the cheap annual passes on blackout dates, so you might as well use the 4-day pass on those days, the best of both worlds.

I bought this pass in September and went to DL for 2 days - on the 1st day the lady at the gate said we should fill out the back of the card with our names - we said OK but never did, on the 2nd day they didn't bat an eye. So I still have 2 days left and I'm giving them to some family members to use. HTH

rittlette 01-04-2011 08:55 PM

I was going to ask the same question, Dland is SO expensive, but I would love to take my girls. Sharing would be great with a friend.

Anybody else have the same experience? If so, i'm in. Would love going twice, but 4 times is a little too much for me.

They did not check any of our ID's - there were 3 of us and like I said - we were told to fill out our names on the back of the pass - but you can always do that in pencil or erasable pen.

Dozens 01-04-2011 08:59 PM

There is no way to be certain, however most people do slip by without an ID check.

Here's what the back of the pass looks like

squirty 01-04-2011 09:12 PM

I ask because Universal studios ask for ID AND a fingerprint scan. It's like going through immigration.

I don't know. The body cavity searches at the border are much more friendly.;)

Disneyland is suppose to be doing that soon.

That'll stop the guys on eBay who buy the multi-day passes and share them with their customers for the day.

Just buy it on eBay for the one day park hopper for $50 or less.

Twompers 01-04-2011 10:20 PM

Just used this package. You just walk up to the gate and they DON'T check ID. great deal!

We bought these 2 years ago. They got a little prickly with us twice. We used two days, and then shared the 2 days with other family members. They almost didn't let us in... although it was the lady at the ticket counter that told me ANYONE could use the pass.

It says it is non-transferable, they probably won't check ID, but they could!

handymankev 04-05-2011 08:56 PM

I bought four 4-day parker hopper tickets from Costco over the weekend and used them yesterday and today (April 4th and 5th). I have a few notes that I think would be useful to everyone:

1. They are available online at www.costco.com, but it will take at least 5 working days to arrive, so plan ahead.

2. I didn't plan ahead, and I checked out my local Costco store last week, but I didn't see any of those 8.5x11 cards showing the Disneyland 4-day hopper package. I called customer service, and surprisingly they said that they have 70 available, so I went there and asked one cashier during the checkout, and he and another guy went to look for it. Sure enough they are available, and those two guys were discussing how great a deal it is and they both agreed that "Those are good deals ... They will be gone quick. I got to get some for the families ..."

3. I checked at the annual passport counter and sure enough, they confirmed that I can upgrade to any annual passport, and I will get $151 discount. Not sure if she meant on the last day or with one day left, but I am planning to upgrade on the next visit just to be sure I won't loose the discount. The least expensive annual passport is $184 with 160 days available for visit, so that will be only $33/ticket more to upgrade. More packages are available here:

Have fun! I sure did with my family, and my wife couldn't be happier :-)

shaorinor 04-05-2011 09:04 PM

Dunno if it's my costco in Irvine, but I see this all year round...they always have it.

greg0ire 04-06-2011 07:32 AM

ditto
