It was $34.99 before today, but now Season 5 of AMC's Mad Men is $29.99 at amazon.com on DVD or Blu-Ray. The title will be released on Oct 16, and it has a pre-order price guarantee, so you will get the difference if the price drops more before you get it. Because the set is over $25, you get free shipping whether you have Prime or not. (As an aside, the usually pricier bn.com had this for $29.53 before today, but now they are up to $34.99 and amazon is down to $29.99.)

Not to thread crap (too much), but since you added the BN price -- Best Buy advance ad shows it for 29.99 next week, but then use the $5 Upgrade and Save coupon for a price of 24.99 (+tax).

Good tip hariseldon! One other thing, if you can wait, I expect this one might end up as a Black Friday Deal. In the past, Mad Men seasons have gone for as low as $9.99.

Agreed though most previous releases have had a much longer lead time coming into the Holidays. I've bought all 4 previous seasons for less than $10 each. I'm guessing with just a 4-6 week window I wouldn't expect a cut rate deal until Holday 2013 season.

The previous 4 season were released in either March or July. The March releases (S3 and 4) were $9.99 the same season (8 months later), but the July releases (S1 and 2) weren't at that price until 16 months after release.

You make another good point. Though, as the market for DVDs continues to decline, I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of price break on these for Black Friday, maybe not $9.99 though (possibly $19.99 or $24.99).
