These seem to be pre-orders until the revised chipsets start rolling in. Still worth it for those who can wait a couple more weeks. Great hardware for the starting price, but It has no Operating System. You must customize it with an OS selected or supply your own

Can you put the specs for the price IN the posting? Your title is misleading to what you actually posted and you didn't put the total price for this setup that you have.

This is the standard price. It has been like this since they started carrying the np5160. The cash rebate also isnt new, and I would suggest paying with a credit card instead and getting the extra protection.

It's $745 for the base specs with a GT 540M and dual core Sandy Bridge i5 2520M 2.5Ghz, no OS included in the price.

Yes but the specs in the POST do not match the title, and therefore are misleading. There is not price in the post for the specs posted. Ya?

Edit - Op changed it

And? This laptop is amazing value. Just because it isn't $1000 - $250 coupon doesn't make it any worse of a buy

I have some experience with Sager / Clevo, great quality in their builds. Got an 8130 on order now.

Also wanted to note, xoticpc has EXCELLENT customer service. They are available at all reasonable times, and will be willing to answer any questions you have about their services. When you click their live chat button, you can type in what rep you want to talk to, and talk to the same person every single time, they will get to know you. A+ company

I'm not saying its a bad buy, sager/clevo machines are usually superior in build quality, and cheaper then retail name brands. And I have one on preorder, It's just this is slickdeals in the hotdeals section.

And the first thing in the hotdeals rules post is:

Before Posting
I don't want to discourage people from posting deals, but simply copying/pasting regular sales aren't real deals. Get a feel by searching through the forum of what are good prices for the items, and only post if its cheaper than the going price.
So... see my problem with it?

Finding a Win 7 upgrade disc on the cheap isn't too hard. If you install it twice, once so that you have a base OS that's on a 30-day trial, and then a second time to activate the keycode, it works the same as a full version.

I've seen two posts for Sager laptops, one that looked like it was in a case of a '98 laptop, i.e. looks like it would set fire to your pants should you put it in your lap.

Anyone with prior Sager purchases care to elaborate?
