Here is a quick demo I just uploaded from my iPhone. (Super crappy) netbook speakers first full volume then I plugged in the speakers full volume then back to netbook speakers. Xbox 360 controller in there for size comparison. Hope this helps.

Like I said, well worth the $9.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2-Xb3n1Chc

I just realized the youtube volume was only about 3/4 up in that vid, they go louder yet. They do get slightly distorted at full volume but a notch down and they sound fine.

bloodthirster 10-30-2012 11:45 AM

Please put RED in your product description. tried the code on the black ones and it didnt work.

you gots to be the worlds greatest fool to take lenovo chats word for anything.

not saying that you are though, just stating how worthless and incredibly dumb and stupid they are.

I got this speaker last year for $10. It does not work with my laptop Win7. Anyone has the same problem?

Why would it be cancelled?
I don't see a problem, unless perhaps the code is targeted...

geniv 10-30-2012 06:55 PM

it's not bad for the price. don't expect $30+ speaker sound quality for it.
it's meant for "plain audio" when playing game,movies/music on this it's lacking.

but at $9 it is priced accordingly.

BTW: there was a deal that comes up regularily from dell for USB speakers that is around the same price (don't remember exact model but it's black, taller and slimmer).

The dell have better sound quality. I would rather get that that instead
(I ordered a few of these lenovo and dell speakers last time around for some of my homeless builds)

tiger32kw 10-30-2012 07:32 PM

I have a pair of the black ones. Using them with my computer creates a high frequency feedback noise constantly. This does not happen with other speakers I have. Just fyi.

ninojuice 10-30-2012 07:33 PM

I actually own these. There was a deal about a year ago with black ones. These little bugs can blast . worth the every 9 dollars. solid deal.

LennySands 10-30-2012 07:40 PM

I don't even think these are worth $5. They're garbage. Not even as loud as my laptop speakers.

bigballs 10-30-2012 07:41 PM

Crap. They tried to unload this shit last year too.

burticus 10-30-2012 07:42 PM

Was almost in for these but they are USB powered, so no use for my mp3 player / tablet without bringing along a usb power cord.

drymonkey 10-30-2012 07:44 PM

So what's the verdict folks? Seem like 50/50 with half saying they are crap while the other half saying they are awesome. Something got to give

jigwashere 10-30-2012 07:45 PM

Bought a pair to use with my son's Nook Color. We're already using a pair of PC speakers requiring USB power supply. Since he only uses the speakers with his bedside stand, we don't mind providing power to them this way. I like that they're small.

durairaj 10-30-2012 07:45 PM

Have a pair of black ones from a previous SD. They are great for this price. Thanks.

compusascam 10-30-2012 08:15 PM

got a pair...

fizzlerz 10-30-2012 08:35 PM

crap!

jk. i have no idea :)

jacewt 10-30-2012 08:38 PM

I have the black ones and I don't like them. They aren't very loud and produce inconsistent sound. I switched back to my old ones. Not worth the money. Get these if you want very basic sound. The quality of the sound is pretty bad.

nap12345 10-30-2012 08:40 PM

horrible lenovo website - very unfriendly

donboydeluxe 10-30-2012 09:00 PM

how do these compare to X-mini capsule speakers?

Seashell74 10-30-2012 09:12 PM

thanks, in 4 1 :)

dogbert3002 10-30-2012 09:16 PM

These are great little speakers for the price. They are a nice size, they are study, and they have a nice sound quality and a surprising amount of bass for their size and price. I have had no problems with mine that I have owned for over a year. I would recommend for anyone who is dissatisfied with their laptop speakers and wants an extra boost. I will be picking up another pair.

BrandNameChic 10-30-2012 09:24 PM

What's the dimension on these for those that owns it. I can't find it on the site.

Pretty simple; some understand what $9 means, some don't. Guess which ones are never happy no matter what?

About 3.25" base diameter, and height about 3.5"

HipHopHead 10-30-2012 09:49 PM

I picked these up a couple months ago off here for about the same price, not the greatest (but ok for what they are) for music but def way better then the built in speakers on my netbook for youtube and stuff like that. They get plenty loud for that. Well worth the price.

Total was $9.82 for me.

chompie 10-30-2012 10:39 PM

Got these last time and they are good quality for the price. I don't use them too often since my laptop speakers work fine for TV shows & such, but for lecture videos, I need these or I can't hear my professors well. The sound is also less high-pitched than my laptop speakers :)

I wonder how would you use it with Nook Color. USB in it is used to transfer files and charge the battery. And, when transferring files the device can't do anything else. Nook has 3.5 speaker/headset output and no mic input. Good luck :)

Thanks for taking the time to up that video. Much appreciated. Repped and repped OP also.

In for 1... Seemed to hiccup when trying to pay via PayPal, but worked fine by card.
The estimated ship date listed on Lenovos website is 11/20/2012. Just thought I'd mention that in case its a factor for buyers.

keane007 10-31-2012 12:51 AM

I don't mind the wait. If anything, they'll cancel my order and give me a refund. Gonna replace my Phillip's portable mini audio bar which I bought for $9 sale too. I haven't seen it for months thanks to a sibling hogger. Thanks.

aniqa99 10-31-2012 02:01 AM

USB-powered...which is cool unless one of your two inputs is busted like mine.

star1029 11-01-2012 12:24 AM

Order delayed and order tracking link from email does not work :/

battle 11-01-2012 03:09 AM

The speaker is cute.

kdawg954 11-02-2012 09:52 AM

Mine just showed up at the front door. Bigger and heavier than I thought but they sure look stylish and of real solid build quality. I love the color, match perfectly with my red Lenovo Edge 14

These thing DEFINITELY improve the sound of your laptop . . . my goodness, it is night and day. I had mine all the way up and I had minimal distortion . . . truthfully I didn't even notice any. Great pickup for the price and if you have a plug with a USB end, these make great portable speakers for your MP3 player.

The only knock I have on these things is A. They need USB power to operate at all times . . . which we all know and B. Since they are a bit heavier and bigger than expected it would have been great if these came with a case . . . especially since they are marketed as portable.. Then again for 9 bucks I feel like I ripped Lenovo off.

Enjoy!!

DeeBeeRN 11-06-2012 12:19 AM

Mine were shipped with a signature required for delivery. I'm not normally home when UPS comes so I have to go pick them up. Seems no way to leave sig for these like FedEx will do. Can't believe I have to sign for an item less than $10. Probably Lenovo's default but almost enough to not get them...but then again it was a sd and I want them for my new Dell desktop.

You have the same issue like my sis, she bought a usb hub for more connectivity access. You may want to consider it.

Mine got delivered a week ago, it's pretty good for the price so my sis asked me to check if the sale was ongoing. She lucked out.
