2048x1536 on a 7" tablet? Why?

SDELNICK 03-10-2012 06:11 PM

TD! Come on, stop posting this cheap POS! Especially when you can get a nook color for $140 after coupon from Staples!

This is actually a much better tablet than a Nook Color in almost EVERY aspect other than screen quality.

I bought my son an S7 Slim and it's very fast indeed - much faster than the CM7 modded Nook and I hate to say it but it's every bit as snappy as my HTC Flyer too....:omg:

We only paid $117 shipped for an open box at Tech4Less which was a great deal in my opinion.

You can do Skype on this and pretty much everything you need on a tablet including F & R Cams, GPS and bluetooth

Sorry, TD. The Ainol Novo 7 is a better tablet at a similar price. ( http://www.pandawill.com/ainol-no...55269.html ) also has ICS which is way better than android 2.2

josemedina1983 03-10-2012 10:31 PM

Processor: 768MHZ your better off buying a kindle fire.

you have been brainwashed if you think that that POS is any better than this. ICS may be newer but depending on how well its written for any given device it may not be better. those chinapads use their customers for R&D.

I would honestly like to know why you don't think the one in that link is better? According to that stats it has a higher resolution screen and a better processor. The lack of Bluetooth gives me pause, and the camera is lower res, but I don't care about that. Of course stats aren't everything.

Has anyone here actually used THIS [pandawill.com] one?

chinapads lure you with specs. those specs mean nothing if it doesn't function properly or even at all. they are hit or miss and a big headache to return. The price points are too close to proven tablets with real warranties purchased from stores with real CS and return policies. I would buy this tablet before I sent my money to china on a prayer.

also I will just ignore the guy above me since he probably thinks his kia is an american car.

This speed reference isn't comparable to an 800mhz WM8650 Chinapad its a fast processor.

My HTC Flyer has a 1.5ghz CPU and this Huawei feels every bit as fast.

A Nook Color even at 1.3ghz overclocked feels much slower than the stock Huawei

Would you want a "real" American car?

I'd rather have the equivalent US built Korean or Japanese brand ;)

BE CAREFUL BUYING THESE CHINA BRAND TABLETS! REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I bought 2 of these kinds of tablets from China and have been burned twice.

The first was the Aishuo A820 that I got from Mcbulb about a year ago, this worked fine until a month ago. It no longer powers on. This was my very first tablet and I was going off of fellow member EVO-IC advice, he was praising this tablet left and right.Turns out he was probably getting kick backs from marketing these crap tablets on SD.

The second tablet is the newly released Ainol Novo 7 Elf. I was sent a used tablet and this was shipped to me stuffed inside a bubble wrap envelope causing damage to the top corner of the tablet. It costs over $40 to ship back so I ended up reselling it on ebay for a loss.

THESE ARE MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES WITH BUYING CRAP TABLETS TRYING TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS. YOU ARE GAMBLING BIG TIME BY BUYING ANYTHING FROM CHINA. SOMETIMES YOU WIN BUT MORE OFTEN THEN NOT THE HOUSE WINS.

Tintinet 03-11-2012 11:44 AM

QA/QC issues with Aurora [slatedroid.com], it seems.

sushigaiden 03-13-2012 09:06 PM

is there a tablet that has ics bluetooth and gps out there? Damn I wanna give them a try but none have them. One came close, the Zenithink c91 with a capacitive 10.1 screen. BUT NO GPS OR BLUETOOTH. Is adding bluetooth/gps via usb possible?

geoffkin 03-13-2012 09:15 PM

Why would ANYONE consider this thing, when you can get an HTC Flyer at Buy.com for $190? refurb (reports of perfect like new condition)

hmmwv 03-13-2012 10:17 PM

Are you guys seriously comparing a Huawei product to those no name tablets Evo-IC posted here? The company didn't become one of the world's largest telecom equipment and consumer electronics companies by selling crap. It's several times the size of Motorola mobility and HTC, and if you go by Engadget their latest offerings are just as good if not superior to products from the established brands. Don't bring up the Ainol POS that thing can't even access Market due to the weird CPU.

I've bought both tablets.

You are correct to have the idea that it's better to pay an extra $40 for the HTC Flyer over the S7 Slim.

But you'd be incorrect to think it's a low performing cheaply built "Chinapad".

If the S7 Slim was around the $100 mark (I paid $117 w/shipping for my sons) I would honestly say it's better value than a Flyer. (That's not saying it's a better product of course!!)

My HTC FLyer is my favourite tablet to date.

If you have a choice of a Nook Color or an S7 Slim - S7 wins hands down in my experience other than screen quality.
