Should you order from Cowboom's Bargains?
 

Every day, cowboom (dealtree/bestbuy) has a new deal of the day.
Sometimes, the price is excellent, but on every thread, there are people asking "why they only have 2/5 on Resellers rating" or "What is the condition". Well, I placed an order for 25 ipods, and here is my impression.
First, when you place an order, your billing address must match your shipping address or your order will be put under review.
They will ship your items by UPS from their warehouse a day or two after you place the order.
What you get though, is a gamble.
Out of 21 Ipod Touch I purchased
5 came in excellent condition (with screen protector on, flawless front, and light scratch on back)
3 came in somewhere in-between (has some signs of use, but in good condition)
8 came in Acceptable condition (Has significant signs of wear, but fully functional)
5 came Broken ( 2 has bad headphone jack, 2 has bad LCD and a small chip, 1 freezes on you every few minutes)
of the 4 Ipod Classics I purchased
3 has significant signs of use
1 in good condition
of the 1 Ipod Nano I purchased
1 came in like new condition

so break down, this is what I received of the 25 units
6/25 in excellent condition
4/25 in good condition
10/25 came in acceptable condition
5/25 came broken.

in conclusion, you should/n't buy "used" from cowboom if:
As a Gift: No
Cosmetic conscious: No
Bargain/daily use: Yes

my brother bought 8, 3 has issues (1x dead headphone jack, 2x broken wifi)

Did they refund your money on the broken ones?

I have the same questions. What do you do with the broken ones? How good is their customer service when returning broken items?

The last mad man dash I made was on those two iPod Classics 6th and 7th Gen. Both have issues out of the box. 1 had a missing USB 30-pin dock cable the other one had one. the 160GB don't let me start. I've tried everything I know except open it to fix the issue. From my own conclusion the device is defective and should have never been sent to me or sold. Corrupted data more plagues it to death. The 80GB has a deep scratch on the glass you can see it when you turn it on plus that's stuck loading 14 songs only. Won't go beyond that. 160GB is very slow when compare to my brand new 2010 model iPod Nano Touch 16GB which I had never used until a long road trip it had just quit on me. Same issue corrupted data.

No more of these iPod devices for me. I'll stick with the Android Smartphone and Tablets for now. Don't have these issues. Plus that iTunes software is the worst.

As for cowboom, I had sent a complaint requesting 2x RMA # be sent. They did pickup for shipping. These two defective iPod Classics are going back today and I a m not buying from them again!
