I own both the K60 and the rosewill (brown switches) keyboards. Both are great but I give the edge to the corsair for gaming, the edge to rosewill for typing. IMHO the K60 is the best gaming keyboard out there today for the money, though i've only tried 5 mech keyboards personally. Great value at $60.

The K60 isn't fully mechanical. The page navigation buttons and the function keys are all membrane style. I'm sure it doesn't matter to some, but it would personally bother me to have different key actuation feedback across a single keyboard.

great keyboard. i've been using it for several months now and i'm more than happy with it. the keys that aren't mechanical hardly ever get used, so it's really a non-issue for me. it's not like you're using those keys for gaming anyway...

If it was only a the single F row that was dome, that would be fine, but the 6 dome keys in the middle is just too standout.

That said, this is still a very good keyboard despite the rubber dome.

However, as I've mentioned and warned numerous times, the whole line is plagued by key sticking issue.

I honestly refuse to believe the people who claim they got a "working one" without the issue, when I have personally experienced 3 keyboards that DID have the issue, all at different times after release.

My friend who bought the k60 with me, the very first one on release also had the key sticking issue.

So it's 4 keyboards that I've touched that has the key sticking issue.

There is a corsair support thread detailing the issue on their support forum. The main problem is they still haven't fixed it, and the replacement keyboards they've sent out to people also exhibited key sticking.

They also absolutely DID NOT produce a fix in driver or firmware, even after 6 months.. :(

Thanks for your tips, otherwise I would have bought this keyboard and created more problems for myself.

I've seen plenty of reports about sticking keys from all over the place. Same with the partially membrane arrangement. Pointing out common problems and issues doesn't make someone a troll....

I own this keyboard, and I have had absolutely zero key sticking issues after around three months. Maybe others did while using my computer? I don't know. But I've never experienced it. No joke.

I really like this keyboard. When I first got it, I was used to using MX Blues and Browns, so it took me awhile to adjust to these Reds, but I think I prefer the linear switches now. The dedicated media keys and volume control are some of my favorite features; they make my computer usage easier since I always have something playing while on the computer that's hooked up to this computer. For example, while typing this, I skipped three songs without having to touch my mouse or Alt+Tab.

Only thing about it that I dislike is the fact that some keys have the rubber domes instead of being mechanical. I know many, perhaps most, don't use those keys very often, but I particularly use some of them regularly and often (Esc, half of the function keys, Del, Home/End, PgUp/Dn, PrtScn). It just doesn't feel right typing on the mechanical switches with rubber dome inputs put into the mix. I can live with it, but if it were up to me, I'd have all keys mechanical.

Still rocking my old LX700 keyboard. Plenty noise coming from it, though it's probably a membrane keyboard...

tp4issue: or he got lucky and got a good keyboard

Hoping for some specifics.

I have the older Logitech Wave Cordless Desktop setup from 2008, finding the keys to be unusually loud, but at the same time have grown to love its semi-ergonomic curve. Is typing really comfortable? How're the ergonomics and the typing noise?

RE: Sticky sticking key issue

It could be an inherently design defect or just really poor quality control. If there are numerous reports of this issue cropping up all around, then it would be short-sighted to write off anyone who personally mentions this in SD as a troll. One of the central benefits of SD is keeping potential buyers in the loop about what they might be buying. Just because you didn't experience the problem personally doesn't mean others haven't. If you're all for making sure people make informed decisions in their purchases, your best bet is not dominating the forums or assuming from the onset that your opinion is more valid or correct than someone else's.

But if you're just a shill who's got some financial stake in this keyboard's success, I can understand. Just don't be an ass about it.

I've had this since release. Excellent keyboard overall, I don't really notice the keys that aren't mechanical. I had the key graying issue, they replaced it with a new unit. As for the sticking keys, it pops up once in a while, but not that much with the replacement unit.

random79 09-19-2012 06:03 PM

I bought this keyboard back in about february for about $90 (it retailed about $100 then).

Few thoughts, I do love the keyboard, it is sleek and stylish and I personally like the raised caps, helps to clean it. Unlike others, I don't find typing on it to be too much trouble, even with the cherry red switches. It took a few days of typing on it to adjust but now typing on almost any other keyboard feels difficult.

Other things: The membrane on other keys has never been an issue for me, I dont use the function or home/set of keys very often.
I HAVE experienced the sticky key issue, and it is a known one by corsair. It is annoying when it happens, but its a pretty rare occurance. A few times a month or so, usually have to bang on my keyboard a bit to get it unstuck. It seems to happy a lot particuarlly on my Backspace key which is really annoying. The first time it happened, I had no idea what was going on with my web browsing as pages kept going back heh.
Also, the ink on the "laser etched' keys are fading on commonly used keys (a, s, d, e, etc) , but from what I understand, the keyboard is under 2 year warranty and this is covered under it, so I will likely return it for a new on sometime next year.

All that said, I love this keyboard a lot at and a $60 price point i think its an excellent value.

Going to chime in here, I purchased the last deal and returned it to Newegg for the sticking keys problem. It is still occurring on the most recent revisions of the keyboard with no known date for a fix.

Purchased it as Guild Wars 2 was coming out and it instantly displayed the issue multiple times an hour. Ordered a Durandal G1N with browns and I haven't been happier since.

ChaosDimension 09-19-2012 07:25 PM

I have the k90 myself. No sticking issue and the keyboard has been rock solid.

Corsair keyboards are not made by iONE.

The Corsair Keyboards are not made by iONE...

The repeat key issue is very rare any only affects a small number of users. They have posted they are working on the issue that again affects a small number of users. Remember they have support forums.. most companys have nothing. If you visit a support forum you are going to see the very small % of people who have issues. Corsair has great customer service. You can email them, Speak to a live person of the phone, or fill out a RMA. So if you have any issue they are more then willing to help.

Visit the corsair support forum, and witness the atrocity that Corsair has committed against the computer community :D

http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showt...12&page=15

They haven't fixed the issue after 6 months, even as new buyers consistently come in to report this issue.

See for yourself at the corsair support forum, EVERYONE who extensively use their keyboard have noticed. My guess is that there are those novice users out there who are either ignorant of the issue, or just assume that this malfunction is part of the normal computer glitch, it's not.

is it because iOne's quality sucks?

is it because of Luck?

is it because of iOne's poor design in the key matrixing?

I suppose it's true what my critics claim, in that I could not be sure.

What I am sure though is, why take a risk, when there are so many trusted brands out there, namely Leopold, and any Costar oem produced boards, such as the quickfire rapid, das, filco, rosewill.

Ducky is pretty good these days too, but no warranty in this country.
