Wow, I don't remember Gymboree ever taking 50% off clearance. Always 25% off. Great deal if you have a 20% off coupon to stack on top of this sale. Too bad we already have way too much this year and can't buy ahead because I have no idea what DD will want to wear next summer.

limited stock. hard to find size to fit my daughter next summer. not worth paying shipping. gymboree is way over priced. crazy8 is more reasonable.(gymboree sister store) . that's my opinion :)

martincha0 10-11-2012 03:39 AM

I stacked with the 10% one time coupon. They will email you the coupon by joining their reward program. repped

I just called Gymboree and they said all stores SHOULD have an additional 50% off clearance, but she would recommend calling your local store to verify.

Good luck!

CaptainObvious 10-11-2012 09:14 AM

Can't find anything for my son for next summer. Good sale, though!

It's even better in store. My store had a very large selection of all girls sizes (I don't have boys so didn't check) and the prices are even lower than online. I used a 20% coupon from Parenting magazine and paid $55 for 11 shirts/tank tops, 3 dresses, 3 pairs of sandals, 1 pair of shorts, 2 pairs of sunglasses and 2 sets of hair accessories. Awesome deals for Gymboree clothes!

beckstar 10-11-2012 04:06 PM

good deal but no big kid sizes :(

tfm2011 10-11-2012 09:23 PM

You can also get a free bodysuit & free shipping with any $10 purchase online (also available in store)

Yes check in store for better deals and more size selections. I normally think Gymboree's clothes are way over priced. But with this sale and stack a 20% off or $20 off $80 coupon makes these clothes a hot deal. Even the winter clothes can be had for under $8 per item if you look around.

Walking out I think I paid an average of $4 per item. These are mostly pants, shorts, and shirts (not T-shirts). Even though Gymboree's clothes are expensive, they are made very well with good quality materials. This is even a better deal than the Kohl's sale several months back, which I thought was pretty good already.

How many outfits should a 0-3months baby have? I can't resist buying clothes for my upcoming DD, esp. with pretty good deal like this. We also have $25off$50 to use for next purchase.

Here's how it went with our baby:
- She was born 9lbs 3oz, so she was pretty much out of newborn immediately
- We put her in nice clothes to "show her off" and she spit up pretty quickly on everything
- We learned for the second child to use basic onesies most of the time, to make cleaning easier

It will depend on your preferences, but you do not need many outfits for your newborn. We regularly brought seasons ahead and stored the clothing in space bags by size/season. Sure we bought some we couldn't use, but it was a lot less money than buying at the mercy of the retailers.

Although Gymboree has very good clothes, I think Children's place has clothes just as good, maybe not as much variety but overall they are pretty much even. That said, am I the only one who goes to the children's place outlet for out of season clothing sales? With my 20-30% off coupons I usually pick up long/short sleeve tees for like 1.50, all sorts of pants, hoodies, shorts, t for $2-3, white polos for school uniforms at $4, 4th of july, xmas etc... sleepies for like $2, dresses for $3-5, etc... the list goes on but I only buy those big red tag clearance racks, hell,.. i've even picked up a pair of baby socks for 17cents, no kidding.

My bad, I meant 19 cents for the socks...

I made the same mistake with my first born, he wore maybe each thing 2 times max, with the next children I just put whatever because they grow out of it every 2 months, incredibly fast.

baccts 10-12-2012 07:39 AM

where did you get the 20% coupons?

Not many. Like the other people said, just a couple of cute dresses to show her off when you go out, and mostly sleepers or onesies the rest of the time. The first couple of sizes are outgrown in a flash! The gymbo onesies aren't very practical--the Carters ones with snaps all down the front are best!

The 20% off coupons are available in a few magazines (parents, parenting, etc). If you sign up for the free shipping/free bodysuit (a few posts back) they send 2 emails, one has the free shipping/free bodysuit and the other has a 10% off coupon

No matter if your baby is tiny or big, they grow so fast that 0-3 months clothing gets barely used. With my sone (being my first) I also bought tons of onsies and half of them he did not even wear. Keep in mind you will get lots of clothes as gifts too..so I would say stock up more on bigger sizes like 6-12 months range.

wittybecca 10-12-2012 10:55 AM

Guys, I have to brag -- I went to a local B&M Gymboree today and bought 30 items in a variety of sizes for the baby girl I'm expecting in February. Out of curiosity, when I got home I added up all the original prices -- $744.50. I paid $77.65. Now that's a good sale. :-D

craezie 10-12-2012 01:59 PM

I stopped by my two close Gymboree stores, and they had WAY more in stock than on the website. I was able to use a 20% coupon at each, as well, so I only spent $45 total and bought17 things for my 3 kids. $2.50 tees, $3.50 shorts, $4.50 gymmies, $0.79 tights, an adorable dress for $4.50, etc. They were putting out the last stock of boys as I arrived, so I'm sure this stuff will be gone quick. While it is mostly summer stuff, I was surprised to see a few things from last winter still, including a fleece jacket that I picked up for my son for $3!

Nice job. I always enjoyed shopping their end of season sales pregnant, because they always have a lot of tiny sizes left on clearance, and none of the people who already have kids buy them (because they would be too small by the time the season comes).

My policy is to never spend more than $5 (usually I spend much less!) on an item of clothing for a child, because horrible things always happen to them (tears, stains, etc) and I don't want to be out $30 and mad at my kid when they dump something on their precious little outfit.

Just came back from the store & they allowed stacking coupons :D I used the 20% off + free bodysuit. Managed to get a $26.95 footed 1-piece for $1.22 + winter jacket for $3.53 + baby hat for $1.35. There's also 25% off non-clearance item throughout the whole store I believe
