I'm less concerned about these refurbs since many people just end up with one anyway! My daughter's Nook (Simple Touch) lasted all of a month before it died. They swapped it in the store because it was close to a month but if it's over, they have to ship it and you wait. Sure hope B&N gets the kinks out of these things quickly.

Snagged a 6 with everything but the owners manual. Repped! I figure for $106.95 shipped (with tax) I could easily sell this for $120-130 with Android ICS loaded on it. My Mom loves hers.

Dead - Price up to 109.99.

Nick6280 05-03-2012 07:29 AM

You have to use the coupon code nook10 to get the $99.99 price.

Also, be sure to check what's included. I would rather have a 6 with everything but the owners manual vs a 7 with missing accessories.

My kids will give me this for Mother's Day, they just don't know it yet. I got a 6 with everything included. Thanks, OP.

Got one- couldn't use an old Best Buy gift card at checkout though. This will at least prevent my wife from buying books that she needs/wants to read... since she lost her nook. :(

These Nook Colors are slowwwwwwwwwww. Got mine in the Nook Color + Nook Simple for $150 deal on eBay last month and promptly rooted it and threw CyanogenMod 7 on there. This system comes to a screeching halt with all new games and lags for reading.

Worth the $90, probably, but right now its being used as a media remote for my pc and blu-ray player strictly and some ereading (nook, kindle and kobo). At this price today, id probably pass.

Go into the CM settings on the nook color and enable overclocking to 1.1ghz. Problem solved.

Repped, thanks. Been meaning to pounce on one of these. And I was gonna scratch it up anyway, thats kinda the point of a 100 dollar tablet.

I havent noticed much detriment to the battery life, but I don't use it constantly in situations where I can't charge it for the night. Performance, however, is drastically increased.

Nick6280 05-04-2012 02:23 AM

Just FYI, when making the decision to put CM7 (Gingerbread) vs CM9 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on your Nook, CM9 is not compatible with Netflix at this time. But if you choose to boot into Android from SD card you can dual boot into one or the other.

I have one with a recent CM7 ROM oc'd to 1.2GHz and the battery life is good, much better than my HP Touchpad at least... the "deep sleep" mode seems to work especially well, with light use it'll last a week or longer off the charger.

Thumbs and reps for OP, came here to post about CowBoom having these for $110 and found out they could be had even cheaper with the coupon :D
