You can get the leaf plus for $67.49 after 10% off (using coupon code ==> killcablewithleafplus )

I am tempted to get the leaf plus as well but I don't know how much better it is compare to the regular leaf. I currently have the original Leaf.

henucu 03-03-2012 08:21 PM

good deal OP.

not to TC, this $10 antenna works almost as good as the Mohu's.

this particular review says that the original leaf + the RCA AMP1450R digital amplifier works better than leaf+
http://www.amazon.com/review/R14Y...hisHelpful

that amplifier is only $13.52 on sears with free shipping so maybe you can get one and try to see how much improvement it can bring over the original leaf

Thank you for the suggestion on Amplifier...

I just placed the Leaf Plus and a 25 ft long high performance cable in my cart and used the coupon..my total was only $ 77.50...

firelikeiya 03-03-2012 09:08 PM

Wow, it's made in the USA... Even their cables are made in the USA.

Not a VHF antenna

boourns84 03-03-2012 10:04 PM

i got the mohu leaf antenna from amazon a week or two ago when it was a front page deal, didn't think it would be as awesome as it was. I get every channel in my area crystal clear, no noise or anything, which is messed up considering I have a $75 dollar antenna on the top of my roof that doesn't perform as well as the leaf.

billan 03-03-2012 10:26 PM

I picked up one of these for the Burbs and it worked fine, then my friend needed to get outta the cable contract and she used mine and was able to get all the major network channels living in Downtown San Francisco.

This is a great indoor antenna and is capable of beating most outdoor antennas.

An excellent product.

jedispork 03-03-2012 11:11 PM

I read somewhere that they are tuned for uhf and might not be that great for vhf stations. So this is really only the replacement for the bow tie part of a regular antenna. I might be stating the obvious but just wanted to let anyone purchasing know that they might have troubles with vhf stations unless they are very close.

I just invested $10 in your advice. As long as I can get the 4-5 main channels in HD (ABC, NBC, FOX, etc) then it's worth it. If it sucks then I'll shell out the extra bucks for the Leaf.

This is the way to rebuild America! Anyhow I am tempted in buying an antenna of this and trying it out. I am kind of tired to paying satellite and I would want to see what channels would be offered in my area.

I would love to test that one I want to see how much more channels I can get. Wish I would be able to test the antenna or at least if they had a site by putting your address to see what channels I would get.

matthimself 03-04-2012 02:58 AM

http://www.antennaweb.org/Address.aspx see if its even worth you getting any antenna in the first place....

Are indoor antennas good for manhattan?

rb240sx 03-04-2012 05:16 AM

"Performance: A surprising amount of study and engineering work went into the design of the Leaf™ TV antenna. It wasn't until one of our engineers decided to convert from cable television to over-the-air broadcasting that we realized that there were no high performance antennas on the market. The Leaf Antenna™ was designed by experienced antenna engineers who have been designing antennas for the US military for years"

so some businessman wanted to start an antenna company and hired a bunch of engineers without doing any sort of market research or trade studies. Then one of the engineers wanted to watch OTA tv at home, and found that nobody else makes an antenna like we do? uhmmm suuuuurrrreeee... I don't buy what they're selling with this bs.

Then don't and move on. Nobody asked for your unqualified opinion.

wfmetalica 03-04-2012 07:41 AM

Guess I will try it out and see if it picks up any more channels than the ones I am currently using, which give me about 8 downstairs and 6 upstairs... Two of which are Spanish channels. Not to mention the cat likes to knock the upstairs one out of the window, so the streamline design of this might be the best option for me. Thanks OP.

Did not see that one. Could have saved me a few bucks. Thanks.

I guess it depends on your location. I'm near the East River using RCA rabbit ears and I get a fair amount of channels.

Procter 03-05-2012 06:54 AM

A layman question here: I have Comcast internet and got the cable guy enable the TV signal when he came installing the internet. I don't have the box, so I have limited channels, and to be frank only those free OTA national HD channels are watchable, others are just some public cooking channels or even worse. The other day I went to a friend's and noticed he seemed to get even more meaningful HD channels with just an antenna. Is this really the case. We live about 40 miles apart (he's in northern VA and I'm in southern MD, both within DC-B'more area)

tvfool.com or antennaweb.org. Plan your antenna buying around if you have VHF low-band channels you want.

DB2, DB4, DB8 are 1000x better than these. "Amplified" is a complete waste of money unless the antenna is in your attic or outside.

Thanks I didn't know there was such website. I am not that experienced with which antennas. I am thinking of maybe buying buying a good antenna and getting netflix would seem to work good together.

Random Review:

I couldn't wait so I just went to Fry's to price match Amazon on this RCA ANT1650R [amazon.com] Amplified Antenna. Fry's wanted $80 for it but I got it PM'd for $35 (and I used a $25gc so I paid $10 for it). 3rd story in my townhouse, although higher up, probably had too much interference to get the most channels. I only picked up 2 HD channels (NBC and ABC) and a bunch of Mexican channels. Moved the antenna down to the 2nd floor tv and picked up 5-6 HD channels and a bunch of others. Had it pointed Southeast and ABC was coming in all pixelated. Rotated it Southwest and everything was crystal clear. I guess placement is everything.

I get about 41 channels with the antenna pointed to the north.
