I'm sure Amazon will price match this if you have a Fry's close enough to you. Not sure what they consider close though.

cptcrunch 10-12-2012 08:36 AM

Man, great price for this. I really hope that the P60ST50 drops like this!

I tried that on a TV Set a few months back. They tried to charge White Glove, I told them I'm less than 10 miles from 2 Fry's locations they said they couldn't do anything for me. :(

Joelmc 10-12-2012 11:39 AM

Just bought this tv two days ago. Tried to get Paul's tv to price match. They said with tax, shipping, and restaurant.com giftcard my $1249 price was better. I Was pretty pissed. Won't be buying for them again of they have such a crappy policy.

$1155 is not a bad deal either, assuming there's no tax.

A lot of people are turned off by Panasonic EPP's poor customer service. I haven't ordered the ST50 from them for that reason (though I did buy a BD player).

I think that $1025 price is a recent drop, I think it was $1075 last time I checked a week or two ago.

Depending on where you live, Amazon doesn't charge tax and they should only charge $50 for the white glove service. That makes the tv roughly $25 less and I would rather buy it through amazon.

I did this earlier this year with the 65" version of the tv. Got it before Amazon started charging Cali tax. It was definitely worth it.

Jeremy1388 10-12-2012 03:13 PM

This is awesome I bought this tv 2 weeks ago at Best Buy. Went today with price match guarantee for 30 days. Saved me like $180. Thanks OP.

jammy2009 10-12-2012 03:25 PM

In the Bay Area, Video Only matched the EPP price for my 60ST50. I was willing to pay tax to have a physical store to return it to in case of problems.

fej 10-12-2012 03:29 PM

This is a good deal picked up. I have the 50" I bought in April and it has been awesome, great PQ and pretty decent sound ( coming from a big audio guy). Not mad at all about paying $300 more, put it that way.

For what it is worth, I have had ZERO IR with many hours watching ESPN, some gaming, and a ton of Sprout and their constant logos.

try calling paul's tv monrovia (626) 471-9698. look for gene.

coolambo 10-12-2012 04:17 PM

my only gripe with this tv is the position of the power plug. i've had 2 low profile mounts and both had clearance issues from the back of the mounting plate. i had to use an extender which made the tv stick out a bit. i wish panasonic moved the plug somewhere lower or farther on the sides. another minor gripe is the pixel sparkle which is more noticeable on a tv bigger than 50". before the 55" i had a 42" panny plasma that was awesome.

How the F did you do that. If i'd ask them the same thing, they'd have security escort me out of the store.

slay65 10-12-2012 08:32 PM

This is a very good deal. I bought the Panasonic ET5 for $888 a couple weeks ago. If I had not bought that I would be all over this. In fact I want to buy this one too but my wife would leave me....plus not sure what I would do with two 55 inch tvs.

How about trying something like this right angle power cord? http://www.monoprice.com/products...largeimage

And if you are using HDMI cables and getting "sparklies" try another cable. A better HDMI cable will sometimes cure that problem.

the power cord is already right angle. the problem is it sticks out so while the tv is barely an inch, it gets to be about more than 1" around the area of the power plug. i will try to switch the hdmi cables and even try to directly route the hdmi from the sources to the tv. i am currently using an hdmi switching receiver. although as mentioned by people from highdefjunkies, the 2012 panny plasma lineup is prone to pixel sparkle. right now i am trying to do the 100 hours prep slides. by monday night it should be done and i will try to put in d-nice's reference settings.

phipp 10-13-2012 01:17 PM

AHHH OK I gotcha now.

walleye9 10-13-2012 01:46 PM

Just got back from BB and they price matched no questions asked, just showed them a printed copy of the tv in the cart with the $999 price.

DerrickM 10-13-2012 02:26 PM

I got BestBuy to PM also. I showed them the $999 price in checkout on my phone and they approved.

jsdugan 10-13-2012 03:55 PM

Just bought one - my old 55" Sony is starting to show a purple haze in the lower left corner. Great deal on a highly rated TV. I almost went with the new Vizio 60" LED for $999, but felt better about all of the great reviews on this one.

Nope, I am in Minnesota and the closest Frys is near Chicago. I don't even think the salesman looked at where the store was located, he just looked at it for the price and agreed to PM within seconds, I was actually surprised how easy it was.

I just called Paul's TV to price match and they are still charging me the shipping even though I live in TX. I'm definitely going to try again because I shouldn't have to pay for the 129 shipping even though they didn't charge me for it. Hopefully Amazon matches soon.

do these prices include shipping and tax? wording below is confusing.

Shipping yes, tax no. But I ordered the 55" st50 a week ago and the order still hasn't processed due to backorder (even though it said the backorder was 1-3 days )

wildpygmy 10-15-2012 10:07 PM

Anyone had any luck price matching this with Amazon in the Bay Area? I'd much rather have amazon deliver it than hike all the way down to Fry's (or even Best Buy, because either way I'd have to rent a car).

If they do I'm sure they're going to charge me some amount for white glove shipping even though I could pick it up locally - is $50 the amount they normally charge for this?

I got my local BB in San Jose to price match and they gave me the free shipping on any TV over 47". It's actually being delivered today.

Paupaaa 10-16-2012 11:25 PM

Can anyone post a receipt of a price match?... That would help in my ammunition..

thank you so much

As anyone else ever successfully gotten an EPP price match???. That and a receipt would be amazing?

Nice. I ended up getting Amazon to price match, but they charged me $50 for white glove delivery. Perhaps I could've gotten it cheaper if I went and hassled with bestbuy, but avoiding the hassle of going there is at least worth $20 or $30 to me...

Still had to pay tax too of course.

drugstorecowboy 10-19-2012 06:16 AM

Anyone know if it is still $999 online @ Frys? I want to try to get Amazon to price match tomorrow morning, but don't want to go through the hassle of having to put all my info in to get to the price.

Thanks

slay65 10-20-2012 06:47 AM
