Here are this weeks Free after rebate items from Frys. Rebates can be found on the product pages and if you order something I suggest you at least save it to pdf or print the rebates out as to not forget. If you purchase online for in store pick-up, you should be charged for B&M ad prices. This can be great if you don't have alot of time to waste in the store. They will pick the items for you and will be waiting for you at checkout. Your card will not be charged until you pick up the items but make sure they give you the right product at the sale price.

Rebate tracking worksheet

Frys Weekly FAQ:
The ad prices listed are generally for in store purchase price only. The price you see on the link will not always be the price you pay in the store.
But items are sometimes available online for the same price as B&M and have free to very low shipping. Usually this will be software.

Buy online Pick up in store
You can use their online shopping method and chose IN-Store pick up and have your items picked out by their staff and ready to go at the counter. Your card is not charged by their system until you pick up your items (they give you up to 72 hours to pick up) and you get to pay the B&M (ad) price. The convenience factor on this is great but you are not guaranteed your items because Frys workers make lots of mistakes. If it's a popular items, you want to get there early to make sure you get your product.

Upgrade Competitive software rebates:
Upgrade competitive rebates can be done if you have a competitive or a previous version of the software. IF you do not have either, then you can buy multiple of the same type of software. For example, if you buy Kaspersky along with any other AV software you can use one software purchased this week towards upgrade/competitive rebate for the other. Same with video editing software or utilities software.

When ordering NitroPDF in combination with other software, shipping was not free for NitroPDF. Ordering it separately did achieve free shipping.

Is Norton the best out of all of them?

It is a matter of personal preference. I like Norton myself.

I believe most of these deals are for local pick up at their B&M stores.. unless you can find it online.

There is also an $25 upgrade rebate for Kaspersky Antivirus 2011. So, it's a money maker:

Another potential MM is TREND MICRO TITANIUM MAX SECURITY 3 USER. It has a $35 upgrade rebate:

It requires the followings but you may mention the original UPC is with another rebate submission or there may be a Proof of Purchase tab on the box to use instead of original UPC.

Trend Titanium Maximum Security 3 user Confirmation Email/Invoice/Receipt

Has anyone ever had any problems with the Nitro PDF rebates? In the terms & conditions, it states "Limit one (1) rebates per product per household." This is the exact same sentence used on McAfee rebates.

I have done the rebates on this product at least 6 times. Be aware the upgrade rebate requires receipt for prior product.

Hm... those 3D blu-rays for $25. I'm tempted to jump on Narnia and Rio. Is $25 a good price for 3D blu-rays?

I'm also tempted to jump on Uncharted 2 and God of War Collection for $20/each. Good deal?

Danzilla 09-02-2011 11:04 AM

While the Kaspersky AV 2011 is enough protection for most people, you might want to wait for the next time their Internet Security product goes on sale for free after rebate (every couple months, at least). There's ALSO the Kaspersky Pure Security 2011 (6491982) on sale in store for Free after rebate at Fry's this week, but it's $70 up front, instead of the $45 the AV version costs you, and PS has two rebates of $35 each, one of which requires a 'upgrade' proof (usually easy to get)

falleng0d 09-02-2011 12:07 PM

I often buy the internet security as well when its far, but to be honest, I find I disable most of the features anyways. I really only use it for antivirus so...

I was on the fence here since kaspersky is so often FAR anyways. I dont know how kaspersky ever makes money when they offer their product FAR every single month. That extra competitive rebate put me over. So essentially you make $20 or so(after tax) buying the software after rebates, lol.

Devistater 09-02-2011 12:20 PM

same here, I only like kaspersky antivirus, I don't want all the other stuff on my system.

Seems theres a lot of people that dont know this but, I am almost positive(as ive done it before) that the key codes from any version of antivirus works for any version released. Pretty sure the 2011 key code would activiate the 2012 software. I guess it is possible they stopped doing this but might contact them to confirm. Pretty sure that is how it works though.

Just download the 2012 trial from their site and then activate it with the 2011 key.

According to the wiki, is a MM because it stacks with the upgrade rebate? I doubt that I can do two rebates for one item, but just want to make sure before making purchase.

Rebates are processed by offer number, so if you've never done it before, then you will qualify if you send in the required materials.

This deal is a MM because there is an unadvertised, but Kaspersky-funded rebate that is active in this time period.

the rebate in the wiki is an upgrade rebate and just requires a copy of the upc, while the main $45 rebate requires the original cut out of the UPC, so in this case both rebates are valid.

I can't just "guess" if I've done a rebate in the past...
An offer number is what the processor uses and is what I use to keep track of claims.

yup, it was just a matter of time before they caught on as the big corporations have people that monitor SD for their sales.

also, some goody two shoes could have tipped them off. yes, there are bastards like that on SD.

as a well experienced rebater, while you used to could misspell you name or address and get away with it, those days are long gone!

Actually, technically the rebate does not say 1 rebate per household so.... I dont know. I personally wouldnt risk it with a $45 rebate but.... Most times when they mean 1 rebate per household, it says 1 rebate per person, household, address, etc.

I would interpret it as, you can have multiple rebates per household.

I also bought kaspersky pure from newegg recently that is FAR and it DOES say 1 rebate per household.

The pre-registration rebate form stipulates "Limit one rebate per qualifying purchase per unique product. Limit one rebate per household".

Rebate offer #10-37926
Validity dates:10/06/2010 to 09/30/2011

Both Trend Micro rebates require the original UPC. :( Nice MM if they had accepted just the POP and /or copy of UPC. Still it's FAR.

anyone notice that frys does not give tracking number when they ship your order even on something like a laptop

why is that? newegg is great about keeping you informed on each step of your order

Actually, Newegg does not consistently provide tracking information for free shipping. I sometimes get a USPS tracking # long after the item has been delivered.

Quick question for someone experienced regarding Kaspersky competitive rebates.

When it says "copy of the installation disk", what exactly does that mean? A photocopy of the actual CD? A burned copy of the actual CD? The original CD? What? Ive done rebates for 10 years but ive never opted for that option till now nor have I ever bothered to understand what they are asking for till now when that is all I have for proof.

Photocopy / scanned copy works fine.

Alright thanks. So they are just looking for a scanned/photocopy of the actual physical installation disc....

So I kinda jumped the gun on the [Norton Security/Ghost/Utilities $100 [frys.com] - 30off - 40MIR - 30UPMIR = Free] without knowing what the competitive upgrade actually was. Now that I know, I was wondering, with a lot of free anti-virus software out there already, could I somehow get my rebate using a free anti-virus software? Or do I have to buy more FAR anti-virus software to "upgrade" from
