I bought two of these yesterday for $269.10 each pretax using 10% Lowes coupon. Got this deal from the Home Depot #6966 in Sacramento, CA. Also, the HD stores in Rancho Cordova and Woodland were out of stock according to the inventory checker, but when I stopped by they both had one in stock. So, if it shows out of stock it's possible they might have one still available. B&M only - YMMV.

Good deal if you can find it. Out of stock via the checker everywhere I checked so I guess it's a drive to the store VMMV proposition.

Since they cost 50 bucks to rent at home depot I don't know that I will scour the area for one.

"California Only" or CARB version.
Shows up as "Online Only" here on the East Coast.

Good price though for a Triplex CAT pump with Turbo Nozzle included.

Is this safe for car washing?

Are you using the inventory checker? I found some available in-store in some areas of Florida. For example, Ft Meyers East #8444 has 2 in stock and S Cape Coral #6975 has 3 in stock, but I don't know if it's on clearance there.

Clearance is YMMV. These were on clearance in other areas down to 1 cent early in the year. In my area it is $399 with 2 in stock. At $299 I might bite.

I picked one up today in Santa Rosa. They didnt have any Rigid pressure washers in the pressure washer section. I showed the item to an employee and they told me it was online only item. I found a pallet of them on the top of the shelf opposite of the pressure washer section. $299.00 and then used a $50 gift card I had gotten earlier in the year.

it's way overkill for washing cars but if you are like me you'll clean everything within a 100' radius. Not sure about this model but most pumps have a pressure adjustment on top to regulate the spray. Additionally you can use a wide angle tip to disperse it, just keep it a foot or two away from paint finish. Most contractors wouldn't bother with a pump less then 3000 psi but be careful, it could blow you right off a ladder or a roof. I had tried a u shaped gutter cleaner once and my hand jammed the pistol until it broke, right before my wrist was about to break.

Most PWs at HD come with home owner grade pumps. Engines will outlast those pumps, especially a Honda engine. This Rigid however comes with a CAT pump which is considered top notch last I checked. I'm no expert but have used a few in my time, including the commercial belt drive units that will last longer with lower RPM.
