Still too damn expensive for me >_<

Sid3ways 10-17-2012 07:31 AM

Thanks for the coupon code! Picked up a loaded X51 for $530 shipped. Priced it out new and it would have been $1300 shipped so I'm happy. :)

mpclark31 10-17-2012 07:33 AM

Needed a new PC. Grabbed an x51 for $543.17 shipped. Thanks!

funkmasterta 10-17-2012 07:50 AM

do the x51's use laptop video cards? I can't find specs on the GTX555, says "Graphics card specifications may vary by OEM" does anyone know what Nvidia card it's equivalent to in the retail market?

Looking at pics online, its a desktop model that is user replaceable. Though you are limited by the size, some enterprising people have fit larger cards in there.

3dMark score is 3120 putting it with the GTX560- pretty underpowered/outdated card IMO. I briefly looked at some of the Alienwares- the CPU is ok, but the cheap offerings really seem to skimp in the GPU dept.

Nope they use full size graphics cards. In fact I've heard of people putting gtx 670's in them. The gtx 555 is equivilent to a gtx 550 se or a little less powerful than a gtx 460

Could you share the specs you went with? I've been looking around for a solid desktop... thanks.

Kensic 10-17-2012 08:33 AM

some has the power brick of 240w or 330w...make sure you get the larger power brick

avi_31337 10-17-2012 08:34 AM

I've thought of buying a cheap ~400$ one, but ended up buying this bad ass for 550$... Thanks for the deal ..

Kensic 10-17-2012 08:46 AM

man these things are running out quick!

onurx 10-17-2012 08:48 AM

are all the x51 sold out? I'm having trouble getting the site to let me check prices on it?

onurx 10-17-2012 08:53 AM

seem to be OOS....dammit!

lagoveride 10-17-2012 08:55 AM

the x51 looks ok, but I choose to always build my own pc's. You get better bang for your buck especially if you plan on going the watercooling/overclocking route. just my 2 cents, but for the average gamer its not a bad deal.

harvdog13 10-17-2012 09:01 AM

I don't see any X51's left either. Shame.

k2k78 10-17-2012 09:01 AM

is X51 OOS already?! wow so fast

avi_31337 10-17-2012 09:08 AM

I am not a gamer, but wanted a desktop for Windows 8 as a workstation to download stuff/programming ..

Did I make a wise choice is buying X51, compared to the rest of the ones available which are cheaper and serves the purpose ?

And it says "Alienware X51: 1 Year Basic Support (In-Home Service after Remote Diagnosis) (Included in Price)" .. Is that any different from a normal 1 year warranty ???

onurx 10-17-2012 09:11 AM

GOT ONE!!!! You have to scrolll through each page....my model was certified refurb for 545 after tax!

ivyblue 10-17-2012 09:12 AM

Looking for a computer for browsing the internet for 12 year old. Which one is the best? I have no clue about computers and would like a good one. Thanks Can anyone tell me what I need to look for when searching for a computer like graphics and such.

harvdog13 10-17-2012 09:16 AM

I scrolled through each page, still didn't see any...

Well shit, you're right. I refreshed randomly a few times & ended up getting one. $615 with Tax in Chicago, regularly $829. Still trying to decide if it was a good deal or not, but jumped on it while it was available.

12 years old nowadays are so spoiled.

you could probability browse internet with 10% of what this system can offer. i say save your money and get a 200 dollar machine from staples if that's what you wanna do (and would still be over kill).

The ones with GTX 555 have been OOS since 9am CST when I saw the tweet from Dell Outlet, and about an hour ago all the X51 are gone

I think he's comparing to the price of a brand new x51 from dell.com, not a refurb from the outlet.

Is it just me or are the prices on the x51's slowly moving higher? I need it to drop back to the $550 after promo code range.

I bought Alienware m14x r2 with single Hard drive.
Can I add another hard drive and make a RAID, since the option is there to configure, I am thinking it might have an open port inside to that.
Anybody has an idea, how to do that?

I had buyer's remorse and called to cancel my order, I was transferred to resolutions department and the rep offered me 50 bucks off if i do not cancel. HAHA. Needless to say an extra 50 bucks off convinced that this purchase was meant to be!

I really wanted one with a blu-ray but I kept missing out so I called to cancel the one I had from earlier. They didnt even offer to hold one or find one for me. :(

I got the following, can someone confirm, does this mean I have the lower powered option, the 210/240W slim adaptor? If so should I wait for one that has the 330W power, I plan to play some FPS on a 24inch LCD, will the power be able to handle it?

Looks like the steady trickle of x51s has dried up. I know it's an outlet, but kinda dumb to have a "24 hr sale" when you basically run out of your sale product in the first few hours.

nilesong 10-17-2012 07:22 PM

Thanks for posting; picked up an m14x. Been using the same crappy 13" for years, so this will be quite an awesome step up lol

mmisterio 10-18-2012 01:24 PM

Registered to say thank you for the deal alert.

I scored this system around 3:30pm yesterday. Wish it had a better GPU but its a good deal in my opinion.

What's the best way to get all the bloatware/crap off a new X51? Is it to completely wipe the OS & reinstall? Use the OS disc they provide & hope it comes with the drivers? Anyone know?

Thanks!

Also does anyone that got one of those with the i7-3770 have buyer's remorse and wanna sell it to me? :)

av3jan 11-19-2012 11:34 PM
