The ACR in Lightroom is uncrippled (exact same as in Photoshop CS6) where the ACR in Photoshop Elements is crippled (limited adjustments/features).

Lightroom also has a cataloging system that is more robust than the one in elements.

but Lightroom doesn't have native plugin support nor layers.. its a tradeoff.

Personally, I think LR paired with elements is the best bang for the buck. But you have to use the features in each to make it worthwhile..

Just as a heads up --

Amazon has it for $123.26 with a free $30 Amazon Gift Card.

Also, at Newegg, you can use the same coupon code (LIGHT328) to get Lightroom 4 and Kaspersky (no Win8) for $99.89.

You choose what's best for you -- but with my 3% back at Amazon -- I chose that route.

I don't see Lightroom with the $30 Amazon card. Or are you talking about Win8 that had the $30 gift card?

click the "Special Offers Available" link below the price, or look further down on the page for the section "Special Offers and Product Promotions". it lets you add an Amazon Gift card ($30) at no additional cost.

I recommend that you avoid Kaspersky.

Lightroom by itself for ~ $94.82 after gift card is a great price. Don't think I've ever seen it quite that cheap from a reputable seller (without tax anyway).
