You forgot to put after mail-in rebate. These are bulky from 2007 versio, I believe.

MeatCatalog 11-07-2011 06:38 PM

This is a great deal. Last time this was $8 and it went OOS before I got to it. I need another thumbdrive for ubuntu. Is corsair good on rebates?

Steve0 11-07-2011 06:40 PM

Corsair never failed me with a rebate.

It says AR in the title.

Be careful with Corsair rebates...they have recently changed processors to parago (a good thing)...but you now only get 21 days from purchase when it used to be 30 to get your rebate postmarked.

NdeM 11-07-2011 08:54 PM

They post because they can but they really don't even take the time to read the title before posting crap....

And yes I have one of these and they are very good and this is a good price as well!

Is this the same rebate as before? Or is it a new rebate? Meaning, if i got this before, can i do it again?

The dates listed on the rebate just started yesterday, so this would be a new rebate which should mean you should be able to do it again.

"Purchase any of the products listed above between November 7, 2011 and November 13, 2011 at Newegg.com and Newegg.ca."

The only thing that tricks me up is the "Limit one card per product line per household." phrase. Does this mean per this rebate or per all rebates ever?

adw7677 11-07-2011 09:49 PM

Does anyone know the promotion number from the previous offer? If they are different promotion numbers, then we should be able to do both of them.

Could anyone tell me what is the website to put in the previous promotion number "CM11-28" ? I got in on the last deal but cannot get the rebate form. The one on newegg.com points to corsairrebates.com which is a bad site I think. I tried the other corsair rebate access site but it would not accept the promotion number "CM11-28"
This is my first time doing Corsair rebate so I am not familiar with how things are done with them...

dj-3lusion 11-07-2011 11:02 PM

slow & bulky but if you can get past those 2 things then this will be alright

The way people are talking about the "bulk" of this thing, I'd be worried about injuring people with it.

Or maybe people are overstating how bulky it is. That's possible, too. :bounce:

csacom 11-07-2011 11:23 PM

hard to beat at $7... of course that is what I thought when I got my last one at like $15

I am unsure why you would want the old form, but:
  1. Go Here [corsairrebates.com]
  2. Enter CM11-28 in the Rebate Offer Number/Promotion Code box at the bottom of the page.
  3. Select the first of the 3 rebates. The first one is the 16gb rebate, 2nd is 32gb, and 3rd is 8gb

If you wanted the new rebate form, enter CM11-184 instead of CM11-28

Divr 11-08-2011 12:45 AM

I have had one for couple years, and it went unrecognized by three of my systems. Corsair was quick to replace it. However, I had called the rebate center a few rebates back about getting a new rebate on a current promo that was different from the one I had originally submitted. It may have just been the person I spoke to, but I was told it was one rebate per product and I wouldnt get another rebate on the stick. So at least be prepared that you may not get it.

CheapBastardX10 11-08-2011 01:34 AM

Don't really need one but the price is just too good to resist. Thanks OP?!? =P

StraightenIt 11-08-2011 01:42 AM

THX . Never have issues with any rebates from Newegg suppliers. in 4 1 rep'd

ktscott01 11-08-2011 03:01 AM

For people asking about 2 different rebates the rebate form says

"Restrictions: Limit one card per qualifying purchase per unique product. Limit one card per product line per household. "

To me that means if you already received the 16G rebate you are done.

I'm pretty sure as with most rebates this means "one per particular promotion" not "one CMFUSB2.0-16GB rebate ever".

Not a bad drive. I've purchased several over the last couple years and only had one die and need to be RMAed.

stealthytx 11-08-2011 04:17 AM

I have a really old 2GB version of this drive, still works great! In for one.

Thanks, got one.

Killerz 11-08-2011 05:06 AM

Holy crap! Is this thing a USB drive or a dildo??? From one of the reviews: Cons: This thing is so fat and so wide that it is impossible to plug it and another USB device into side-by-side or vertical ports. I used to jam it it and it finally cracked and I lost all 16GB of data. The only way to use it and another USB device is to use this on the end of a USB cable. There were also some complaints as to the speed of these drives.

I am in no real need of a USB drive but for some reason am compelled to purchase a 16gb one anyway. I guess I will just wait for a rebate on a USB 3 one or jump when these are FAR.

Reps to op regardless.

mpetrovsky 11-08-2011 05:17 AM

Does not really need 16GB, but could not resist... Thanks OP!

I think it'll work better as a USB drive (too small for a purpose mentioned above), but it's up to you.

oakster326 11-08-2011 05:41 AM

got a couple on the past rebates...will wait couple more weeks...should be $5 by then way its going.

moonlightinred 11-08-2011 05:52 AM

This is definitely an old design from Corsair. I bought one for about the same price when they were newer and it was so incredibly slow that I flipped it on CL and ended up with a Lexar Firefly (which has been great).

That said, my girlfriend has this same drive (about a year old) and it's just as fast as any other, so maybe that was just a bad drive or a bad batch early on. Good price after rebate and worth the risk of it turning out to be one of the crappy ones.

Laser4G63 11-08-2011 06:01 AM

A solid drive, but the main complain ..this one has very slow writing speed, reading speed is ok.
I used it to play movies on my DVD player with USB port, but I switched to IOMEGA USB portable drive (500gb), cause it take forever to copy a large movie file....
