use with Microserver as internal?

so, if cracking this open to use in my new Microserver n40l, is the warranty invalidated totally? any other good HD options around right now?

FYI: It appears that there is a 7200rpm drive inside of this external hard drive.

See the photo on this pdf that I found on Hitachi's product page: http://www.hitachigst.com/tech/techlib.nsf/techdocs/91CE145C27A9AA3B882578640081AD28/$file/TouroDeskPro_ds.pdf

I just ordered one.

Most of the Hitachi 2TB drives have decent reviews on Newegg (compared to Hitachi's past track record). However, there is one with pretty bad reviews http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6822145475 so I'd be pretty nervous I end up with that one. If anyone figures out exactly which model is in here, please post.

Just my research, and not a guarantee: All of the other Hitachi 2TB drives on Newegg, other than the one with bad reviews, specifically say 7200rpm. The one with bad reviews doesnt specify the rpm.

The external for sale on Newegg specifically says 7200rpm on the Hitachi website.

A coincidence? Maybe.

Great price. Got two of these from Office Depot. The drive inside is the current Deskstar 7K3000 64MB, their highest model. Same as the one inside the XL2000 that was on clearance at Office Depot not too long ago, and smaller size version of the one inside the 3TB Touro that was $95 at Office Max.
