Here is some information that I have learned owning this tablet. I want to clear up misconceptions that I have seen. Previous versions seemed buggy but Lenovo has worked out many/some of them.

*This has a Lenovo "Market" and the regular Google Market.

* Turn off the auto brightness if you are having trouble with the device waking up from a sleep. Update 3.2 fixed this for some, but not for others.

* Make sure you perform all updates to the device before modifying setting/content. Upgrading to the 3.2 can erase content on the tablet! - annoying but now you know! There is about 3 system updates I had to perform.

* It comes with a USB cable to transfer information from your PC. The device itself does not have any USB port, but it comes with a cable to plug into the bottom of the device and hook up to your computer via USB.

* It has a micro HDMI port.

* The battery lasts about ~8-10 hours

* The speakers are quiet compared to a laptop and other devices but not as bad as some people make it out to be.

The screen seems very nice compare to other low end tablets. I Vary sharp and good for reading. t feels faster than my Toshiba Thrive 10.1" but not as fast as my Asus Transformer 10.1"

Use code 845633603 for a $15 visa gift card with $125 purchase (good through 12/5).

lixivix 12-04-2011 05:33 PM

Looks good. I don't like the color though. I think it has fewer ports than the standard for these but not sure yet. It has HDMI for sure. 32GB at this price is a good deal and the code posted for another $15 off and I am sure there are coupons for $25 and $30 off online...

sipora 12-04-2011 05:58 PM

PM with Staples, use $25 coupon?

Yeah, I was thinking of that deal as well, but something in the back of my mind says hold out a bit more...I'm itching to spend some $$ tho, since I missed $250 TF @ BB on BF.:bounce:

Got a link for the above deal?

tuffy 12-04-2011 10:35 PM

I've been researching this tablet and it appears the reviews are extremely mixed. Most common problem seems to be freezing which disappeared for some after an update.

I'm not a techy so please explain how much more of a PITA a micro USB (as in this K1) is versus a full size USB.

Thanks!

yes, there was a link on their home page to sign up for deals and get 10% off. it works on this deal, but for me there was tax, so it basically offset the tax.
sorry i don't have the link, but it was right on the front page so should be easy to find

inventix1136 12-06-2011 08:35 AM

Holy crap. The prices for tablets just keep dropping and dropping. For a 32 GB 10.1" Android tablet this is one AMAZING price since this price is lower than many of the refurb deals posted earlier.

Can't wait for the quad core tablets to show up.

P.S. Apple might be put on notice since it is getting harder and harder to justify to pay $450 for a 16GB iPad that has lower resolution and virtually no ports.

dj-3lusion 12-06-2011 08:42 AM

wow nice find... I dont need a tablet but thumbs up. This should be the standard of pricing 300 = 32GB not 400+ for 16GB BS. I wish other companies would follow.A good rule of thumb to follow is dont spend more than $300 for a tablet, otherwise might as well rock out with a effin high end laptop and call it a day. On a funny note I have enough OD credit to walk out of the store with this and smile without paying a cent. :) however I await something much bigger

......or Touchpad???

sunspotzsz 12-06-2011 08:55 AM

I feel sad for Lenovo, HP, RIM, they are losing money on these tablets.

Damn Apple!

I'm not seeing where the keyboard is free. You have to select it as an accessory, and it adds $63. Is there a code I'm missing?

Haywood.Jablomi 12-06-2011 09:14 AM

$339 with keyboard and free shipping from Lenovo:

Picked one up yesterday from OD. I wanted the option of returning it in case I found a TF at the same price. After shopping, it seems there aren't any decent cases for the K1. Neither otterbox or gumdrop make cases for it. Other than a lack of aftermarket accessories (vs TF), seems like a good deal.
