Thanks - hadn't received this one in the mail yet. Don't notice too much of interest off-hand (seems like a lot of the same items are Constantly in this like discounts on Kirkland laundry detergent or disinfecting wipes). Have to soak through this a bit more.

jermoney 01-25-2012 10:21 AM

Good deal on the scotch shipping tape!

Thanks for the preview, I havent received the booklet yet either. I didnt see a lot of interest either. I'll check out a few of the items though.

I will miss the Starbucks Frap coupon when it expires in a few days...I bought my limit every visit to Costco this month.

That is something you should just bring from your home.

That printer coupon for the Officejet 8600 could be a good deal, but I can't find the price online or that they even carry it on Costco.com.. Anyone see the price or able to check?

Did the same with the muscle milk. And was thrilled that my store carried both the chocolate and vanilla.

do you have to sign up to receive the coupons or they're sent automatically? i feel like i never get them in the mail.

Visapet 01-25-2012 10:58 AM

I just bought 2 pairs of glasses, will they honor the coupon after and give me a refund? I actually got 2 with the $25 off the second already, so they might not let me.

I've heard different costco locations have different policies. My costco will refund you the difference if you bring in the receipt. If you don't have the receipt, they require you to re-purchase the item and then return it on your way out. Then they return the higher price of the two in the system.

Probably a thumbs up because of convenience. Someone already mentioned they never get the coupons in the mail...so they appreciate it.

Someone else said now they don't have to bother looking at it when they get home...so they appreciate it.

Maybe someone who is not a current Costco member will see something they like and want to join just for this one particular item...

Plus using this logic, why would anyone need to post Black Friday deals? We can look up the circulars ourselves right? :)

also it is a convenience....you could plan ahead your costco shopping for the forthcoming month...:) On some areas they receive the book earlier before everybody else.

Evo-IC 01-25-2012 12:10 PM

I actually scored on the mattress deal from Jaunary's offer, due to a display mistake by CostCo.

They had this deal:

Item #596794 NovaForm® Serafina™ Queen Memory Foam Mattress
Online price $899.99
Less -$200.00
YOUR COST $699.99

But in the store, they had it marked:

Item #596794 NovaForm® Serafina™ Queen Memory Foam Mattress
Price $699.99
Less -$200.00
YOUR COST $499.99

I took it to the counter, it rang up $699 + tax, I acted shocked and asked for a manager.
The manager went to the display physically and walkie-talkied to the cashier and the other manager waiting there with me that they had it incorrectly displayed at $499.
He told her to honor the price, have the other manager initial the resale deduction, and that he was having the display changed.

I ended up paying right at $540 or so and went on my way.
The mattress is exponentially better than our years and years old Miralux Honor spring mattress.
Best week of sleep my back has had in years.

Score.

Agreed. I hate the fact I have to pay $55/$60 for the privelege of being a member to shop...but I do. I paid $100 last time for the Executive membership...and you still have to clip the stupid coupons?? WTF!!

Also, some of the coupons indicate the final price, many don't. :vomit:

You only have to scan one discount and it applies the discounts to them all.

The membership fee is a large part of their profit, and helps them continue their awesome return policy. Not to mention it keeps the riff raff out (even though I got in).

hellagrant 01-25-2012 12:25 PM

I don't get the coupons all the time as well. It is wierd because we get it at our business almost every time, but at home(2 seperate Costco accounts) we don't get it every time.

As another poster had answered already you don't have to clip the coupons. The cashier would scan one and all of the discounts would come off.

It's always good to be able to check them well in advance. So you don't need to line up for adjustments later. Sometimes they come pretty late. Some people don't get them at all in the mail and have to wait until they can pick them up at the CS counter.

Also most of the time there are a couple of good deals at least for some of the people here. (Not always though, haven't browsed them all yet, but this time seems to be more meh, but still thumb up for the OP.)

Nice, gonna be a lot of tasy bites madras lentils in our basement. I think the discount will make them something like 1.25 a pack. Awesome little nukable work lunch with a piece of bread.

Are you kidding?! I shop at Costco 1 or 2 times a week and HATE it when I buy something that goes on coupon the next week. The scans save me the trouble of having to rebuy and return. I really appreciate these scans, reps to OP & poster who scanned to a single .pdf file.

It really depends on the store. For me in the bay area, I don't even need to ask them to scan it. They just scan it midway into the scanning process and if there is an eligible
discount, it'll automatically discount all of them within my purchase.

I have heard of some Costcos being Nazis and requiring you to have each coupon with you...it's the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Is the store that empty that you really need your customers to show every single one of the coupons that they want to use?

Seattle area Costco's make you tear out each one.
Quite annoying and silly.
We do self checkout to avoid that nonsense. Just wave the coupon book over the scanner.

For the Western States (CA, NV, NM, AZ) I vaguely remember there was one around July and then one for November ending around Thanksgiving and another one for December ending December.

For I while I thought the four states mentioned above are the only ones that have liquor coupons, but once I saw someone posted them and they were for Florida, same timeframe, but slightly different. two or three items or so.

Everett Costco lets me just hand over one coupon and then any of them will apply...we don't have self check out though. :(

Procter 02-03-2012 01:43 PM

Isn't the coupon discount automatically taken at the register? At least in East coast stores that I've been to (NC, VA, MD), you don't have to give them anything, the coupon book is more like a sales guide, and btw, the bar codes have been the same for individual coupons for at least 3-4 years, so even they want to scan, scan it once and those discounts for qualified goods should show up automatically.

It just seems to be YMMV for your warehouse whether or not they make you tear out the coupons or not. Mine used to be "don't worry about it, I already did the coupon" but in the past year they changed to making us tear out coupons. Something must have happened. Even now certain cashiers just use a coupon to scan the barcode (which is the same for all coupons anyway) to speed things along. But there are the sticklers and rule followers...

well, had been at least three years I think, but scanning each coupon doesn't help at all because all the bar codes are the same, so even if they want to take all the coupons, they just toss it into a trash can but scan one. Or that cashier must have some mental problem, wasting his/her own time.
