I want to eventually get this game, but something tells me it will be this price or lower in the future and i'm in no rush.

Safe bet - I can pretty much guarantee that it will be cheaper than $50 in the future. Might be a year or 3, and it might even be a "game of the year" edition that has a bunch of extra songs that won't be released until 2012. Of necessity, though, it comes with hardware - a lengthy 1/4" plug to USB cable [amazon.com] that by all accounts is worth the $30 they charge for it. So I wouldn't expect to see new prices below $30 - $35 for quite some time.

If you're looking for a game, I'm sure there are much better values out there. If you're looking to start learning guitar, is saving $10-$20 worth waiting 6 months? 12 months? 18 months?

the producer said on the Rocksmith page that the PC version is being delayed until at least spring 2012 because the development team is being stretched too thin between the various console versions, DLCs, and title updates.

I think it's really because of the piracy concerns on the PC (just buy the cable and pirate the game). Ubisoft is big time focused on piracy (with all the antipiracy DRM they use). And if people can just get the cable and play a free game on the PC, that'll cause the console sales to drop. But that's just my opinion.

But the cool part is with the cable, you can use it for other PC things and possible freeware games. I'm sure someone will make something like frets on fire. I read that people were using the Rocksmith cable with GarageBand.

you could try printing out the web listing for it and see if that wakes them up. YMMV on that.

Yes I can confirm, just picked it up at the local gamestop. When he looked it up he told me $80 but it rang up at $50
