Where did you find an HDMI port on the DInc? The USB port supports a composite TV out cable that you can purchase.

Yep, for sure. Other than the camera button, exterior features are the same for both phones. And the pack is specifically for both Droid X/X2.

Its a good deal, but the review indicated if you have a case on your droid, that it wont fit in the docking stations with the case, that is a no go if you have to keep taking the case off the phone to dock it.. of course the hdmi cable is nice.

I don't think I'd use this bundle too much. I have a long commute, but just my audio jack alone works fine. And I doubt I'd really use the HDMI cable. Nevertheless, the deal gets a thumbs up.

I've never used a case for my droid x, It just adds unnecessary bulk IMHO. It's a pretty sturdy little phone and has survived many minor and moderate falls without any scratches or damage. Knock on wood.

Will be using wall charger and car charger for my nexus S and my gf's galaxy S and the rest will go on craigslist for like $20 or so to recoup the paying price.

I will be getting my first smartphone in about a month. I'm assuming it will be some sort of Droid. Should I get this package now, even though I don't have the phone, or should I wait for a better package deal?

Is the car mount adjustable for different phone sizes? I want to use it for my G2x or Iphone 4.

a lot of android equipped phones (not just moto droids) use micro USB charger, which is the one included here, so you should be able to use wall charger and car charger if the rest doesn't work with your device. You can probably sell the rest of them to recoup at least some of the cost. You are paying only $20, so even if you can just sell the docks for $10 or $15, you are only paying for $5 for your car charger and wall charger.

So, go for it.

If all else fails, just sell the entire package on ebay for $40

It's inserts are specifically molded for the DX/DX2 units, so no. Besides, you wouldn't be able to take advantage of the charging port that is built into the actual mount.

I think it probably is if you don't tend to drop your phone a lot. I'm also buying SGP Steinheil Series Ultra Crystal screen protectors to baby my new DX2 for a while. The Gorilla Glass surface of my Eris has never been protected and it's flawless but I'm not ready to chance it with the new phone yet. :)

But when comparing the Atrix with Droid X2 ports in picture, i see the ports are flipped (Atrix has larger part of Micro USB facing to Screen, while Droid has larger part facing to back of phone. Same as for HDMI ).
So these docks wont suit for Atrix :(

Yeah I'm holding off on a phone too.. but this charger will work with almost all the 4g phones. The HDMI (from what I saw on Amazon) is the same cable for almost all the 4g phones and 3g ones as well.

So the car charger, house charger(hdmi) will still work

The dock is another story. Just sell that on Craigslist or a friend that has a Droid X :)

PER AMAZON ON THE HDMI CABLE: HDMI combines both audio and video into one convenient cable, so it's all you need to connect your Android Phone (ie: Droid X, Sprint EVO, Galaxy S) or any device with a Micro-HDMI output to your HDTV via the full-size HDMI input.

If that cable on Amazon works for all those phones, I would think that it will work for the 4g ones as well since they use an HDMI port.

I've been carrying an Eris around for almost 2 years and this is the first time I've heard it has Gorilla Glass. Never used a case or screen protector on it and, so far, it only has one hairline scratch. Looks like the X and X2 have GG too... http://www.corninggorillaglass.co...d-products

Yea good one, blame Amazon.

I have the car mount already. There is a little plastic nub in the well that holds the phone. It is in the back left. It is that nub that serves to hold the phone flush. And, It is that nub that gets in the way of my case. I just shaved that down with a razor blade and the phone sits perfectly in there without removing the case. YMMV depending on your case. My case is a thin black silicon case. If you have some super fat otterbox thingy...forget about it. :lol:

No go for me. The rep couldn't find my order even with the confirmation #. He asked for the part number and how much I paid. I told him 19.97, and he just said, "well, you already got a great deal on it, because that item retails for 79.97 (??)" I don't know where he got that number from....I saw 49.97 as the retail price - 30 online discount, so I guess he added 30 to 49.97. Anyway, he said it was on clearance/fire sale which is why "my discount didn't apply."

You can never have enough chargers. I just bought a used DX. I can use the dock and the HDMI cable. The rest came with the phone. I have another DX for sale with a bad ESN, so I will have plenty of accessories to give with it!

Will this only work for the Droid X and X2, or could other phones benefit from all or some of the package (like a Samsung Epic, for instance)?

EDIT: referring more to the dock and windshield mount, since the other stuff should work with just about anything (in fact, I already have a motorola charger that I use in my car for my Epic). I.E. fits out of the box, or can be relatively easily modified to work (without looking like it's a duct-tape-and-ingenuity DIY mount/dock).

I despise it running the factory stuff. But loading it up with Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread made it a LOT better. Still quite slow though. But highly recommended if you've still got a ways to go on your contract.

Actually this will be my THIRD droid x car dock. The suction on these cups fade fast as well.
The only way that I have found to help prevent it is to take it off of your windshield everytime you get out of your car :mad:

Really? I thought it was just because I got a cheaply made one. I only have it on the windshield when I use it which is maybe once a week. That's not very reassuring if an office VZW has the same issues. I don't know anyone with a Garmin with these type of issues with the car mount.

I've had mine for almost a year and never had a problem out of it. The only thing I noticed with these is the windshield has to be VERY clean or it will not remain stuck for long. After giving mine a thoruogh cleaning it has remained in place for several months with no issues.

That is very odd being that UV protection is almost perfect on cars now.
