Hmm is the hdd really 5400rpm? On Lenovo's site you can only get it in 7200RPM...

Nice that it's touchscreen, and nice that it's got great screen resolution. But I need better performance--more RAM, more HD. Costco has a nice alternative for people who care about those kinds of specs, and it runs on Windows 7, so you can decide whether and when to "upgrade" (get stuck with) Windows 8. http://slickdeals.net/f/5494422-L...st54755962

The ThinkPad is the superior machine. It's a premium brand that's durable, upgradeable, and highly repairable. Ram is cheap. I'd buy the ThinkPad and replace the Ram and still be getting a better deal.

And Windows 8 is nice with Start8 or Classic Start installed. Once you bypass the metro screen you have a really zippy OS.

Yup! Real easy too. just pop off the door on the right side and slide the 2.5" drive out. Careful thoe, you need a low profile 7mm 2.5" instead of the standard 9mm

This is a full fledged windows 8 machine... not windows 8 RT. The yoga 11 and this are comparing oranges to bananas. This is MUCH faster than the yoga and more of a business focused convertible.

Well, I bought this Monday of this week and have it still sealed with the receipt. I am going to simply try to stroll in around mid morning and get them to price adjust it. If not, then I will just return it. Will see how it goes. I am not really sure how they could refuse a price match to their own advertisement - Their site states they will guarantee price for 14 days.

I see that this is not a door buster item but available all weekend. Do we think this is a sell out item in the first hour or will this last a day.

The Leesburg, Va Staples did not keep this item in stock. I forgot to check the site before I went to bed otherwise I would have surely gotten one online! Currently OOS online :(

Glad I just pulled the trigger without over thinking this. I would have been annoyed that it sold out so fast. Got in though. As for reselling on eBay (someone asked earlier). I really don't think you would make any money after all the BS fees. Totally not worth it in my opinion. But at $750 (with tax) it seems like a warm enough deal. I hope I like it.

BTW, Staples CSR over chat confirmed return policy is extended until 1/12/2013 for this with no restocking or open box fee.

Woohoo! I called a local Staples that was listed as 'low stock' this evening and the salesperson offered to call and find one locally. I wait for five minutes, and it was music... 'My manager found one in the back.' Score! Such a nice laptop for the money.

My earlier reservation ended up getting canceled due to the fact they could not find the item in the store. I called all the stores within a 30 mile radius and got extremely lucky! Someone ended up returning one to the original store I went to on black Friday. They had opened it and realized they couldn't work a certain software on it. I was able to get an extra 5% off because it was an open box item. They basically took care of taxes. I've been playing around with it for the past day and it's awesome!

Did anyone who else ordered this have the confirmation that it would come on the 27th? I ordered it with it saying that the estimated arrival date is tomorrow but every time I go to their site, it says that it has not shipped. I was wondering if anyone had insight to how staples updates their information page, I have never ordered from them before.

What is everyones feeling on the battery? Considering returning it b/c it barely gets 4 hrs.

I am kinda thinking the same thing... battery life is short and the fan is super loud. I like the computer overall though and I am really debating keeping mine. So how does a return work if I ordered mine online? I think I read that the window is 14 days from purchase... I have a 256 SSD that I am hoping comes in soon so I can install that and see if that helps with some of the noise (I am a law student so I am in the library where people give you bad looks if you are loud at all).

Just in case anyone is wondering, returning to a Brick and Mortar staples was no problem. I just had to let mine go, low battery life and annoying fan really did me in. The straw that broke the camels back was when I had not used the computer all day (left it in my laptop bag the entire day after charging it all night) and I went to watch some netflix in bed. It fired up, then powered down and would not turn back on. At first I thought it was a hardware problem, but turned out that it just needed power. Maybe something was wrong with mine, but eh... bye bye twist.
