Glenmorangie "Astar" Highland Single Malt Scotch $64.79

I was searching for this bottle a good price for a while. Most places have it for about $80 or more with shipping. Charges tax in NYS. Even with tax and shipping, $64.79 is the best price I was able to find. Even at Duty Free its over $100.

Ships to only certain states. (Appears only to ship to NY state but lists prices of shipping to other states for some reason)

Certain States?

Says they only ship to NY... Bah!

Otherwise, always in for a single malt I haven't tried...

Seems to be $65-$75 in most stores.

Wow! After registering four years ago, this semi-hot scotch deal brings you to finally post?
Must be some good single malt, in for one and the first drink goes to TheMartian!

Been an endless cycle of lurk, want to post, crap can't log in, reset password, forget I want to post...rinse...lather...repeat.

On a side note, I just had a scotch tasting with 17 different scotches (6 featured with food pairings), so this is currently in my list of things I'm interested in.

$50.75 after taxes for in-store pickup. Looks like I'll have to drop by there sometime soon.

For those in New York State: If you do some shopping around, there's a place near Albany selling it for $45.69 + tax = $49.35. http://www.newtonwines.com/

You can buy 6 bottles for $263.94 + tax = 285.06 to save even more!

What were your findings?

I was recently introduced to Islay's. So far having tried Laphroaig's Quarter Cask and Ardbeg's 10yo, I thought the Laphroaig was far better (and my favorite single malt so far). I've otherwise only tried Glenlivet 12yo, Glenlivet 18yo, Glenfiddich 12yo, Balvenie 12yo Doublewood, Balvenie 15yo Single Barrel, Jura 16yo, and Maclelland Highland, Lowland and Speyside..

Speaking of Islay's, I currently have Caol Ila and Lagavulin open. I think I like Caol Ila better......bonus is that is much cheaper.
