I bought my son an S7 Slim and it's very fast indeed - much faster than the CM7 modded Nook and I hate to say it but it's every bit as snappy as my HTC Flyer too....:omg: We only paid $117 shipped for an open box at Tech4Less which was a great deal in my opinion. You can do Skype on this and pretty much everything you need on a tablet including F & R Cams, GPS and bluetooth |

My HTC Flyer has a 1.5ghz CPU and this Huawei feels every bit as fast. A Nook Color even at 1.3ghz overclocked feels much slower than the stock Huawei |

I'd rather have the equivalent US built Korean or Japanese brand ;) |

BE CAREFUL BUYING THESE CHINA BRAND TABLETS! REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I bought 2 of these kinds of tablets from China and have been burned twice. The first was the Aishuo A820 that I got from Mcbulb about a year ago, this worked fine until a month ago. It no longer powers on. This was my very first tablet and I was going off of fellow member EVO-IC advice, he was praising this tablet left and right.Turns out he was probably getting kick backs from marketing these crap tablets on SD. The second tablet is the newly released Ainol Novo 7 Elf. I was sent a used tablet and this was shipped to me stuffed inside a bubble wrap envelope causing damage to the top corner of the tablet. It costs over $40 to ship back so I ended up reselling it on ebay for a loss. THESE ARE MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES WITH BUYING CRAP TABLETS TRYING TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS. YOU ARE GAMBLING BIG TIME BY BUYING ANYTHING FROM CHINA. SOMETIMES YOU WIN BUT MORE OFTEN THEN NOT THE HOUSE WINS. |
QA/QC issues with Aurora [slatedroid.com], it seems.

is there a tablet that has ics bluetooth and gps out there? Damn I wanna give them a try but none have them. One came close, the Zenithink c91 with a capacitive 10.1 screen. BUT NO GPS OR BLUETOOTH. Is adding bluetooth/gps via usb possible?
|
Why would ANYONE consider this thing, when you can get an HTC Flyer at Buy.com for $190? refurb (reports of perfect like new condition)
|
Are you guys seriously comparing a Huawei product to those no name tablets Evo-IC posted here? The company didn't become one of the world's largest telecom equipment and consumer electronics companies by selling crap. It's several times the size of Motorola mobility and HTC, and if you go by Engadget their latest offerings are just as good if not superior to products from the established brands. Don't bring up the Ainol POS that thing can't even access Market due to the weird CPU.

You are correct to have the idea that it's better to pay an extra $40 for the HTC Flyer over the S7 Slim. But you'd be incorrect to think it's a low performing cheaply built "Chinapad". If the S7 Slim was around the $100 mark (I paid $117 w/shipping for my sons) I would honestly say it's better value than a Flyer. (That's not saying it's a better product of course!!) My HTC FLyer is my favourite tablet to date. If you have a choice of a Nook Color or an S7 Slim - S7 wins hands down in my experience other than screen quality. |
