This is the only current GC deal right now (?). I have a Vita and love it. If anyone is deciding, I'd suggest doing research if you really want the 3G version. Otherwise, you could save $50 out of pocket and go with the Wifi only version..

Seems like a good deal, though you may want to consider sales tax. With a 7.5% percent sales tax, that's about another $22 you'd pay versus if you got this on Amazon, it's just be a flat $300 but no gift card. This probably wouldn't apply to any states where TRU does not have a physical presence.

Amazon needs to match this...

About a wash for tax

littlebuddha 03-04-2012 07:13 PM

PyroFreak 03-04-2012 07:43 PM

ill wait for this to come down a bit more.

Is this really a good deal? My kids want this but I think I will wait till the holidays. I would think there will be plenty of good bundles with games for under $200 later this year.

It more than likely will drop by the time the holidays come around.
WIth that said, I'm loving mine and I have just the wifi version. I tether mine to my 4G phone for free if I'm not near wifi though.

I have a samsung galaxy nexus and use easy tether for my laptop. Will this work on the vita and how does the 3g vita work?

If you can put your tablet into a "hot spot" mode, as if it were acting like a wifi station, then maybe. Otherwise, the Vita doesn't have any Bluetooth capabilities for tethering or network sharing.

I thought I did not want this but now I see it can stream/play PS3 games?

Anyone using this with skyrim? Does it work?

Thanks!

schlomo 03-05-2012 07:01 AM

I don't think Remote Play works for any PS3 games right now. Only thing keeping me from buying the Vita right now.

LG-G3 03-05-2012 07:06 AM

I bought Vita few weeks ago but returned it, none of the games excited me.

I don't think that will work with the vita since easy tether has to be connected via usb, right?

I'm using a custom rom on my galaxy nexus that allows use of the stock wifi hotspot.
For the vita 3g I think it requires service with att.

Will Vita teather with Vista? Or Vice Versa?

kkel19 03-05-2012 12:31 PM

It does work, and it streams pretty well with PS3 games. You cannot use your PS3 while in Remote Play.

The only thing you can do while connected to a PC is using the Content Manager software to transfer saves to your PC for backup purposes.

You've tried skyrim on an unhacked vita and it works?

Because from what I've read so far, remote play is enabled on a game by game basis and a ton of games such as Skyrim don't allow remote play.

There is rumour of a PS3 patch that will enable remote play on everything and eventual full vita res support but who knows when/if those will come?

A lot of stuff on the net is old and the vita is new. If you are actually playing skyrim on an unhacked vita that would be cool.
