SIMple Mobile (T-Mobile MVNO) $50 Unlim. Talk, Text, 4G web
The prepaid T-Mobile MVNO now offers:
-unlimited text -unlimited voice -unlimited 4g data for $50 instead of the previous $60. This also applies for the previously $60 Blackberry 4g plan, which is now also $50. Good news for those who prefer prepaid over postpaid as this means prepaid plans are only get better and better  http://www.mysimplemobile.com/Sim...-Plan.aspx |
This post can and should be edited by users like you :)
1. The 4G data is NOT unlimited.
2. No Unlocking needed to use T-Mobile Phone on Simple Mobile. Since Simple Mobile uses T-Mobile's network, their SIM will work even if your phone is locked to T-Mobile. |
I saw this change about a week or so ago. My brother is looking into this deal, but he is concerned about the 4G data speeds on this network. I use T-mobile and my data speeds are usually decent (~4 mbps), can anyone confirm if he can expect data speed in this range?
|
nice deal
|
Yes this does sound good. is there a hidden data cap with this plan?
|
I remember reading that they have a hidden data cap of 2GB
|
Is the 4G cap the same as the 3G cap? I think I remember reading that it's somewhere between 2GB and 3GB.
|
This doesn't work for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III correct ? Only the GSM version ?

I live at Dallas, and a friend paying $60 for 4g (galaxy nexus) speed test around 4mb. Same time I tested on my phone T-mobile get around 7 - 8mb. it isnt really full speed, also they limit on roaming calling too.
|
Does the data slow down after certain gb size?

This plan also offers unlimited international texting which would be good for those that need it.
|
That is a great deal, thanks for the heads up.
|
I'll have to mention this to my sister. Just one question, though (and I feel kind of stupid asking,,but)... Would I need to get my tmobile GSM phone unlocked if it is locked to t-mobile in order to use it on this plan?
Thanks! |
Looks like a great deal thanks for posting.. Currently using a GS3 on ST, but this looks like a good alternative for those with bad ATT coverage...
|
Any idea about coverage of 4G/3G network on this?

As others have mentioned what separates simple mobile now is the free international text for those that need it |
No Unlocking Needed for T-Mobile Phone

only good, if you don't roam.....
|
Do they offer wireless tethering or is it included?
|
now how exactly is it different than the $50 T-Mobile Plan for prepaids?
If you went 3G with Simple Mobile, you could do it for $40/- If you were a call and text guy only (carrying Nexus 7) around with you!!!!! how exactly is that savings? next, why not spends $55 with Virgin Mobile and get it all!!!!!!!.....top of the line!!!!!!!!! 4G on Sprint Network (prepaid only) . For us old people who barely text but TALK TOO MUCH, an unlimited VOICE IS only thing most PRECIOUS. No prepaid does that...or is it? |

I don't see how they can get away with advertising unlimited internet if they don't offer unlimited 2G after you reach the 4G cap which is what T-Mobile does. |

Yes, it's a shame that it's not unlimited. Clear stated limits would be better. Also, for anyone considering the $40/mon plan, the new speed cap for that plan is approximately 290-300kbps. More than double the old limit of 120kbps (also tmobile's 2G speed). It's a very good speed for those that just need light browsing. Even fast enough for Pandora. Even youtube, not HD. |
So, SIMple is as same as t-mobile mobile-same coverage, same signal strengths, right? (just want to make sure)
I believe- unlimited 4G is up to 2gb ? |
If they disable your internet for any reason other than "abuse" then it is not truly unlimited.
At least standard tmobile lets you continue on at a lower speed. I was seriously looking into this until I saw all of the posts by people who had their internet shut off and you can't get it turned back on once it is off... 2gb is NOTHING, not with video conferencing, streaming audio, etc... Places like Tmobile who tout these features and then hit you with the unlimited "cap" is so dishonest. I think Sprint is the only true unlimited company at the moment. |
Whats better Simple or Straightalk comparing their plans....do both have same plans ..if u get tmobile SIM. ..isnt ST $45..so Simple is $5 more? why should one consider Simple over ST ...any advice ?
-unlimited text -unlimited voice -unlimited 4g data |
Simple Mobile's customer service is the worst. Very rude and straight up ignored my replies when they found out I wasn't going to cancel the next month.

Does anybody have a link to the actual wording regarding this plan? The "details" link on their site does not include many actual details. |

Also, you save $5 dollars and you get half-decent, not great, speeds. ~300kbps. I'm always on wifi anyway. I'm on Straight Talk about to port over to simple. Besides, at least with Simple I know, more or less, where the data usage limit is. With Straight Talk I'm extra care to not go over 100MB in a day.. But this is my personal situation, others will have different priorities. |
First 100MB at up to 4G speeds then it slows down. These phone companies are getting to be like the gub'ment... useless and NO help.

Great deal. I now pay them $40.00 for unlimited 3G.
|
The carrier, T-Mobile, has three different 4G networks depending on the area which is why people see different 4G speeds. If you live in an area with 1700 MHz and/or 2100 MHz then you have the highest speeds. Nationwide, most T-Mobile service areas have 850/1900 MHz with 4G only in the 1900 MHz segments. However, since AT&T's failed merger penalty payment, T-Mobile now has the funds to deploy 1700/2100 MHz nationwide by 2013.
The phone experiences 3G speeds either by traffic shaping on a 4G channel or by switching to a 3G channel (or 2G in some areas). For the "overage" situation it really depends on your plan and it is NOT the same on MVNO as it is on T-Mobile proper since subscribers to an MVNO like SIMple Mobile are treated differently than T-Mobile subscribers are. In other words, YMMV. |
Sim Simple ALWAYS throttles you to 300kbps regardless of your data usage?

I have been usin the $40 plan for a year now
What sucks is no 3 way calling and no call fwd. I see the $50 plan has 3 way , but I didn't see if it has call fwd Without call fwd you can't use you mail |
Looks like they decided to stop throttling, I hope atleast.
I would jump on this pronto http://www.phonearena.com/news/Si...ed_id33617 |
for those who got this deal:
1. how is the data speed? 2. how is the coverage? 3. are you getting throttled? rep for useful info |

Thanks for the info. That's too low an alotment of 4G. Rumor has it T-Mobile will stop throttling the $70 pre-paid plan @ 5GB and make it unlimited 4G in November. |

I'm debating if I should jump on the $30 100 mins 5GB plan or T-Mobile value plan with unlimted data. Neither the 100 minutes nor 5GB are enough but I could make due and supplement with Vonage app for free outgoing voip calls. Draw back with the value plan is mandatory 2 year contract even though you bring your own device. I don't get that! |
