•Solid add-on storage for all your digital ¿les •Stackable desktop design •Smooth, textured body for solid good looks •Fast USB 3.0 Interface •AC Power Adapter •3.5 inch External Hard Disk Drive Hmmm... any coupons to sweeten the deal? I'm looking to stock a 4 bay NAS. |
Just bought 2 of them. Good price.
|
From one of the NewEgg reviews: "I immediately tore it open and got the bare drive out to use internally. Please note that if you plan on doing that, it is near impossible to open it without damaging the case and will most likely void your warranty."
Darn. I was definately going to open these up, but I want the warranty. |
Can't find many reviews, only found this from amazon which is split 50/50 ... http://www.amazon.com/Touro-Deskt...B007IGCSRM
I'm on the hunt for a 1-2TB external, but would be willing to wait for BF. |
In 4 1. 10X OP!
|
2.5" would be nice, but this is still the best price I've seen for 2TB in a while and I really do need an external drive.
EDIT: Now I finally got to use my $10 OfficeMax gift card from a cancellation they did last year. :) Quote:

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger and returning in store worst case. I didn't find on their website if you could return online purchases in store? https://www.officemax.com/custome...nd_Returns
|
Might have to jump on this to use with my router since the crud-tastic Seagate doesn't work when hooked to a router via USB.
|
Doesn't look like Staples carries it... no price match and use of rewards... :(

lack of review on this. some mention about the disk is formatted with 512e advance format disk and only can be used with windows 7. Not sure what it means. but I guess you can always reformat the disk to FAT32 if you concern about compatibility.

Damn manufacturers and their limitations! |
Anyone has multiple use phone order coupon?
Thanks |
If you can do an in-store pick up you can try using this coupon.
http://slickdeals.net/f/5441900-O...8-B-M-YMMV My brother went to an officemax yesterday and bought a floor mat for office chairs and it worked. Still YMMV. |
Anyone know if OM takes competitor coupons, specifically Staples?
TIA! |
Damn you slickdeals... every time something like this comes on. I think to myself... I could ALWAYS use another HD...

Nice price. In for 2.

So instead of using the coupon I posted, I am going to go through CB. Is it possible to stack ebate and discover CB? Go through ebate and paste in the link for discover and go through discover?
Or should I not bother? |

BTW, what is the 25 off 75 that you are referring to? |

But, I suppose you need to satisfy your hockey interest somehow since there will be no NHL season this year. |

where can i get 25$ off 75 on staplers
86$ pickup |
I too would like to know about the staples coupon. I would definitely buy one if I can get that coupon along with the $5 off. Until then I am holding off for bare internal drives as I already have an enclosure, but no drives, yet.
|
Get ready for another cancellation.
|
Any cancellations?
|
Damn! I just got that 1TB portable Touro external HDD for $73 a few weeks ago. :(

FYI:
Be aware that there are a lot of issues with compatibility between Windows 8 and Hitachi Touro USB 3.0 hard drives.. |
go through Fatwallet cash back link and it says 4% max cash back.

A few places left for in store pickup, but low availability. |
For those that missed it don't feel too bad. Look at the Staples AD scan. There's another 2TB drive for $80. Not to mention there will be other drive deals come BF. I wouldn't have gotten this unless I had another coupon

Does OM accept competitor (Staples) coupons? Is it a store-by-store thing?
|
Quote:
Look at the past half a dozen deals as your proof. |

I didn't go all the way through with the checkout. While I was doing so it said that a limited supply was available at my local B&M. Does this mean I can stop by the B&M and buy it for this price with this coupon?
|

Yep and the same thing happened with the in store speakers and mice. |

I coulda used this 6 months ago. I fwd this link onto a lot of friends that travel to save all their pics and video. THANKS!

YMMV - $64.99+Tax AC

I ordered with in-store pickup, printed this coupon [chtah.com], showed it to the manager when I picked up my order, he stated that they normally don't do this with online orders but made an exception and credited my card $15. Price paid came to $79.99+$4.00 (Tax) - $15.00 coupon = $68.99 (incl. tax). Huge YMMV though. |
How easy is it to crack the case open and get the HD out. Don't have USB 3.0 and would like to put the HD in my HD enclosure...doable?

he did pickup the item with extra coupon discount. so I think this is good to go. I'm going to pick it up later tonight. |
Got 2, thanks OP!!
When did OM start accepting competitors coupons? They always told me they only price match. |
Quote:
but to answer your question: yes |
so quite odd... i call and they have it in stock at my local store here in PA, but they won't match their online price. Oh well. OOS online and $129.99 at my local store.
|
Quote:
He had one in stock. Would sell at the sale price on internet. OM website now shows only the $139.99 price. Local will no longer sell at sale price; only prices posted on I net. Phooey!! Missed this one! |

its ugly, i chose store pickup this morning and now its still processing, The service guy said we may not have it anymore:(
|
Almost jumped on this. Thank God I didn't. Even with coupon this is so-so deal. Looks like target will bring out 3TB on BF for this price.

I printed a copy of the online sold-out page and took it to the local store. Got 2 at the $80 price. I explained that I was just following instructions to check with local store, and pointed to the ad. Manager quickly approved. Here's a pdf of the page.
|
|
crap! mine got cancel

I got turn down when trying to use coupon. The manager said I can't apply coupon because I ordered it online. Even they refused to apply $5 office max coupon. edit: looks like there will be many great offers for external hard drive on black friday. I think I'm going to return this one. |
Got one in store yesterday. Price matched with no problems whatsoever. I did print off and take in the page when it showed $80. There's other drives coming up on BF, but this was a smokin' deal for not having to fight a crowd. Plus, I have hundreds of dollars in OM ink credit right now anyway.
|
I bought one also. Tried Staples 25 off 75 and Officemax $5 coupon. No go from the "acting store manager".
That said, I see the upcoming $65 BF deal at OfficeMax. Will they price match when it goes on sale? |

Hey guys, I hope you can help. I bought one of these drives online the other day, and I just received it. But it looks like the hard drive has been used. The packaging looks like it has been opened and plastic protector on one side has lots of bubbles like it has been peeled off and put back on. Do you know if there's a way for me to tell if the drive has been used before?
When I plugged in the drive to my mac it wouldn't even let me save files in it because it has been formatted for "Windows NT File System (NTFS)" according to the disk utility. The box says that it's compatible for Macs, so it should work out of the box, right? What do you think? |
Not sure how everybody else's luck was, but I got two of the slower (i.e. not 7200 rpm) drives. Going to try to return them.
|
Quote:
And by the way, would you happen to be using a Mac? If so, were you able to write to it out of the box? |
Quote:
I opened up the cases (not as difficult as I would have thought from some comment on here) and googled the model number. The case actually fit back together fairly easily and snapped back into place. They took it back without issue. Not using a mac, sorry. |
I didn't open the two I got but the thing I do not like on these is they do not turn off when the computer or blu ray player turns off. I am going to return them and buy the Toshiba 2TB Canvio Desk at Fry's for $89.99. This one does turn off when my computer turns off and when my LG blu ray player turns off.
The Austin Fry's doesn't have any in stock but they gave me two rain checks so I am good later this week. |
