WOW. 12gb seems a bit much?

anyone have any comments about this brand?

softspoken408 06-03-2011 06:41 PM

I've heard nothing but good things about this brand of desktop and that's the reason why I posted it. They said that this is kinda like the Vizio class of desktop of Costco, affordable yet reliable brand that nobody knows about.

Not bad. Not mind blowing, but if you *need* a computer with this class of processor and 12GB RAM (hint: you probably don't), you could do worse.

600 for a desktop with about to be obsolete processor and not a single special selling feature is not a deal.

this brand is just putting all of their excessive inventory of crap that aint selling ( HDDs and RAMs which obviously seem unnecessarily large plus the about to be obsolete proc) in an effort to actually sell them.

I wouldn't necessarily buy from Costco for a SMOKIN deal on a computer, but rather for a great return policy and customer service. Nice find OP!

softspoken408 06-03-2011 07:16 PM

geez, what is the meaning of obsolete these days? I bought an LG LCD couple of yrs ago and it looks obsolete compared to the LED's today, imagine 2-3 yrs from now, thanks for the input tho yarnim.

Sophophilic 06-03-2011 07:16 PM

How is this processor about to be obsolete? It's a generation behind but it'll play any game you'll throw at it for the next few years without a problem.

Examiner44 06-03-2011 07:27 PM

I'm surprised no one made the "I can build it for cheaper" comment yet. That's usually in the first few posts.

Thunderpants 06-03-2011 07:33 PM

How is a quad core an obsolete processor? WTF kind of crack do people smoke on SD?

Alazarin 06-03-2011 07:59 PM

I wish this was $100 less. Then it would be an amazing deal.

With a 2 year warranty and a 90 day return period, the brand shouldn't matter. ;)

I would agree with you if this were a first generation Phenom, but Phenom II is not obsolete by any means. I'm not sure what you expect to get out of a $600 computer.

Great deal for $600. If you don't want it, don't buy it.

Specs here indicate a 300w power supply. l

http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/...36831.html

Cnet lists it as a tower case but Newegg has it as a mini-tower. l
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro..._-83241039

Costco is throwing in more ram (12 gig vs 4 gig) and a larger hd (2 vs 1). lNewegg adds speakers land is charging $20 more.

Obviously, one would upgrade the PSU if adding peripherals like video cards and an additional hard drive. lPersonally, I like working with tower cases as there's more room to work with tools,
screws, etc.
