Logitech MX Anywhere Wireless Mouse - Best Buy - B&M - $18.99

Best Buy in-store has Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX (910-00872) on clearance for $18.99+tax. Originally it's $59.99.

Though the pricing doesn't appear to be available online, here is the product for reference: Link [bestbuy.com]

I picked one up when I went to get my order for Ratchet & Clank deal at the Best Buy in Sunnyvale, CA.

wikipost 07-03-2012 05:46 PM

This post can and should be edited by users like you :)

As mentioned in a later post, there are TWO different MX Anywhere models and only one is on clearance. The other is regular price.

the SKU - 9423466 Model number 910-000872 is on sale..
it is $42.99 on the OP link.. $18.99 in store.
most of the SDers confirmed that they have bought it for $18.99..so it should be across all the stores..

others who don't have stock in their area..can buy it online for $42.99 ship it to the store near by..go and pick up - return and re-buy in the same store for 18.99..i assume it should work without any trouble..worst case just return and get the full money back..

gt350 07-03-2012 06:45 PM

can you post a receipt picture? Thanks!

drymonkey 07-03-2012 07:15 PM

Stupid best buy system! Google show one of the stores closest to my area as having it for $18.99 yet when I went there to pick it up, ring up for the full $59.99. I thought it was going to be smooth like the previous sony hx9v clearance but no dice :(

heavyrain80 07-03-2012 07:41 PM

Just picked up one in Milpitas, CA for 18.99. There are two version of MX with different model number and package. One is on sale, the other one is still 59.99. Don't know what the difference is.

slickrick15 07-03-2012 07:53 PM

damn thats a slick price. got mine during the amazon lightening deal for like $33 and thought that was good.

runtohell121 07-03-2012 07:54 PM

Damn.. wish I noticed earlier when I was in the bay.. would have definitely picked one up.

drymonkey 07-03-2012 08:00 PM

Can anybody post the UPC on the $18.99 one as I believed there are two different packages as well.

Chris2 07-03-2012 08:05 PM

I'm seeing $35 everywhere around here, OP what was the sku off your receipt, it should be next to the product name.

BaseShip 07-03-2012 08:06 PM

Let me stop anyone from wasting gas: It's $35.99

check stock with google?

drymonkey 07-03-2012 08:10 PM

Just do a google search and if it listed as $18.99 then it will be $18.99 for your store...The question is which package because it seemed they have two different one. Once again confirming that there are two different anywhere mice in their system:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Logit...Id=5025455

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Logit...Id=9423466

The one listed as $42.99 online is the one on clearance. Probably have to make another trip tomorrow and check again for the correct model number.

why do you guys buy the one with receiver? Isn't it a waste of USB port? i'm looking for one with bluetooth.

Some computers don't have bluetooth (I can personally vouch for that, and no, it's not that old). Also, the receiver is unifying, so it also allows you to connect other Logitech peripherals.

so if my laptop has a bluetooth built-in it's better to stick with bluetooth mouse right?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the battery on bluetooth mice doesn't last as long? The Logitechs with the receiver can last 1-2 years.

NOT THIS mouse it doesn't. Need to change the 2x AAs in the MX Anywhere every 3-4 months, with regular use (everyday). Much higher turnover than other wireless mice we've used.

PS. Never had ANY wireless mouse last more than around 6-9 months on 2x AA alkalines, and I'd had a few over the years.

Only if you don't care about performance. A regular 2.4GHz RF mouse (ie. USB) should out perform most bluetooth mice, both in signal/tracking and in battery life.

Bluetooth is inconsistent when it comes to mice.

xvinsanity 07-03-2012 10:57 PM

Btw I bought this mouse. I think that people should keep in mind that this is the older model in which the middle scroll button is actually just a scroll function. It lakes the middle finger button feature that the new one has. This mouse is still pretty goood. The mouse is accurate and it works on any surface so far. I just installed the driver and edited the button with the window out feature to be my middle button. Great buy but even the recent generation is worth the buy too.

I used to think that too, but bluetooth mice generally don't have the poll rates (frame rate) that the device-specific mice have. My bluetooth mice is nice, and has long battery life, but annoying lag.

I thought BT had a much better range. Seems perfect for a HTPC where I'm on the couch with the mouse a good 20 feet from the HTPC.

Pretty sure 2.4 GHz range is only like 4-5 feet.

Danzilla 07-03-2012 11:25 PM

Very limited availability on the clearanced one. Only 1/10 stores near me reports having one, and that too far to make it worthwhile.

didi52 07-03-2012 11:27 PM

I bought Logitech M510. I am extremely happy. Actually I bought a same second one for my other laptop. Price was about $30 both in Walmart and at Amazon. But I truly like the mouse.

Depends on the strength of the transmitter more than anything. 2.4GHz is the same freq used by some cordless phones and 802.11 wireless networking, both of which have significantly better than 4-5' range. I've seen some wireless mice and keyboards that you can use from the other side of a large room and some that have issues if you even put the receive in the back of a tower case sitting on the floor.

Not true, I broke my M705(user error as I dropped it) after 2 years of moderate everyday use. Battery was still going and probably had another 2 years in them. I was surprised how
efficient some of these mice are! Btw, I have the same mouse at work. After 6 months of 8 to 5 battery still shows full!

No, the Logitech ones work clear across the room and then some. The logitechs have no problems with range, especially for HTPC's. Bluetooth might be farther, but unless it's two rooms down or something, it's not going to matter.

It all depends on the mouse... and what you consider 'regular' use I guess. Like I said, I've had a number of different models over the years and never had any that lasted even a single year.

it's best to keep the receiver in "line of sight" with your mouse. i had the same issue when putting the dongle on the back (or even front) of my tower, but once i connected it to a usb port on my keyboard, no more problems even at 20 feet away.

i would go looking around my area for this deal if i didn't already have 3 of these...

drymonkey 07-04-2012 08:45 AM

Thanks and repped OP, picked one up today. It actually said $18.99 on the self for this particular model.

Rasputin8 07-04-2012 09:53 AM

For those in metro ATL, let me save you some time. The Smyrna location shows one in stock and was nowhere to be found (likely the display model). The Kennessaw location shows three in stock but are nowhere to be found after scouring the store for 30 mins.

Both locations had the other SKU model @ $59.99.

CardFan 07-04-2012 09:54 AM

Just went to the store and they didn't have any. Had them look up the SKU on a computer where I could see the screen, and every store in my area is out of stock but has the $18.99 price. So I just placed an online order for in-store pickup (price will adjust automatically when I pick it up). Thanks OP!

spinteews 07-04-2012 09:59 AM

if i order and ship to store, will it really recalculate to the new lower price?

zqmaster 07-04-2012 10:07 AM

picked up one from Concord Mills, NC. I think I got the last one.
Thank you so much OP.

carbony13 07-04-2012 10:23 AM

Got last one in Chicago IL too! Thanks!

neal_nelson 07-04-2012 10:24 AM

4 months battery life

According to Logitech, the trade off with being able to use it anywhere is battery life. Comparison with marathon mouse, available refurbished ($20.99) from Meritline, here;

If you pick it up from a store you know has the price at $18.99, then yes. You either have to find the clearance price on the stores clearance page, or go to the store like I mentioned.

: ( Sorry you didn't find anything! When I came across this, I saw the clearance price tag first and but no mice in the spot where they were supposed to be. I got sad and started to look around more and luckily found one that was two shelves below hidden between two other mice boxes. I'm not sure if someone was trying to hide it to pick up later or if it was just misplaced. Maybe you can try what CardFan suggests and get it price matched after ordering online.

According to google, Northridge Shopping Center, Salinas has limited stock so you can try there if you hadn't already done so. When I found mine they were hidden behind some Marathon mice.

Great price and all. I had one of these and it's just too small and made my hand cramp up. You have to kind of arch you hand over it to grip it. Maybe my hands are just too big because I know many people love this mouse. As for me, I had to return it for a better, larger Logitech mouse.

They must have made some change or there are some other differences because I've heard this from others having problems with short battery life as well. A quick search turns up a good number of posts on the issue...

E-Monster 07-05-2012 09:18 AM

Just picked one up at the Bloomfield Hills, MI store.

Had to ask an associate to find it for me as it wasn't in with all of the other mice. If anyone else is going to this store, go the far right-hand side of the store and then walk 2-3 rows passed the employee station. It was on a shelf near the end of the row.

Have been using it for a few minutes now. I think I'm going to like it. I did have to slow down the pointer speed as it moved much faster than my wired mouse after plugging in the receiver.

Yeah, you might have to dig a little for this...I saw a set of mice on display and all of the MX Anywheres were sold.. I went around to the back and saw a ton of them, but they were the new version. Then at the very end cluttered in all the other mice I saw a for sale sign for 18.99 for the one they had in stock here in North Little Rock.

I tried a pick up in store order, lets see what happens

tanmal 07-05-2012 12:53 PM

Ordered one at Best buy store

None was available at my local store in Framingham, MA.

Checked with Store sales rep and he helped in ordering one for $18.99 though it was priced as $42+ on the site but on sale for $18.99 at store.
He did a price match while ordering and asked me to pickup from store in next 6 days as none of them were in stock.

Closest Best buy having 1 was Cape cod :) which was out of question.

Rasputin8 07-05-2012 05:04 PM

Ordered one from my local store for $18.99 + tax. Should be here within the week.

Even according to Logitech, the battery life for 2x Alkalines is only upto 7 months... so I can't imagine what you're using...

Just choose pickup in store and it should let you know if that model is available.

agreed. I've had the mouse for 6 months attached to my laptop and have had to change the batteries every month. Partially my fault for not turning it off at night, but I was hoping for the same battery life as my old m705[3 months left on continuously].

GolDRoger 07-06-2012 12:36 PM

Thanks OP! Just picked one up at my local BB today. :woot:

Even if your store shows oos, it's worth checking. All of my local BB's showed oos and I found 2 at the first one I checked. There were 3 of the full price (model : 910-002896, sku: 5025455) on the logitech end cap. However, in the actual isle there were 2 of $18.99 clearance models (there was no clearance tag posted).

Oddly enough, both of the boxes had the front bottom panel torn (the mouse itself was still technically sealed and brand new). Perhaps these were taken off inventory due to box damage, or the BB employees purposely damaged the boxes to prevent resale.

Either way, definitely check your local BB. This is a great little mouse for $19. Just look for the boxes with the 910-000872 model # above the UPC code.

Thanks OP. Checked my local store stock but the $18.99 mouse was out-of-stock.

Got home and called Bestbuy.com and asked them to price match to the store price. Getting mine in the mail next week!

Of course yes.

Does the clearance model have the unifying receiver or a regular receiver?

Great, thank you. I may look for some as gifts.

jreuschl 07-07-2012 05:55 AM

Does Google not work for this anymore? I search by 910-00872 and all I get is a bunch of Best Buys in stock for $59.99 yet BB only lists 2 stores as having 910-00872 for stock.

ACDC2TURBO 07-07-2012 07:26 PM

I just attempted to order one online as a spare. Best Buy online sales was willing to match the $18.99 clearance price, but the item is unavailable for shipping. Unfortunately, the nearest store with in-stock availability is approximately 2 hours away. Thank you anyway! Repped!

lostdecoy 07-08-2012 02:02 PM

Deal is dead.

If you notice the price on the website has gone up from $42.99 to $59.99. Tracked one of these mice down, with the right SKU etc., and it rang up $35.99. Must have been a weekly sale on that SKU so congrats who got in. One day late for us...

peppermint 07-13-2012 05:21 PM

Did anyone order online for "ship to store" and pick up the order? Wanted to check if the price is being adjusted that way.. thanks

didian121 07-13-2012 05:37 PM

I saw that.. but still want to check if anyone actually went to pick it up.. you never know with all the drama with the model numbers and such.

Rasputin8 07-14-2012 10:49 AM

Yeah, I picked mine up this week from an in-store order for $18.99. Should have ordered more as backups, I really like this mouse. It even arrived at the store 2 days early.

I just picked up a ship to store order tonight. The price did not automatically adjust and I was told it was at that price but had gone back up. I was able to talk the kid working the counter into a return and rebuy at the clearance price based on the fact it was at the clearance price when I ordered it. So it looks like any ship to store orders are very YMMV at this point.

was the adjustment automatic? And just to confirm ur online order was at full price when placed?

Rasputin8 07-14-2012 08:18 PM

No, the order was initiated in-store at the $18.99 price (and when it was still available for shipping online). I prepaid and waited a few days for the mouse to arrive, no need for price adjustment. The specific version of this mouse on clearance is no longer available for shipping according to BB.com so this method will likely not work anymore unless the in-store service pulls from a different inventory.

peppermint 07-18-2012 06:32 PM

I tried to pick up my online order and it rang up at 30 something. Even asked them to pull up RSS and the stores that had it for $18.99 were now 30 something.. wtf, never seen a clearance item go up in price..

nobutan2 07-19-2012 10:13 PM

The mouse is selling for $59.99 at my local Best Buy...
And I went to Sam's Club to checked the $26.99 MX mouse, but they were obviously being used and opened. And they said it's new...

Nope. Apparently one is ambidextrous and one has a right hand design.
Also, the size is different.
Product Height:----2"--------------------1.25"
Product Width:-----2"--------------------2.4"
Product Weight:---9 oz.----------------3.8 oz.
Product Depth:-----4.5"------------------4.9"

Not a price mistake. It's best buy's usual weekly clearance where they picked an item, marked it down for that week, then when it ended, jack the price up again. They did the same thing previously with the sony hx9v.
