I love this time of year.

ClearanceCloset 10-13-2012 02:21 PM

Time to pickup those big $$$$ items online, for I fear those states that do not require sales tax to be collected, will do so shortly...

sumthn 10-13-2012 09:02 PM

I am sooo excited! I've been waiting for this! Let the craziness begin!

wangcho78 10-13-2012 09:14 PM

I really didn't had anything to buy for few years but this year will be different!

- Buy tons of toys for my daughter
- Buy 128~256gig SD
- Buy GDDR5 2 gig video card/ 500v power
- Buy new laptop for wife

This will be fun!!!

Slickd3aler 10-14-2012 01:06 AM

I bought stuff last year that I didn't even need! I don't even use! And am still paying for on credit card a year later!!! Oppppppssss, can't pass up a great deal even if I don't have the cash for it! Slickdealers disease! :whee:

kema 10-14-2012 08:53 AM

I am getting the Shark Navigator Professional Lift-Away Vacuum Cleaner - Model NV356 for my aunt. She doesn't want ref. I hope Amazon puts it on sale soon so I can price match at Bed Bath & Beyond and get the extra 20 percent off. (150 is my dream price)

I'm hoping for a nice sewing machine sale at a store that does extended warranty.

My mom is gonna get a really nice necklace or bracelet from Esty or some independent jeweler.

You can get a great deal on the Shark Navigator just about anytime at Kohl's when they have 30% off plus KC. That's when we bought ours for under 150.

Sounds like it might be terminal and i have never heard a cure for Slickdealers disease. It all depends on how aggressive you particular case is, but once you have it typically never goes away and only get worse--- or better depending on how you look at it.

You're on SD and you have to wait all year for BF deals to come along? You haven't learned a thing here on SD then!

Once a member of SD, you should know some of the best SDs didn't occur on BF at all!

Umm what, some of the best deals are on Black Friday. Getting games that cost $60 the day before for $30 at BestBuy was great. No deal was that low at the time... the lowest I saw for games was $50 and that was to hype BF deals.

Don't let this one get you down. I wait for Black Friday all year too and even though I already save a bunch of money all year round from the various deal sites I go on, Black Friday is still a day I save to get Christmas gifts and highly priced items that don't get much deals year round.

more deals will pop up start looking now, write down your tire size call around to tire places to get an idea of prices..most places charge for mouning & balancing of new tires and disposal of old ones, some times a better deal is free mounting balancing and disposal than buy 3 get 1 free:nod:

I drove by Walmart once at midnight on Turkey day and saw a bunch of people with tents lined up for black friday, I had my gf drive by real slow as I video recorded them and laughed, they just looked at me like a deer in the headlights... I still laugh thinking about the looks on their faces. How many got trampled to save 20% on a set of dishes I will never know, but the memory is priceless.

Black Friday last year was weak, come to think of it I don't really recall Black Friday having any deals worth losing sleep over. I'm not gonna lose 8 hours of sleep to save 40% on a TV that I can get close to the price on a sale somewhere anyways, I'll pay the $200-$400 savings and enjoy sleeping in thank you. "Cyber Monday" is equally blah, I find the deals posted on here throughout the year to be much more exciting.

What are you, 13? Publicly laughing at people trying to score a deal?

There is minimal overlap between the average SlickDealer and the average Black Friday shopper.

Not everyone works a desk job and those that do don't necessarily have access to SlickDeals. Considering most daily deals are posted during the business day, how exactly do you expect a utility worker or truck driver to routinely check SD for hot deals?

If someone can save $400 on a TV by waiting in line for 8 hours, that works out to $50/hr. Not too many people make $100k/yr and those that do are generally located in high cost of living areas. $400 may not be enough for you, but for someone working for minimum wage, that could be a couple days of work.

I haven't shopped in-store Black Friday sales for years, but I don't go around mocking those who do. You need to grow up and seriously reevaluate your thoughts on non-SD shoppers.

Slickdeals. Where you buy something for $1 and kick yourself later because it's $0.50 somewhere else. I'm glad I'm not the only one. :D

r3db4rr0n 10-22-2012 08:07 AM

My friends and I have had a long tradition of setting up camp at Best Buy. We usually save quite a bit on gifts. I look forward to camping in the parking lot every year, we have a good time and usually make some friends. I think it's a lot better than sitting at home and watching daytime television!

asrw 10-22-2012 11:12 PM

I feel like there were more BF ads this time last year. Am I imagining that? I know it's not Halloween yet, but BF is early this year...only a month away! Where are you, ad leakers???

Probably that location only, unfortunately. Malls are no joke on Black Friday though, there are quite a few that run some sold promotions.

I remember a couple years back people busted in the glass doors at the Great Mall of the Bay Area a couple minutes before the doors were set to open because the first 100 people to this customer service desk received $100 gift-cards.

I was in a long line two years ago for BF late night for a store that opened at 10pm. Before I even got into the store after they opened, I had already bought everything from that store online via my phone. I learned my lesson.

shoparazzi 10-24-2012 07:31 AM

What do we think are the odds of Amazon discounting their brand new Kindle Fire HDs? I have my Amazon GC balance built up and pretty much ready to go, but I don't know if I should hold off to see if they might discount them for BF.

Yes 13, and somehow I can still see how ridiculous lining up like sheep in the cold of night to MAYBE score a deal on overpriced Chinese junk is and those who line up, can't. I'm all for scoring a deal, don't get me wrong, but lining up to camp out all night to do it isn't the way, work smarter not harder. I have to go now, my book report on old yeller is due!

"Cyber Monday" is equally blah, I find the deals posted on here throughout the year to be much more exciting.

you sound like a complete dick that doesn't belong here, you sad, sad man.

It's my favorite time of the year! Entering into my final black friday at Wal-mart, I'm actually looking forward to it. It's always fun to work the circus that is the weekend of BF. Next year I switch to my tech support job which thankfully doesn't have crazy days of the year or "doorbusters" :D

It's going to be an interesting BF this year with many retailers leveraged to where you may see reduced discounts on the actual day and just MORE items discounted.

I'll be skimming this thread to see what changes or is announced as we get closer to the eventful weekend

Does amazon put out a list for their BF/CM deals?

Really wanting to pick up a 7970

alanbrenton 10-31-2012 06:48 PM

How will the moderators police hot deals threads that actually belong to the BF/CM thread? I'm only planning to make purchases online and mainly for electronics purchases.

Are there really good deals to be had online on BF and CM or are they mostly in-store, which I would like to avoid. What are the inventory levels like for fairly discounted items online?

TIA.

Depends on the store, honestly.

Fry's inventory levels are very low... so you must order quickly.

Other retailers like Home Depot and Lowe's will typically let you order many Black Friday items online on Thanksgiving and pick them up on Friday so you don't have to throw elbows.

If you're looking for the super low, doorbuster electronics, you will probably have to go in-store or wait for Amazon to price-match.

Amazon will likely have their "gold box" deals back again this year.... which basically copy all of the major deals and prices from the big B&M stores... but provide free shipping.

I registered mine and of course found out that you don't get your sneak peek right away. Registering the card only puts you on a list to access their eventual sneak peek. I'm guessing we'll get it like a day early or something.

I'm surprised, the ads seem slow this year, especially considering Thanksgiving falls like a week early. I fully expected that we would have more of the major ads by now, rather than just Macy's.

NdeM 11-03-2012 05:54 PM

Did somebody has one of those time clocks to be add it to the wiki board? That way we can even watch how many more days we have left to set up a plan to hit the stores... lol.. thanks guys! :)

butterfly719 11-05-2012 04:56 PM

I'm surprised we don't have Kohl's yet. Kohl's has been released Nov 4th/5th for the past two years. I was actually expecting that we would get some of the ads earlier this year since BF is about a week earlier.

Is the Dell pdf dead?

Opening up to a gif instead right now (??).

Baguda 11-07-2012 07:44 AM

Is there any way to get a PDF of all the pages of each ad scan? Only a few of them have PDFs this year. Last year virtually every store had a PDF ad scan. I guess the new style is we have to view them in our browsers.

And what's with the Best Buy ad and those "low price" instead of listing an actual price? Is that the way the real Best Buy ad is or did someone edit it? It's bad enough that Fry's Electronics loves to have ads that say "Major Name Brand" or "hot price" so nobody knows if it's worth going there and so nobody can pricematch it. I'm going to be sad if other stores start to make their ads useless too by putting "low price" and hiding brands/model numbers.

Slickd3aler 11-07-2012 04:21 PM

Sears and Office Max are out too!!!!!

Jessica2012 11-07-2012 10:31 PM

HU Walmart is out on their website.

TDMVP73 11-08-2012 02:20 AM

Still lots of major ads not released, but some big ones are starting to drop.

So far, Wal-mart seems to take the cake, with a couple of sprinkled deals from Sears.

some people have been saying frys black friday ad is out but it isn't in the master index and I dont see it anywhere. Are they confusing the Thanksgiving one? Thanks for the clarification and a link if the BF one is out!

Could you please tell me which brand/model I may consider for "Table Top Soccer Game for Kids"?

Any shops have this product for the thanksgiving?

Thanks.

Does anyone know how they are going to run the 10:00 Walmart Black Friday Event? Really interested in the tv and am wondering how they will handle the crowds and who gets first crack since the store will be open earlier?

Hi, Can anyone provide the link for updated Black Friday Spread sheet? Thanks.

There are many, many posts on it and there are many different versions of it going around in different format.

There is the Google Doc one which I found to be hard/annoying to use. I couldn't import it to Excel so I used a different source that claimed to be updated for today with ~19490 items.

For those Excel lovers out there, here is a link http://sdrv.ms/Wqq9Ic

Do note: You don't need to download the file and worry about a virus, this is a web version of Excel on SkyDrive. But if you like, I think you can ask to download the file as well and do your own edits.

Good luck and happy Thanksgiving.

anyone see the full frys.com? Or is it only 2 pages? That has to be the shortest one ever for them
