Barclays NFL CC No Annual Fee - $400 Statement Credit after $1000 spend in 90 days YMMV

1 Attachment(s)
The links for NFL Barclay's card which gives 400$ as a statement credit after spending 1000$ has already been posted. But only the links for the Generic NFL card, bears, packers and cowboys have been posted. I am posting the links of other teams. It took me a while to figure this out and I have already posted the same in Flyertalk as well.

Although this is a repost, I figured people could apply to the teams that they care for instead of just getting the card for 400$ and have a card of a team they did not care for.
You can also call to apply - 1-866-951-7194 to apply

It seems like "Visa cards are not getting approved and Mastercards are getting approved. I would apply for a mastercard, get the bonus and then if you want to keep the card , change the card to the team you follow. Ofcourse I have not tried it, so it is a big YMMV"

Please be kind, this is my very first post.

Here are the links and if they dont work please let me know. Please check the terms/conditions in the application page for the 40000 point bonus which equals 400$ of statement credit spelled out. Also for people who already have the 400$ bonus card or 200$ bonus card, I do not know if you will get a second card. It all depends on your credit worthiness and the snooty Barclays customer service.

Got the card and 41.XXX point (the 1.XXX comes from $1000+ I purchased). Pay attention when you use the point. If you pay for purchase with 25.01 for example you will lost 2600 point not 2501 point. So you will not get all $400 (a little bit less) but try to apply it wisely.

THIS OFFER IS DEAD, DEAD, DEAD. THE NOV20 LINK WILL TAKE YOU TO WHAT LOOKS LIKE A WORKING APPLICATION FOR THE 40,000 PT/$400 OFFER - WHICH WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR REVIEW - BUT BARCLAYS WILL NOT APPROVE IT NO MATTER WHAT YOUR CREDIT RATING BECAUSE THE OFFER HAS EXPIRED (TRIED IT AND WAS TOLD THAT BY BARCLAYS).

Nov 20: DEAD.
- All links in first post lead to an "Expired Offer"
DEAD - Steelers Card
https://www.barclaycardus.com/app/japply/WebAppGate.jsp?obchannel=033&browserUserAgent=Mozilla%2F5.0+%28Windows+NT+6.1%3B+rv%3A16.0%29+Gecko%2F20100101+Firefox%2F16.0&campaignId=1717&clickid=&outboundAdLocation=365&sqGroup=20&prodidreq=CCVVS48890&obcreative=0000000&product.IowaEnable=false&partne rid=1654&ibchannel=03&appcreative=03570&landcreative=000000&referrerid=BCRWDS111&listid=&obadloc=365&landpage=00000&campaignid=0001717&VASPPP=CPDC0014&legacy=true

So I was denied as per my previous posts. I called them up and they said some of my information "wasn't matching with their records." She asked me a few questions and then I was magically approved for $8k. My suggestion to anyone who is flat out denied is to call them. Also, I called the number in the wiki and they told me I needed to call a different department. The number was 888-232-0776.

Nov 8: Semi-DEAD. All of the links result in an "expired offer" message, except for the links that says working links in the first post. Till someone applies and update it here, we will not know if the links actually leads to application approval.

Bummer for people who already have the $200 bonus card:
Unless otherwise stated in the offer, these bonuses and/or awards are intended for persons who are not, and have not previously been, Barclays NFL Extra Points cardmembers. You understand and agree that, unless we otherwise state, you are no longer eligible to receive these bonuses and/or awards for any new NFL Extra Points account after your first NFL Extra Points credit card account is opened. If you receive a bonus or award for which you are not eligible, we may revoke the bonus or award, or reduce your Points by the amount of the award, or charge your account for the fair value of the bonus or award, at our option.

UPDATE: The 49ers Visa Card will automatically decline everyone before a credit pull due to an expired offer. I assume it's the same for a good chunk of these cards.

Main page of my account details, click the "Rewards Program Terms & Conditions"

B) First Use Bonus Points - After using your Extra Points card to make an initial purchase or balance transfer, you will be eligible
to receive a one-time bonus award of ten thousand (10,000) Points. Bonus Points will be posted at the close of your first billing
statement after an initial qualifying purchase or balance transfer is made. Balance Transfer Checks do not qualify for bonus Points.

(B) Bonus Points - Forty thousand (40,000) Bonus Points will be awarded after at least $1000.00 in Net Purchases (that are not later returned or rescinded) in the first 90 days after account opening. Bonus Points will be posted at the close of your first billing statement after an initial qualifying purchase or balance transfer is made. Balance Transfer Checks do not qualify for bonus points.
Right on the main page, and what it said before I signed up:

----------------------------------

FAQ:
1. Can I still get the 50,000 points for signing up?
No, the 10,000 points for first purchase is dead. You can still get the 40,000 statement credit, however ($400).

2. I signed up for team ____, but got the Packers! What the heck!
Some people seem to be experiencing this. Call 866-421-8004 and have them change it.

3. How much do I have to spend to get the points?
You must spend $1,000 in 3 months.

4. What are the restrictions for spending $1,000
Purchases must be over $25.00.
- This is somewhat true. You need to have charges that are more than $25 to apply your credits to.
Just verified with my copy paper of ToS: It doesn't matter what amounts are spent to get to $1000, it just has to be NET $1000 without any refunds or things that get pulled.

"Card members may redeem points for a variety of rewards including NFL gift cards, certain NFL merchandise, NFL collectibles, NFL based experiences, and cash back via a statement credit towards any purchase transactions of $25 or more that posted to your account within the last 90 days."

5. Do gift card purchases work with this deal?
Yes, you may purchase gift cards, but they MUST be from a store: Ex. you can't order an AMEX gift card online.
YMMV, but was able to buy AMEX giftcards from AMEX and get rewards

Nov. 5, 2012 update: Green Bay Packers MasterCards seems to be getting approved; other teams' cards, not so much, or people are waiting to hear. Perhaps a best bet: go with the Packers . . . .

Nov. 7, 2012 late afternoon update: Despite what some Barclays telephone reps. have told people (the Barclays phone reps. just don't know about this promotion, and don't have the information), the promotion still is on and applications still are being granted, at least for Green Bay Packers MasterCards.

SMAX 11-03-2012 07:27 PM

thanks. I am sure I am the only person in the world with a Rams card.

kylefifa 11-03-2012 07:28 PM

U sure we will get 400 other than 200? Could u please post the 400 link?

rebelx 11-03-2012 07:31 PM

I don't think they let you stack these, right? Can't get the Visa (I got in on the $200 deal) and this time try for the Mastercard to get $400?

I tried. scored both. However, customer rep did question me about it but mine was one VISA and other mastercard. I think it depends on customer service rep.

idk if you wanna try it or not coz if we didn't get it then there will be a hard pull unnecessarily.

What was your excuse in applying for the second one? And I don't see myself the $400 coming up when I use any of these links. Am I missing something?

I said, I don't have mastercard with barclays and would like to get mastercard (I applied for visa 200 deal)

if they say that they can't give you more credit then ask them to distribute credit between cards.

Barclay’s Credit Card Reconsideration

I just got approved. I clicked the very first link---ru sure you get 40000 points ? I blew past the fine print.
Never mind---I read it. Thi sis legit. Unlike the one from the other day. Repped

Duckula 11-03-2012 09:20 PM

It is infact for the $400 reward. Look for 40,000 reward points in the terms and conditions.

It doesn't matter if you ask me. If you haven't recently applied to Barclay's you might be approved right away. If it goes to pending you would have to tell them why you need a second card. On the flip side, if they see an uptick in applications, they might shut this down. So it is better to apply sooner than later

topcat2001 11-03-2012 10:11 PM

I applied for and was instantly approved for the MasterCard. I've never had this card before. I applied again for the Visa a few minutes later but that is pending decision.

How do we know on the initial application page that there would be a credit of $400 or 40,000 points for establishing this new account. I dont see anything mentioned regarding this on the application of the terms and conditions.

Find the "terms and conditions" link on the application page and you'll find the bonus offer of 40,000 points after spending $1000 in 90 days.

Earning Points

Cardmembers earn Extra Points (“Points”) in the Program. Cardmembers earn Points in the following amounts:

(A) Points are awarded based on Net Purchases for each NFL and DirecTV® purchase transaction at a rate of two (2) Points per dollar ($1.00) spent based on the merchant category code. Cardmembers will also earn one (1) Point for every dollar ($1.00) spent on all other Net Purchases on the Account. NFL purchase transactions are Net Purchases made at NFLShop.com, participating NFL team retail and online stores and NFL Team stadiums. DirecTV® purchase transactions are Net Purchases made directly with DirecTV®. Purchases not eligible to receive the 2 Points per dollar ($1.00) are any purchases that do not fall under these qualifying merchant categories. We do not determine whether merchants correctly identify and bill transactions as being made (or not made) at any of these designated categories. Please note that it is possible that some merchant categories may not meet our eligibility criteria. Additional qualifying merchant categories may be added in the future that will qualify for the 2 Points per dollar ($1.00).

There is no limit to the amount of Points that you can earn. Points are not transferable and cannot be transferred or sold. Points post to your monthly statement unless your Account is closed earlier whether by you or by Barclays

Definite thumbs up for the poster for letting people know the deal is back !!

Balance Transfer Checks do not qualify for bonus points.

pay some bills with the CC, and everything else you do every day (grocery, eating out, gas) youll easily hit $1000 in 90 days

shade45 11-04-2012 01:48 AM

Why are you guys applying both MC and Visa? i though this deal is for one card only?

If i apply for both MC and Visa.. do you think i'll get $400 each ($800) for $2000 spend?

Thanks

My guess would be sponsorship. Teams may have individual deals, though it doesnt match the NFL's M.O. on being super controlling over everything.

SL 11-04-2012 01:06 AM

anyone have the $400 link to the non-team NFL Visa card?

Click on terms and conditions at top, in red. Then scroll down to Reward rules, then read the earning points section. 40k points is equal to a $400 statement credit.

I tried to get both cards and was instantly approved for one card, but was not for the other.

aaba78 11-04-2012 06:06 AM

but what if you were to be approved...will you get the 40k on the second card

your saying no because you didnt get the card?

If I were to be approved for second card they would have to adhere to the written terms and conditions for the application.

wozzybear 11-04-2012 06:31 AM

OK, what I think I'm seeing is that people are being instantly approved for MCs but not for Visas, correct? My team is offered in Visa, but while I like my team, I like instant approval more...

Yes I'm noticing that too, is there any Team people applied for on a Visa card and got instant approval?

Dealmasterx 11-04-2012 06:40 AM

The visa has to be dead. I tried the Visa (didn't read the thread first) and got more time needed. I clicked on the link to check status and it said no application had been received. I then went back in and applied for a MC and instantly approved.

Approved instantly for Mastercard. $7,000 limit, 815 credit score. Weird thing was it said for the Packers card when I selected another team.

Dealmasterx 11-04-2012 06:43 AM

Quick question. It is $400 after spending $1000. How long does it take to get the points? Also, can I use the $400 credit to pay on part of the $1000 purchase or does it have to be a new purchase on top of the $1000?

Instant approval for GB MC (didn't bother trying a different team) for $8k. Thanks OP.

Sakana 11-04-2012 06:54 AM

I believe the 40k bonus has been expired. I tried to apply as well and when it was up to the confirmation where the terms and condition appears again, if you read the Reward section, there's nothing mention about the 40k bonus. So I don't think it's valid anymore, at least to me, it is not.

Do any of you guys have high utilization right now? My score is great but I'm abusing a 0 APR credit card ($4888/$6500 atm) . I do have the funds to pay it off anytime, but the statement won't update to the credit bureau for quite a bit. My score is about 750.

i used the points as a credit on my account... the whole $400... unless they points are worth more using them for tickets i would just use them as cash,, pay for the tickets with the credit card and apply the credit.. dump your cell phone bill or something on it and use you points towards it...

I cannot guarantee this works, but someone in flyertalk said once they got the bonus they were able to change the card to the team they follow. So YMMV. But I would first get the bonus before doing the change.

I applied on phone with rep and he said the promotion would hold if you are approved for both, but you can only apply for one card at a time, read about problems with visa, so applied for that while on phone, was instantly approved, then applied online for mastercard when I hung up, and says that approval is pending. hopefully that will come through too!

"Cardmembers may redeem Points for a variety of rewards including NFL gift cards, certain NFL merchandise, NFL collectibles, NFL based experiences, and cash back via a statement credit towards any purchase transactions of $25 or more that posted to your account within the last 90 days."

From the TOC, stupid question I think but what does that last line mean? To apply the 400 to a statement credit, do the purchases have to be for $25+ ? Or is my daily $2 coffee going to be eligible to apply the statement credit to?

RandallMarshall 11-04-2012 08:04 AM

Aren't you guys afraid of all the hard inquiries on your credit for applying to multiple cards? I would like to get on this but it seems only Mastercards are approving and I don't dare betray the 49ers. :) $400 is mighty tempting. I would have to spend $40,000 on my current cards to get this much cash back. I need a new card anyways because I don't want to pay the Delta sky miles yearly fee. Is this card worth keeping long term? (Easy to pay online? Hassle free?) Thanks!

you are right, you can't get credit for a $2 coffee it has to be at least $25 to be eligable for the reimbursement credit

I would say if you pay your bills on time and you have a good credit go for it, Get the mastercard and sock it after you hit the spend and bonus. Barclays sent a promotion to current cardholders "spend 500 each month for 3 months and get 200 back". Ofcourse you can always try to convert it to 49ers and see what happens after you get the bonus

Got the Eagles mastercard, and info stated:

(B) Bonus Points - Forty thousand (40,000) Bonus Points will be awarded after at least $1000.00 in Net Purchases (that are not later returned or rescinded) in the first 90 days after account opening. Bonus Points will be posted at the close of your first billing statement after an initial qualifying purchase or balance transfer is made. Balance Transfer Checks do not qualify for bonus points.

Really surprised on the $1,000 credit limit it gave me. I have perfect credit, and only 2 other cards that always are paid off right away, and my limit on those is a lot higher

This doesn't look like a good general rewards card, it looks to be all NFL/Direct TV purchasing related to get half decent rewards. I think everyone here is doing it for the $400 bonus, then throw the card in a drawer.

Here is the rewards system:

I would have to spend $40,000 on my current cards to get this much cash back. I need a new card anyways because I don't want to pay the Delta sky miles yearly fee. Is this card worth keeping long term? (Easy to pay online? Hassle free?) Thanks!

How many credit cards is too many in the eyes of credit card companies? I'm only at 2 which is pretty low but curious nonetheless.

Is this deal dead? I no longer see the 40,000 points offer in the terms and conditions.

My mother-in-law has at least 8 different credit cards between visa, mastercard, and discover. Her credit was bad from a divorce over 10 years ago. It got better about a year ago, and she just kept applying and getting, and for some reason she gets high limits too. Her credit is only between ok-good, and mine is considered great, and I got declined for an offer a couple months back. Don't get it sometimes

Wife and I applied for this card a month or so ago. We use our CC's for everything, and pay them off every month. We'll see how the credit works on the next statement. It's taken me several years to amass $500 on my Discover, but one month to get $400? Geesh, I need to start taking advantage of these offers more often.

CDU357 11-04-2012 08:27 AM

darn, I applied for last $200 deal and got a MC. Is there anyone lucky enough to get Visa approved? from this thread it does not seem to be the case?

davesquires 11-04-2012 08:28 AM

MC application under review. 740 credit score but did just finance a car 2 weeks ago, not sure if that will have anything to do with it.

JohnnySuperHero 11-04-2012 08:30 AM

WTF....not available for residents of Iowa? Wonder if that is a page error. The state is not included in the list.

Edit: Those sob's! "This offer is available only to applicants who are residents of the United States, with the exception of Iowa, Puerto Rico and the US territories"

Not even the card I applied for like others. Does anyone know how to cancel these applications (or does anyone know if that message means declined?)???

I agree with what others have said. Don't bother with the Visa cards just apply for the GB Mastercard. I got approved for $7,500 instantly on that one

Tried Jets Mastercard.
741 CK score.

prvn133t 11-04-2012 08:33 AM

Applying for this card will have any impact on credit score?

jnelson369 11-04-2012 08:35 AM

Uh oh..

Right on the main page, and what it said before I signed up:

40,000 points for $1K spent in first 90 days First Use Bonus

Does this mean I get $100 for using it the first time, and $400 more after I spend $1,000, or does that mean I have a phone call in the near future when I put $1,000 on it?

ymarker 11-04-2012 08:36 AM

Statement credit... Buy $400 in whatever you want (even hookers if they take visa/mastercard), and just redeem reward for a statement credit.

suray 11-04-2012 08:47 AM

Ok I see the 40000 that is equvalent to $400, but can you get cash back or MC/Visa giftcard, or do you have to go and redeem "GIFTS" from their website. Could be that the stuff they are offereing for $400 is not worth $400. Anyone have a link on where to redeem. Thanks in advance

I didn't get instant approval for mastercard and I have no credit card debt, owned a home for 4 years now and have a car payment and never missed any payments. So not sure what the hold up is.. I've never gotten a instant approval but always get approved after a few weeks with credit cards.

RandallMarshall 11-04-2012 08:57 AM

I decided to call in hopes of getting approved easier for the 49ers Visa Signature card. Sadly, they still have to have the application reviewed before approval. They confirmed without me asking the 40,000 bonus points offer. They also said the Visa Signature feature is only offered to those with exceptional credit. The rest will receive a normal Visa card. My guess is this is probably why no one is instantly approved for the Visa cards. It's probably very difficult to receive the Signature card and requires further review just in case. This kind of bugs me though as I was really wanting the Visa Signature portion as well.

My Credit Karma score is 759 so lets hope that helps!

EDIT: Well when I went to the application status it looks like I was denied? Weird that they didn't tell me on the phone. "Currently we are unable to offer you a credit card issued by Barclays Bank Delaware. Details on why we could not make you a credit offer will be mailed to you."

Typically card issuers allow 3-4 cards for each customer. Number of total accounts only matters when it is low, meaning you don't have a good credit profile. However, if getting too many new cards within a short period of time, your average life of all cards gets diluted and becomes very low. This will hurt your score somewhat and only time can fix it. Again, average life of accounts is one of factors used to determin the final score but not weighted heavily as the others.

NEVER close the oldest accounts to maintain good average life of accounts.

Read:

(B) Bonus Points - Forty thousand (40,000) Bonus Points will be awarded after at least $1000.00 in Net Purchases (that are not later returned or rescinded) in the first 90 days after account opening.

1. look for "Please read the Terms and Conditions for important information about rates, fees and other costs before applying." towards top of app.
2. Search for "40,000"

Yes also ran into the problem with the Jets/Giants cards. Already have a Bills Visa but decided to take a shot and went for the Giants MC. Got the "need time to review" response. I thought I'd get shot down but $400 is worth 10pts or so on my credit report.

Now just read this:

"We're in the process of reviewing the information you provided for your Dallas Cowboys Extra Points MasterCard application"

Haha WTF!

When you're in the underwriting stage, as long as everything else flies, they should not know if you open new credit, so long as you're not applying for refinancing through Barclay (some damn how). Only under very specific circumstances will they need to repull credit, like if your credit report is no longer valid (over 90 days old).

Kant 11-04-2012 09:16 AM

CK score of 750, applied for MC and went to review.

Called customer service number and spoke with someone who told me that they had no record of my application...he transferred me to the credit card application number, which has three basic touchtone options. When I press the option to check the status of an existing application, the phone call cut out. (The application phone number is 1-800-307-0341.)

I called the number back and pressed 0, which led me to a real person.

She told me that the previous person I spoke with was incorrect, and that I did have an application pending. I, of course, inquired as to the pending status and the most information I could get (really guys, I tried), was to call this reconsideration number (1-800-308-6942) in 3-4 days.

As I mentioned, 750 CK score, no late payments, great history... I also have a Barclay NFL visa card that I applied for back in Feb. of 2012. I also applied for the Seahawks card and it's being referenced to as a Packers card on the review screen (FWIW).

Also, the only reason why not creating debt is important because at the final underwriting stage if your debt to income ends up going on the high side, you may get declined. If you open the card now, and don't spend anything. Nothing technically gets affected. Take everything anyone says with a grain of salt, so I'm not saying you should go for it, but just a tad bit more information for you.

Actually I just edited my post, but the CSR is changing the team for me before they ship it out. Number is in my post ;)
They are Fedexing it overnight for free/

Oh, and I don't know why my limit was higher. I'm only at 11k/yr

Does anyone see a reason why I can't just purchase a $1000 Amex gift card and eat the $5 fee (or 2 $500 gift cards if there is a $$ limit)?

From the TOC, stupid question I think but what does that last line mean? To apply the 400 to a statement credit, do the purchases have to be for $25+ ? Or is my daily $2 coffee going to be eligible to apply the statement credit to?

I want to make sure im clear on this. Once i receive the 40,000 points which = $400 i can only apply that towards the bill on any purchases over $25? So lets say i make a bunch of under $25 purchases in a month and then one $100 purchase. I can only apply a $100 statement credit since all my other purchases are under $25?

I usually just buy Costco cash cards online for these types of offers. I buy all my gas and most of my groceries from there. When I did this a few months ago, I got the $400 credit applied before my first payment was due.

That is certainly how it sounds which is why I am more interested in doing the Amex prepaid so I can spend as I want and apply the credit before even spending the money!!

Got instantly approved for MC Packers (honestly, did not care for a team). Credit score 775 as of a week ago when I applied for Discover CC. Was not sure whether to put household income or individual...put household and got a credit line of $6,500.

If you made that $1000 purchase (one of which happens to be $400 or above), would'nt it just do it...

EDIT: Talked to a CSR and she is changing my team-- and confirming that I still get the bonus.
Number for that: 866-421-8004

Btw got approved for MC (I'm a student):
Limit 1700
Credit Score 765

What's your history like? Have you had any other credit cards?

cbtexan04 11-04-2012 09:43 AM

So let me just sum up what happened for me:

I'm a student -- 765 credit -- earning 11k/yr.
Applied for Texans card, instead given a Packer's card with 1700 limit.

I called the CSR (866-421-8004) and she changed my team for me before it shipped.
She also confirmed that I will not lose the 40,000 point promotion by changing the team.
Finally, she is sending the card via Fedex overnight for free, because of the hassle. YMMV

If I purchased an Amex gift card from CVS, how does the credit card company know what I purchased? Is there something from the merchant that tells the card company what it is?

The offer states:

The following transactions are not considered Net Purchases and do not earn Points: Account fees, interest, convenience checks, balance transfers, cash advances, cash equivalents as defined in your Cardmember Agreement, and purchases made by or for business or commercial purposes. In addition, any Points awarded on purchases that are subsequently returned will be deducted from your total, and your Points balance will be adjusted accordingly.

Cash Equivalent Purchases: The purchase of money orders, travelers' checks, foreign currency, lottery tickets, gambling chips, wire transfers and other similar transactions are treated as cash advances. Please see the Cardmember Agreement that will accompany your credit card upon account opening for more details.

You wouldnt be able to apply the $400 towards that $1000 unless you are going to carry the $1000 balance and pay interest till the points are available.

I have 1 Discover Card (2 years) and 1 Chase Freedom (a Visa, for 1 year).
Never missed a payment, and only have 2 hard inquiries atm.

Green Bay Packers Extra Points MasterCard with a Credit Line of $600.00

(1) its a damn packers card
(2) 600 limit means this deal is worthless!!! UGGHH (EDIT: Nevermind, didnt think of just paying it off every month till I reach $1000 lol)

You can pay as you charge. Charge $600 day one and pay day 2, charge $500 day three and pay day 4, and so on.

Are you then saying that we CAN or CAN'T use this to buy gift cards? Technically gift cards aren't mentioned in that clause :D

In my opinion a gift card is most certainly a cash equivalent, but as I said, I don't know if the cc company has anyway to know what your really purchased and therefore whether they can exclude the purchase. In short, the answer is I don't know.

For example, on my Amex, my last CVS purchase was categorized as:

Category: Merchandise & Supplies - Pharmacies

Now if I purchased an Amex gift card there, I don't think the CC company would have any way of identifying that. However, if I purchased it directly from the Amex site I think that would be a problem.

Many people buy gift cards without an issue. Why do they even care if you bought a gift card? They still get paid from the merchant and interest from you if you leave a balance.

I don't think they look at what is bought, just who the charge is from. If the gift cards at bought from CVS, the charge on the statement should be from CVS and be ok. Now if you have a charge on there from another creditcard company they may consider that a balnce transfer and not be valid for the offer. When I purchase cash cards from costco, the credit card statement just says purchase from costco.com, nothing about the item actually purchased. I think they use a transaction ID to see if the transaction was returned not the actual product item purchased

Dealmasterx 11-04-2012 09:54 AM

Who needs to buy gift cards. Pay your cell phone bill, internet, car insurance, and any other bill that will let you in one month and you will be close to $1000 or over.

CSR fixed my card to the correct team.. Also asked for a credit incease of $1500 ($2100 total) and they approved it..

Thanks for that phone number!

As for redeeming 40,000 points, pay with points seems to be a better option (when you spend another $400 after paying off $1000). Other options are gift cards to NFL.com, NFL apparel and merchandize. Wish I could just get a check for $400.

Not everyone has such expenses (or the ability to pay them by credit card). I was providing an alternative for these people.

Thanks OP. I got approved for $6000

a cash equivalent would be something that could be used as cash in the same circumstance--for example you cant use a cash advance because that is equal to having the cash and spending it on anything--a gift card could only be used where that gift card was accepted--ive always bought gift cards with these deals and never had a problem

I agree, gift cards are not the same as cash. I have also done the gift card trick in the past. It's still a purchase, and it doesn't matter if it was a loaf of bread or a gift card.

applied for a Mastercard (got review pending notice) then tried for a Visa card (got the same "review pending" mssg) WTF??? My credit score is a few points shy of 800. I called to cancel the Mastercard application but the CSR said i can only cancel once I received that card. Failed!

Killerz 11-04-2012 10:25 AM

Applied for a Giants card and got the processing bullshit. When I check status I was told Cowboys card. When I called, the woman said to call back after a few hours to check status and she said the site might just be set to a default team name but she can change it after the fact.
