HU: New SocialSci study

hey there, all!

Mike from SocialSci is emailing to let people know that there is a new study. it's a 50 pointer, but...well, that's 50 more points!

It's about boredom lol.

dakotatakes 10-04-2012 03:20 PM

and it takes 30 minutes, should be worth 150 points for that insane amount of time

rudolfschmidt 10-04-2012 03:44 PM

Yeah, there's another study that effectively pays $2.50 (in Amazon gift credit) per hour. These guys are clowns.

As an attempt to better understand the wants of our participants, I am sincerely curious as to your motivations for participating in the scientific surveys posted on SocialSci. Do you consider taking surveys a job or money making endeavor? Are you motivated primarily by the amazon gift card or do you find the subject matter interesting as well? Most of our participants never even cash out Amazon giftcards, but are there to contribute to the furthering of science among other reasons. It would be great to hear more from our 'non-typical' slickdeals users as to what they expect as fair compensation. We are still growing and willing to always make changes to improve SocialSci for our researchers and participants. Thanks for any feedback!

I do surveys for many researchers, both directly via university websites and indirectly via Studyresponse; I'm rarely offered anything less than a $12/hour rate, and often get far more than that. I'm happy to contribute to science, and I will in fact prioritize research surveys over similar-paying standard surveys, but I do the highest-paying surveys offered to me, not the lowest-paying.

Ive seen illegal immigrants picking crops that get more .Seriously though 150 points for an estimated 60 mins is pretty bad. I say estimated because if you dont rush through the survey they take alot longer than that.

I had 2 new surveys today, one was 100 points and the other was 50. I like taking surveys from this place, I think the surveys are interesting.

50pt art survey open. Fun & fast one. Just redeemed another Amazon gc.

dakotatakes 10-25-2012 07:08 PM

I'm filing a BBB claim against them and contacting the school department, you guys don't even want to know the shady $#%#% they did to me.

Luckily I have it all well documented.

RUN AWAY FROM THEM BEFORE THEY DO IT TO YOU ALSO!

New SocialSci up - Part 1 of 2. Evaluating the Behavior of Peers 50 pts. now and I believe 100 pts in 28 days for 2nd part. This gave me enough to cashout for $5 amazon.

Warning - this survey is fairly short but very personal in nature and I was quite shocked at some of the questions. I just kept thinking OMG at some of the questions.

wench12 12-02-2012 03:59 PM

Yes! I felt the same way---and I am certainly no prude! Thank you for saying that!

MagdySD 12-02-2012 04:28 PM

what did they do to you?

wench12 12-02-2012 06:19 PM

Oh no---it's just that some of the questions were rather provocative. And weird. It's fine for the points, just rather unusual.

iphopper 12-03-2012 05:18 PM

ya, be careful lol. not always safe for work. one survey, a while back, was well illustrated with various vantage points vaginas. it was about sexuality and your understanding of it. nothing pornographic, just...would def. draw a look or two from a coworker lol

A new study is available.

LogicX 02-03-2013 05:45 AM

We just emailed moments ago about a study running today only, for those who are eligible.
