Can't complain about free cases! The power supply, on the other hand, I wouldn't hook up to anything precious...these cheap supplies have a real likelihood of frying, especially considering that they have a supply of refurbished ones.

On paper..the rebate that you send to diablotek is processed in CA . Worst case you have the AG and the amazing consumer laws on your side. The newegg rebate is golden. Newegg will pay their rebates ..

Even with consumer protection laws, I wouldn't bother getting two cases. Not worth the time and hassle if something goes wrong.

Looks like Diablotek rebates are not so golden. Not any really recent complaints, just seeing older ones about the rebates taking 5+ month to process with customer intervention and some never showing up at all.

i just recently moved but my billing address is still my old address.

if i order it, the receipt will show my old billing address and my new shipping address. will i qualify for the rebate if i put down my new address as the address on the rebate form??? (so that the rebate will arrive at my new address)

Since 2 item colors have 2 separate UPC code numbers, you can get 1 of each color, just don't get 2 same item.

As a refurbished FAR unit, not a whole lot.

You just have to purchase it by 11/7, you have 30 days from the purchase date to submit the rebate.

But, don't quite understand why the case is not letting me do the usual online sign up for the rebate and then print the rebate form to mail it in. When I try to do it, get message:

"The type of submit you're trying is not allowed for this promotion."

It seems to be requiring a paperless rebate submission. Unusual?

after a second look, it says the rebate must be postmarked before 12/7. purchase date must be between 11/1 to 11/7. so it has a month for the product to ship and arrive. worst case scenario, is call the CSR and redeem MIR that way.

Each color, to me, is a separate rebate. I wouldn't order more than one per billing address if you aren't comfortable with eating $30 when they deny or modify your submission.

I think it was unlikely someone had a full build and found the power switch was wonky.

The way I read the Diablotek rebate at least, the same promotion covers both colors. Limit 1 total.

The only way they can not lose money on "promos" like these is to not fulfill the rebates. A certain number are not sent in, but the proportion is too low. If they have as good a reason for denying as someone getting 2 when it's limit 1, I suspect they will take advantage of it. If that's not enough, they just blow off a certain percentage of legit claims.

You can absolutely get your money if you start making noise, the question is whether it is worth the trouble. Last time I tried something like this, I didn't get my rebate on some FAR 2.5" enclosure. I complained to Newegg and Newegg contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer sent me a check, for a couple bucks less than the promised amount. Then it was not worth my trouble to complain.

Sparkle used to make very high quality power supplies that were 80Plus before there were even an 80Plus designation.

you should just order it because fighting it isnt hard.

if needed, just send an email or two to diablotek. if that doesnt work, just contact newegg. they'll back you up for sure. just make sure to fill out the rebates correctly and scan copies of each item for submission.

with a FAR motherboard deal, cheapo ddr3 ram, and amd quad-core processor deals for under $80, you could build a really good budget pc.

I'm taking advantage of these deals to slowly assemble parts for a new pc. im currently still using ddr2 8500 with a usb 2.0 case and phenom II 710x 2.6ghz processor that ive had for about 3+ years. time to upgrade!

Call me naive in hoping that the Diablotek rebate will be (relatively) pain-free, but I think the white case deal is very appealing. Nothing wrong with the black case being FAR, obviously, but I have a suspicion that the white version usually has a higher shipping fee tacked on. Man, I missed these deals by 1/2 hour again.

My experience when calling both rebate house and customer service to get two confirmirmations is that processing department and can take a different opinion. It has more often been consistent with the original claims but not always. I've eaten 5 of them in the past 6 months even though I wrote names down, exact time of communication and all details (not NewEgg).

What prompted my concern is that at the top right where the price is and the rebate link, it shows the economics of the transaction and not the $0 dollars. That prompted my reading the rebate suspecting they are not stackable that in fact it states.

Regarding the vendor/rebate house checking with the retailer, they do that automatically so folks can't return something and keep the rebate.

i would think they dont have the manpower to check every product purchased. also, i figured they'd just assume it hasnt been returned since you need to cut out the UPC for the mail in rebate. by cutting it out, it voids the return already.

You are the man! Excellent point on the email promotion that I get each morning but never read because I only check here for the deals, needing the comments and strategy before I move on anything.

Regarding vendor, rebate house, manpower, and UPC, some retailers and rebate houses appear to have that computerized, for example Advanced Auto. While speaking with the rebate house and orally giving them some numbers from my cash register receipt on the phone he said their access to Advance Auto's computer was down right then but when they could access it again he'll confirm my purchase and get back. And he did an hour later. So they were tied into some of the receipt data.

Some take back product without UPC, when UPC copy is required or when just writing the # is requested.

Note that the case box has TWO UPC's on it. Problem solved, all set for a nice freebie. My case looks brand new, and it's actually pretty nice (this is coming from someone with an Antec P280). It's a little cheap feeling, but nice looking and really thoughtfully made.

For the rebates should I submit the "Invoice Details" from the newegg website for the order or the invoice I received by e-mail? Both look pretty complete, does it matter which one you submit? Don't want to screw up with Diablotek

Well just in case anyone's interested it doesn't say Sparkle on it. It says FSP which I think is the OEM for Antec and Sparkle.

Sparkle was an independent brand and manufacturer, since acquired by FSP. I recall Delta and FSP as the other two brands most likely to manufacture power supplies likely to meet the specs on the data plate.

FSP is one Antec OEM, they have used others.

I guess you can be fairly sure that Seasonics are manufactured by Seasonic, but with only a little exaggeration you could say that anything could be OEM by anybody. Edit: these days... :)

The Diablotek manufacturer rebate says:

I was contemplating getting two cases like you did on one rebate form, but I stuck with one per address because the rebate instructions were a little unclear.

I sent both the original UPCs from the product box to Diablotek, attached with tape, in the middle of the rebate form above the name field. I didn't really want to staple those gigantic UPCs in the center of the form. Good enough... I'm sure I'll be calling them in 5 months when we still don't have our rebates. There is a 4-pin USB plug attached to the blue USB 3.0 plug for front panel USB connection. Can we just connect this to the 4-pin USB 2.0 header on motherboard?

To my knowledge, connecting a USB 2.0 will not fit to a USB 3.0 as the USB 3.0 is a 20 pin and not sure hw many pin is the USB 2.0 but I am sure it is less which will not fit with each other.

You are right. But there are two plugs on the end of the cable to the front USB 3.0 ports. One is a blue 20-pin female USB 3.0. The other one is a black 10-pin female with a "USB" white mark. To me it seems there is a 2.0 to 3.0 inline adapter inside. Thanks.

I'm a bit surprised that the manufacturer rebate came BEFORE Newegg's as well.

But... you have to keep in mind that the same rebate processing center that does Kaspersky Rebates is fulfilling the Newegg Rebates. Kaspersky rebates take like a full 3 months easily. :shake:

I received the $30 rebate from 3 Dragon Rebates today. Still waiting for newegg one.

Sent it in near the end and received the Dragon rebate today. They didn't even bother to seal the envelope except for a tiny dot in the left corner.

Received $30 3 Dragon rebate in check on 01/15/2013. WOW, Newegg rebate is slower than manufacturer's. And TigerDirect rebate is much faster than Newegg rebate.

newegg removed all history related to this order. can't find my order online, newegg rebate system shows no records of this rebate...

Both order history and rebate record exist for me. Don't know why you can't see them.

Same here. I called them earlier this week, and they said the rebate would be mailed out in mid-February. I can wait another week before I raise hell through Newegg CSRs.

Yeah, it looks like they are sending them out in batches.

A couple of other Newegg Rebate offers were mailed out to me last week according to the tracking site.

The earliest ones (Arctic Cooling MX-2 Round #1 and Diablotek) still haven't been sent out.

You gotta remember that this is the same processor as Kaspersky, so they take a very long time, but they are reliable. I would anticipate that we should all receive these by the end of February, since Kaspersky rebates usually take 12 to 14 weeks.

Just got my $19.99 rebate card this morning as well as my $10.99 rebate card for the Newegg Artic Thermal Paste deal.

i just got my $19.99 newegg rebate for the diablotek black case! both rebates finally received :)

Finally got mine too.

I just went with the white case and boy... No wonder this thing was free, it's a cheap case. That $10 AR case from 2 days ago will probably beat it. I'll find out when I get it this week.

I guess it does have those filters on the bottom..and a window, but not even a top fan mount or side panel fan mount. I'm limited what I can put in as far as good air flow for a case that is >$100 non-refurbished. But hey, it was free.. After a 4 month rebate wait, just my 2 cents.

Received long-awaited rebate for the white case (wanted black version) yesterday - 02/25/2013. Just have some time to post here.

That Cooler Master case from TigerDirect sure beats this one. Besides foam filters on the bottom and front, the Diablotek case has a bottom mount for a 120 mm case fan, I guess. Be careful when you mount a mobo to the base or a graphics card to the rear. Don't mount them too tight. Otherwise you are gonna lose threads in the holes. Cheap steel causes this. All in all it is free finally.

I contacted them, and they said that PO Boxes aren ot valid (even though it doesn't say it on the rebate form)

So, they are now sending out the $20. This has been some crazy waiting for $20.

I didn't receive the rebate card from Newegg. So I contacted them and got this reply "A resubmission can take 4-6 weeks to process." So another month or two.

Finally got it yesterday.
