How early should you be at stores on Black Friday?

I've never participated in shopping on Black Friday.
I was looking at last years deals to get an idea of what deals could go on this year.

I'm mainly trying to get an xbox 360 with kinect, so Wal-Mart seems to be the #1 choice this year.

I'm just confused how early should I be at Wal-Mart in order to be able to grab an xbox 360 w/ kinect deal?

24 hours in advance bro. Stand by pallet.

UrMomsEx 11-03-2012 09:46 AM

Start Monday the 19th.

Why start the 19th? As long as your Walmart is 24 hours, just set up camp now.

Not where I live. Some dude got tasered and cuffed over a video game at my Walmart last BF. Might have to consider bringing some this go around.

Honestly thought you were joking, but this guy's real:
Triforce Johnson [kotaku.com]

Not only was he first in line, he walked THREE HOURS back to the Nintendo World store from his place in Brooklyn when they reopened after Sandy.

To be quite honest, I would wait first to see what the sale is going to be. My Wal-Mart last year had the Xbox 360 with Kinect there a while. I would say just go there around 10ish and wait in line. Honestly you should try online as well (pretty certain these were online, and typically amazon likes to one up Wal-Mart).

It isnt surprising if you know who he is or follow the Fighting Game Community. He is just some dude that used to hustle the top fighting game players and now has nothing. He has always been a nintendo fanboy and is kind of delusional about things.

Why would you think Wal-Mart would be a good place for a 360?

Save a life and get a better deal at Target... or mailorder.

One other thing is to check Thanksgiving deals.
For what I was interested in last year, Thanksgiving day had some great deals ($30 for a PS3 Dualshock 3 controller at Meijer).
Might even be some great online deals if you can tolerate the shipping wait (buying on Friday you likely won't have it shipped til Monday and won't see it til Wednesday or Thursday).

Dude is just doing it for his little pro gaming crew.

you're already too late, it's never too early to line up for 20% off some bath towels and a BOGO earbud headphones....

Ths.Romey74 11-04-2012 12:05 PM

With how they start earlier every year... You might wanna go now

codym 11-04-2012 01:07 PM

At least 24 hours prior so you can be a smuck like everyone else waiting in line! Enjoy!

In-store deals are not that good, stores just puts junk stuff on sale. Online deals are wayyyy better.
