Chase Reward Points

Question: I have signed up for the $300 back Chase Freedom card, my question is do most people just take the 300 after the 3 months or do they save the points to use later on other deals (gift cards, ect ect)

I don't need the $300, would rather do whatever works out to be the best value

I save them only because at times, Chase will have good deals on gift cards to merchants at better than 1:1 rates. Also, like on Cyber Monday, Chase'll have specials where you can redeem at discounted rates for merchandise.

You don't lose anything by saving them. If you don't need it then don't redeem it.

Save them for deals. Sometimes they have 10% or 20% off gift cards or those Cyber Monday deals on merchandise.

Just save the points and wait for big deals that Chase offers. I didn't use my points for 2 years and I ended up with a Samsung 46" LED 3d tv and an iPad 2 with Chase's recent CyberMonday rewards program for under 100,000 pts ($1,000).

can someone tell me how I know that when I spend $500 they will give me $300? Is there a way to find out before I spend $500? I got my card today, activated it and don't see anything on the Rewards page indicating that I will receive $300 back when I spend $500.

when i called w/ intent to have them expedite the mailing of my new card, i asked and they confirmed i will get 30k points.

when i called to activate my card, i got a human..who explained features of the card and the quarterly 5% back items, and he helped me register for the current quarter on his end instead of me having to do so at chase.com. he also volunteered to tell me that i qualify for 30k points.

Did you sign up for that promotion? You can send them a secure message to verify.

The Samsung TV was about $600 in points which included a $70 adjustment from Chase and the iPad2 was about $390.

I still have another 55,000 points left which I will save for the next good promotion.

Im going to get my $300 for spending $500 in a few days, im going to apply it to my balence. Rather than letting the points acrue i'll spend them. Id rather invest my cash in the stock market than let it sit there earning no interest. There are a lot of bargains in the stock market now, could easily double your money investing if you can take the risk. Take a look at CEDC,DEXO,SPMD.
