Hands down the best router I've ever dealt with.

why does it only have 3 ethernet ports? seems really odd when other home routers are all 4 ports, and a wan port.

I love my Airport Extreme. It has been running solidly for over 2 years and only required rebooting a few times in all that time. Simultaneous dual band is the only way to go if you stream or transfer files over your local wireless network and have other various devices that are g only.

Did anyone get their Airport extreme yet? If so, is it noisy like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX_Pfkmh8Xk or is it silent? I want to know because mines makes an annoying noise and i am heavily considering return it.

i got mine, it is noisy. disappointing, but i'd bet that the reason they have all of these 'refurbs' available is that they're reselling all the models that were returned by people dissatisfied by the noise.

i kept it as the noise wasn't a sufficient reason to pay double for a new one. also, it's my second one (i have a silent time capsule as a primary device) and I just use this when I turn on my Xbox right now.. which is far noisier than the airport itself.
