Great deal on this miter saw and stand! Thanks OP and repped!

When I was Miter Saw shopping last year, Dewalt was ultimately going to be my first choice. They are an industry known tool, of very high quality and are built to last. I have several Dewalt tools, and all of them have been well used, and still perofrm like new. No complaints.

In the end, I ended up going with a 12" Hitachi, mainly because of a SLICK deal that Lowes ran on it.

This deal is extremely nice, considering you get the free stand (valued at $200) + $25 off + No tax + Free shipping.

Even though I dont need this now, I am gonna throw the OP a thumbs up for finding a good deal, on a quality tool.

Could I get this deal but return the stand for $200? I already have a stand but am looking to upgrade my miter saw.

Anyone who has had this ship... did the saw and stand ship together in one shipment or separately? Separately would allow for the above from my understanding.

in past experience w/mamazon - free item 'll show $0 - guess you will be able to return it for price paid! / makes no sense?! or you may try to ebay or cl the stand ;) !

JustTheFastest 12-05-2011 07:46 PM

It may be possible to return the stand if it ships separately.

They may have changed things but last October I purchased a Canon DSLR that had a similar deal... $200 off a lens and a free $12.39 filter. All three were different shipping times and I was leaving on a trip so I asked on chat about cancelling my order so I could purchase locally. The camera was already too far through processing to cancel so it was shipped. The Chat CSR said just cancel the others before they ship and return the camera within the normal returns window if I didn't want to keep it.

The discounts were spread across all three shipments so here's how the cancellations worked:

Original Order:
$849.00 Camera
$213.84 Lens
$ 12.39 Filter
$1075.23
-$ 200.00
-$ 12.39
$862.84

Orders Separated at Shipment w/ Discounts Spread Across Items:
Shipment #1
$849.00 Camera
-$161.54
$687.46

Shipment #2 (Cancelled)
$213.84 Lens
-$ 11.71
-$ 38.46
$163.67

Shipment #3 (Cancelled)
$12.39 Filter
-$ 0.68
$11.71

Total Cost of Camera After Cancellations = $687.46

I'm not sure if it still works this way or if it was a unique situation, but the question above reminded me of this and I thought it may be one way to get a discount on the saw if you don't need the stand. Amazon still gets the stand back to sell at full price so maybe they just don't care if you return part of an order.

This is kind of what I was getting at...if I would be able to return the stand and recover $200 for it...or even if I could return the stand to a B&M store after the holidays for a gift card.

I got the stand today, so they are shipped separate. Expecting the saw tomorrow.

What did the shipping invoice you received with it show as the price and discount on the stand only? Thanks.

I'm pulling the trigger...worst case scenario I return it to a B&M and get a store credit.
