Amazon Kindle Keyboard 3G WiFi In Staples for 159$ + Tax (On 189$) After Easy Rebate

Staples has the Amazon Kindle Keyboard 3G WiFi In Staples for 189$ with a 30$ rebate...

I agree tax kills the deal, but still it would be 10 or 15$ cheaper than amazon site..

Attaching the deal ad...

Also get a 25$ rebate with Nook Color after easy rebate..

Thanks for the post.

Just to make it clear, what you get back with the rebate is a Staples Gift Card (your post makes it sound like a regular check). For people who stop at Staples quite often, this is not different that receiving cash; for others, it might be an issue....

With the rumors of new Kindles not being able to surf the web on 3G may convince few people to buy the Kindle Keyboard 3G devices instead of the new ones.

good product~~

Dollar signs go on the left of the value.

One of my favorite quotes from a kindle thread or review:

Sure you can do it. But browsing the web on the kindle is like watching someone draw the internet with a pencil.

(It's a gosh awful slow browser and of course black and white)

Yeah but it's free 3G browsing in most countries. That is worth heaps.

I can't seem to recall, but are dollar off coupons fair game on Kindles?

Thank you. It is so freaking annoying to see 20$ all the time.

Free 3G browsing if all you do is like read a book on a webpage, or you won't even be able to actually do anything with the browser. And the new kindle touch has a 3G version for $149.

You will not be able to browse the web with the new 3G versions.

You can use the mobile versions of gmail or whatever to send and receive mail. It's not exactly perfect, but it's incredibly useful. You obviously have no idea what that would cost when you're traveling across several countries.

I do a lot just fine with the browser, including reading and posting on SD.

I saw it in the Kindle Special Offers thread, apparently it was confirmed by an Amazon spokesperson.

ky151 10-08-2011 09:39 AM

Quick google search came up with this article:

http://www.pcworld.com/article/24...touch.html

So apparently it's just the touch versions.

That says only the Touch won't have free global 3g browsing. It confirms that the Kindle Keyboard still will. It is a about face for Amazon. When they announced the Touch, they proclaimed that it would have free 3g browsing.

That may or may not be true. See this thread at Amazon.com Kindle Touch 3G - no more web browsing via 3G? [amazon.com]
