Pretty much everyone is selling the 250gb bundle for $200 and the 4gb + kinect for $200. Microsoft is still trying to rob people with outdated hardware.

XxadminxX 11-07-2012 11:20 AM

Yes they are, but I am doing a HT in my basement, and a cheap xbox to keep down there incase anyone wants to play will help.

You don't need to troll every Xbox 360 deal thread.

And anyway you look at it, the 250gb Xbox 360 bundle, as old as the hardware is, is an exceptional value. Just calm down and enjoy the deals.

Huh? OP asked what xbox black friday deals there are and I told him. Someone took the effort to put it in the wiki and it reflects exactly what I said.

This. And the part where you do it in every other thread concerning Xbox 360 BF deals.

So far out of the ads released there are no great deals yet on a basic 4gb Xbox console. Lowest so far is Radio Shack has the 4gb Xbox with a headset for $169.99. Hopefully better deals coming from other stores when they release their ads.

Agreed. For a 4gb model to be worth it to me it needs to be $99 or maybe $129 with a giftcard. That way I can buy a WD scorpio drive and install it myself for about the same price as a $199 250gb bundle - selling the bundled games.

wtfbrowtf 11-07-2012 04:18 PM

dont target have the 4gb for 140?

anybody know if target has online orders or its in person?

That was last year, they had it as a doorbuster, and at 10pm on black friday, amazon had a lightning deal at that price. Sadly deals so far this year don't seem anywhere near that good even. They really should get cheaper.

williamhung 11-07-2012 04:45 PM

I don't get it.
XBOX 360 is supposed to be heading EOL next year. I really thought this BF was my opportunity to grab one for $80ish.
Or even a PS3 for $150
Last year 360's came out down to $100 after GC's.
I guess I'll wait for Amazon to save the day.

Who had it for $140 after GC? Best I could find for last year was $139.99 at target and amazon, but no gift cards, and others charged more, but also no gift cards.

bdlfe 11-07-2012 05:31 PM

Last year, the best deal was Walmart on the 4GB with Kinect for $199 w/$50 GC in store only. Not worth the extra $50 to step into the Walmarts near me.
Too bad no other store matched it as I recall.
If only this year someone can bring out the 4GB for $80-$100 or PS3 160GB for $120-$150...

AAFES had it for $99 last year BF. I thought that was going to be a sign of what would come this year

exactly what I was thinking. I bought a PS3 for $199+Batman Akham City for $199 in March. I since sold it.

Amazon matched it @ $149/150 in their deal box deals .. which lasted for few seconds and I was able to score 2 at that time

hunting for xbox again this year

XxadminxX 11-07-2012 09:44 PM

Just have to keep an eye out! Good luck to everyone in what they are trying to score!!

CaboDeals 11-08-2012 01:12 AM

Looks like Walmart will have the 4GB Xbox white slim console with a Skylanders Starter Pack bundle for $149.
Nice deal, but I dont want a white Xbox. Wish it was black.

dndandrea 11-08-2012 07:57 AM

Here's the deal i bought at target

$349 Halo 4 Limited Edition 320GB XBOX 360
subtract $20 for $20 gift card (or you might get $20 off instead of GC if price matched somewhere else)
subtract $65 for Halo 4
subtract $65 for extra controller
subtract $100 for armor code (selling for more than that on ebay)

Plus you'll get 50% off 3mo xbox live card.

Essentially paying $100 for a better system.
Not really a good deal for people who already have a 360 but for people like me this is great because i'm obviously using everything that is included.

If i bought the $250 bundle i wouldn't be using the 2 games nor could I sell them for more than $10 and i'd still have to buy Halo for $65 and the extra controller is nice to have since i'll be playing multiplayer with friends. I think it's the best VALUE, but it still costs a lot of money. Best way to think of it is you're paying $249 total after you easily sell the armor code and it comes with some goodies. Plus its 320GB and limited edition so better resale value. :)

Not a bad deal, especially with the armor code. The problem is that it is a lot of Craigslist/Ebay reselling to get down to that point. With Ebay you lose 9% on commission.

To me this would realistically be more like

$349.99
-$17.50 RedCard discount
$19.95 Tax
-$20 gift card (is that still valid?), same as cash to me
$50 Halo 4 sold on Ebay after fees and shipping
$50 Extra controller sold on Ebay after fees and shipping
$100 Armor code (based on your observations)
======
$132.44 Great price for a 320gb system, hmm might consider it

I just think the Halo version is ugly...

Asked on another thread, but I think this is where I should have asked RE:

4gb Kinect Holiday Bundle with 2 controllers at Walmart for $229 (ad calls it Dance Bundle)

Anyone know if "DANCE" is a typo or if they added the wrong pic to a new bundle being released with "dance" games?

Where is this dance bundle you're referring to?

Can someone post the gold memberships if you see them here, last year i got 3 months for 7$ at BB, looking for something like that, did not find anything yet..

does this bundle include Kinect also, I am looking for console only without bundled with kinect, extra hard drive etc.

laurasautograph 11-08-2012 10:52 AM

so the best one is Bestbuy? I don't think a 4gb will be worth it because then you need to get a hd.

Stan_Marsh 11-08-2012 11:06 AM

Looks to me like the cheapest deal so far is is the Skylanders bundle at WalMart for $149. The Skylanders starter pack is selling on eBay for $30-$50, so that would bring the console price down a lot closer to $100.

Yeah that's a good deal, but I really don't want to go to Wal-Mart Thanksgiving night.

Don't forget it comes with an exclusive skylander figure that will be worth some money as well.

I think the Walmart "Dance Bundle" may be a missprint. They picture the 4gb Kinect Holiday Bundle in the ad but with an extra bonus controller. Microsoft does offer a 250gb Kinect Holiday Bundle though that includes Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports, and Adventures for $350. Look at it on Microsofts Store page for details:

I hope it's a 250gb bundle as I need to replace my xbox. Tempted to just open my halo bundle.

The RadioShack deal isn't bad either. $169.99 + $30 in RS gift cards + free headset. Avoids the hassle of eBaying the sky landers game.

I'm between the RadioShack deal, the 250gb bundle at best buy, and possibly the $150 wal Mart deal. Maybe amazon will surprise us all.

CaboDeals 11-08-2012 05:15 PM

I'm really hoping Gamestop comes through with a basic 4gb deal. I have giftcards I need to use up there. Last year they had the basic 4gb at $149...so hopefully they will do better than that this BF.

my aunt wants to get her daughter those xbox bundle with kinect.

Im wondering if i can buy that 16GB usb xbox memory stick to add some memory on the basic 4GB model.

is that going to work? or she needs to get the 250GB model?

I don't think you'd need much memory if you're not playing any heavy rpg games that you need to save to your console. Dance Central works fine out of the disc and you won't need to save it to the console to get faster performance. 4GB is a lot if you're not planning on playing a lot of games or downloading a lot of DLC (additional songs). If you run out of space you can always get a USB stick.

*the whole DC1 game pack (all the songs from dance central 1) is about 200MB.

CaboDeals 11-08-2012 08:01 PM

Get the 4gb. You can always add a bigger hard drive later at any time. It easily just slides in the side panel like a cartridge. Or you can use USB thumb drives. If you are just gonna play games off the game CDs, you really dont need a lot of space just for your saves.

Hybrid_Theory 11-08-2012 09:19 PM

Gonna keep an eye on this thread. Looking for an Xbox 360 deal. Thanks guys

For those of you looking at the 4gb but worried about hard drive space, as long as you're willing to put in a bit of extra work, here's what I did:

- Bought 4 gb XBox slim

- Waited for a slickdeal on a 60 gb hard drive, and found one at $25 shipped from Gamestop, exactly like this here [gamestop.com]

- Used a screwdriver and opened up the shell/casing of the above drive

- Placed hard drive into slot in my Xbox and booted it up and boom, 4gb slim with plenty of disc space

Youtube How to Vid on this process can be found here [youtube.com]

Also xbox now supports 32GB flash drives, so a cheap flash drive would be enough to get 40GB on the xbox 360.

soni29 11-09-2012 09:56 AM

Is 4gb enough for playing games like Halo 4, Borderlands and Arkham City. Or will it run out of space, wasn't sure if by default those games try to install something on the xbox or not. Not looking at DLC, just the games themselves.

Halo 4 is the only one that requires an installatoin of 8GB if you want to play online portion. The installation in other games are optional. You can enjoy the game straight from disc.

Otherwise, the Xbox 360 now supports external drives up to 32GB each, maximum of 2 drives for a total of 64GB.

thanks for the response, well i would like to use it online as well, so the external drives are they specific ones or can be any brand?

need cheapest XBOX bundle possible... got the Walmart 4gb kinect bundle last year with gift card and sold the Kinect on eBay for $92 after fees... brought cost of XBOX down really cheap since I used the Walmart gift card on stuff I normally buy... want an add'l XBOX to use as another Media Center Extender...

I was looking at the 149 Walmart bundle but there is no kinect.

Also, Does anybody think well be able to get a bundle like this online?

The white Skylanders bundle is a WalMart exclusive. Most likely available in-store only, but your never know. Some of WalMarts BF deals were online last year, others weren't.

If you want any of the Holiday Bundles, I would bet that comparable deals on those will be available online through Amazon or the Microsoft Store on BF.

Any external drive will function just fine. However, the speed of the drive might slow down the load time, so I suggest a fast 16GB USB drive instead.

CoBrA2168 11-09-2012 05:58 PM

I ended up just getting the Halo 4 Limited Edition bundle now for $350. The resale value for the things included brings the console down to a ridiculously low price.

CaboDeals 11-10-2012 03:30 PM

The deals are getting even worse now. Toys R Us ad just came out and has the Kinect Holiday Bundle with a bonus wired Air Flo controller for $250.
Gamestop is my last hope now for a cheap basic 4gb Xbox console. Waiting for their ad.

That isn't terrible. I'd much rather buy the system and get a $100 gift card though. I don't need any Kinect. Very disappointing so far. I do have a $10 Toys R Us gift card that I've been wanting to get rid of for a long time though.

Its not that great. The Air FLo is wired. Might as well get the Walmart $229 bundle that has 2 wireless controllers.
Im with you though, I dont need Kinect crap. I just want the basic 4gb console at $150 or less.

Amen to this. I am hoping amazon will copy the walmart $150 with skylands deal. But my understanding is the trinity motherboard uses older chips and draws 20 watts more power.

Not sure if this matters or not. But I would rather have the latest chips.

I too just want the cheapest basic 4gb.

I was gonna wait for the Xbox 250GB bundle deal @ BestBuy until I read this... I can't believe the DLC code is going for $100~ on eBay, nuts!

So basically $350 on Amazon with no tax, -$85 for the code after eBay listing fees, -$65 for Halo 4 (already purchased) = $200 vs $200+tax at Bestbuy... for 70gb more in storage, less Forza and Skyrim, which I won't play anyways :woot:

jessestylex 11-11-2012 07:34 AM

I hate when stores try to push bundles on people.

offer the 4gb 360 for $119.99 and be done with it.

i have games and controllers, be cool to have an extra 360 for my bedroom.

I posted this on deals thread, Not too bad for someone who doesn't want to fight BF crowds:
Xbox 360 4gb $159.99 after $10 GC and $10 coupon

Target has the xbox 360 4GB system for 179.99 and you receive a Target $10 gift card. The weekly target add has a $10 off coupon for electronics purchase of $100 valid 11/12 10 PM - 11/13.

This brings system cost down to 159.99.

Could possibly save another 5% ($8.50) with red card purchase.

This would take price before tax down to about $151.50.

Game Stop has the Xbox 360 250 GB in black (not kinect) for $249 - comes with a game...Thats the best deal so far. They have the 320GB star wars version with Kinect for $379 and its a bundle package. We chose not to do kinect because of our small playing area. I see kmart/walmart have the 4GB for $199 on Black Friday, but you'll wait on lines for that! Kmart has great deals on games on black friday for the xbox

Are you saying that the WalMart White 360 is a Trinity? I can assure you that all 4GB consoles are at least a Corona. Microsoft is already pushing the latest hardware (Corona V3/V4) in the 250GB holiday bundles so you can be assured that this "new" white one will be the latest revision as well. I'm hoping to find a regular Corona V2 or even a Trinity for around $150.

What about Xbox live deals? like for 12-month or 3-month cards?

or games like halo 4? I mean, I understand this thread if mainly for the console, but it wont be much fun to play without xbox live (besides the first free 3 months) or good games....

Pretty sure the $35 for 12 month deals come and go at random, and aren't brought in by box retailers. Buy.com on ebay had them for $35 2 times now in the past few weeks though.

Well it has been confirmed (http://www.team-xecuter.com/forum...hp?t=94853) that the 2012 Holiday bundles are at least Corona V3. That white console is a 4GB which proves that it is at LEAST a Corona. Trinitys are all 16MB NAND. Now, as far as which Corona it is, there really is no (sureproof) way to know until you open it, but I can almost guarantee that it will be a Corona V3 or above because this particular bundle is being made for Wal-Mart only. Anything manufactured after April of 2012 is likely a Corona V3 or above.

All of this doesn't matter if you're just going to play it like a normal person. It only matters if you're planning to do a RGH.

ben7337 11-11-2012 01:23 PM

I know there won't be much advanced warning for Amazon, but really hoping they bring home the gold with some sort of lightning deal. Not sure if they'll bring anything, but really hoping. I don't want to have to fight for a 60" vizio and a white xbox at Walmart.

Hey just a heads up for people looking for Xbox Live 12-Month cards. If you have it through Microsoft and pay $60 a year for the 12-month ones call em up and say you wanna cancel your Xbox-Live membership, they offered me a $39.99 for 12-months. This is the price I have been paying them for 2 years now. It's not as cheap as the $35 deals but it saves a lot of hassle.

hammurabi1337 11-11-2012 08:23 PM

Looks like prices are going to be the same or even steeper than last year. Damn.

The best deal will probably be a 4GB console and providing your own hard drive, either by buying a phat drive used and pulling it out of the shell or flashing your own (much more technically involved but cheapest route).

In case anyone wants to try it: http://xnand.com/assemble-a-cheap...-slimphat/

Print out was small and hard to read but the $99 is big and stands out. It was late and young kids working may have helped it being not noticed.

I tried taking a picture of the ad with my phone and showed it to the cashier...they said they'll price match and as the lady went to get the stock in the back, a manager came and stopped the lady from continuing on with the price match because he was aware of the ad...if only he didn't show up, I might've had scored the bundle for $99...will try to find a sucker at another location tomorrow

B&W print out of the back page showing the sale and that was it. No tablet was used and I think they keep the tablets locked up at customer service desk.

Couple of quick questions for Tech gurus here....

Background - I never had any gaming console so I am a novice in this area.....Further, I want to buy a console which could also be used by two small kids age - 6 & 7...

So should I buy Xbox 360 with Kinect or PS3 or Wii?

Also, Does internet speed matter between these consoles as I plan to take this overseas...I won't be playing with other gamer's but would like to play online games (If such a thing is possible on these)...

Any help will be greatly appreciated... Thanks

That is dishonest. Not the SD way.

ianlulz 11-12-2012 12:32 PM

I tried the TRU price match at Target and succeeded, but instead of getting a Kinect bundle I just got a regular xbox, didn't want to push too hard. So not a crazy awesome deal or anything.

I'm sure it varies by the store though, I may have gotten lucky. Their price-match policy is new, and I seemed to know it MUCH better than the employees did. No one but the manager even knew it existed, and even flat out told me "no".

TL;DR: Tried TRU price match, got xbox 360 arcade for 100$ + a 10$ Target gift card, so essentially 90$

ianlulz 11-12-2012 12:35 PM

I tried the TRU price match at my local target and I succeeded. They didn't have any kinect bundles though, so I just got an arcade with a 10$ gift card for 100$ (effectively bringing the xbox to 90$).

Their employees didn't even know they price matched, only the manager knew, and even he didn't know it as well as I did. It took me about 30 minutes of waiting, but eventually they PMed it to TRU. If you're very nice, and a little bit lucky, I'm sure you could get it as well.

Thanks to the OP of the trick for getting me a reasonably priced Xbox :D

TL;DR: Tried the TRU price match, no kinect, got an arcade for 100$+10$ gift card, so 90$ for the box.

No the best deal last year was amazon who had the 4gb w/ Kinect for $150.00 b/c they somehow messed up their lightning deals on the thing and instead of offering the $199 w/ the GC they just flat offered the 4 gb Kinect bundle for $149......now that was sweet.

Also, Does internet speed matter between these consoles as I plan to take this overseas...I won't be playing with other gamer's but would like to play online games (If such a thing is possible on these)...

Any help will be greatly appreciated... Thanks

Do you have a big room with wide-open space?

You will need it in order to use the Kinect.

I would pass on Wii since the Wii U is coming out especially. It's not worth it to get the Wii anymore.

The choice is up to you on 360 or PS3. I've been getting fed up with paying for XBL and paying for silly things from Microsoft that should come free.

Usually I'd always say get the 360 but I'm starting to suggest the PS3 much more. I love the 360 but all the BS they charge for is ridiculous when Sony gives it for free. I'd rather see more people support Sony for doing it right.

Hi advice requested.

I want to purchase a new xbox 360 for my son. He has a early xbox 360 20 GB version. It has had the red ring of death and I paid MS $100 to fix it. But I figure it is time.

Today I purchased the Target deal for the 4GB version $179.99. $10 gift card $10 coupon, red card.

Total with tax after gift card $164.15 (8% tax).

I know this is not awsome compared with some of the manipulations others are doing... but...

Through 11/18 gamestop give $25 extra credit with the sales of a console. I got an over the phone quote for my son's existing 360 and it was $100. This includes the $20 for the wireless adapter (but why would I need this since the 4GB has one built in).

So I have through 11/18 to decide.

1. Keep what I got
2. Go for the Walmart Skylanders bundle for $150 and sell the skylanders
3. Hope for amazon go come through with a deal

Oh and by the way I plan to keep the 20gb. I saw on youtube I can unscrew it from the casing and put into the xbox 360 4gb.

Any advice or anything I didn't think of? Thx.

Went to my local Target and was successful in PMing the 4gb Holiday Bundle from the TRU weekly ad. Even received the 10 dollar GC from the current Target sale.

See it's things like this that is making me fed up with the XBOX360. PS3 doesn't charge for XBOX Live. PS3 never had this RROD problem. PS3 included a blu-ray player while 360 sold some crap HD-DVD add-on for $100. Ps3 and Wii included WiFi with their next-gen consoles, but 360 sold you a $100 crap add-on to get your WiFi. Microsoft requires you to be a paying Gold member on XBOX Live in order to use Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Last.FM, etc., on the console you bought from them. Doesn't matter how much money you've given them in the past. PS3 you get all of that for free without having to pay for anything.

It's really ridiculous. I recently sold my PS3 but now I'm thinking of buying another one, instead of buying the newer 360 like I originally planned. Maybe time to shift my support a company that isn't looking to shake down their customers for them to be able to use every little thing.

It makes me think back to when I bought my original XBOX and had to pay an extra $30 for a piece that would plug into the controller port in order to watch DVD's. You needed a remote to use it, I think I might've had to pay extra for that even.

There is so much more value on PS Store versus the XBL Marketplace, too. You can get great Playstation classics for just $5-$10.

XBOX has some old Nintendo and Sega games for $10-$15. Give me a break.

I only need one game console, and I'm starting to think the only one I'll need is the PS3.

Anyway, the deal you got is pretty good. I don't think you'll see a much better price on it. I think you'll easily be able to get a 250GB Bundle for $200 if you stay patient. I'm not sure if you think that's a better deal or not though.

Ladies and Gentlemen I admit I am a slimeball. But there appear to be degrees of sliminess. Because while I appear to have no problem bending the rules; I feel this is breaking them...

johndoehoe22 11-12-2012 06:43 PM

Yep, this is why the economy is so bad. They call it the "SD effect". People who no longer look for honest sales but just a bunch of con-men.

bluetrep 11-12-2012 07:20 PM

you PM with paper Ad or show them online AD?

ihsviks 11-12-2012 08:18 PM

I used the ad from the Sunday paper. The 2 customer service ladies, electronics employee AND the CS manager looked at the ad and price matched. Not my fault they glossed over the XBL contract info 4 times. I even asked the customer service manager to not include the GC. Was told it's store policy to issue the card with the sale.

No, not your fault at all! If someone doesn't notice you're tricking them then why should you care? Keep on conning them into giving you more! Well-done! Lot of respect for you.

!!!!!

I was able to do this same thing at Wal-Mart on Sunday. I didin't have the print ad, but I was able to pull it up on one of their displayed ipads and they accepted it. Would've gotten a second one for a friend if they had more in stock.
Who needs black friday with anytime deals like this!

So looks like the best deal might be the Frys 4gb with Kinect at $179?

I have to work on black friday but I could stop buy Frys before work and pick it up. Really want to get a 360 again. Don't really care that much about kinect but i would use it I guess.

Should I just go for the skylanders bundle and flip that for money towards Halo 4?

how much is the Kinect sensor "realistically" worth on resale? worth the headache to pay 200 vs 150 and no kinect sensor?

I just want a console and power cord.. nothing else lol

mattraven 11-13-2012 11:34 AM

Any deals just on the Kinect itself? That's what I'm interested in buying, since I already have an (older) Xbox 360. I realize I need a separate AC adapter, but those look to be really cheap.

According to MinecraftWiki.net [minecraftwiki.net], the Xbox 360 version of the game is a base download of 113.21MB. So 4GB will be plenty of space for you to download and enjoy Minecraft! I play on my PC and love that game.

Deals last year didn't really get found out until a day or two before black friday, so you'll need to wait until next wed or thurs for the news. However they had a lightning deal for $139.99 for a plain slim xbox 360 4GB with no kinect, and someone else said $199.99 with $50 giftcard for the one with kinect, but it got messed up and ended up being $150 for 4GB slim with kinect but no gift card. They also had a few other deals, but these are the ones I recall.

Hoping they can at least match those prices this year. If walmart is doing $150 for a bundle and gohastings is doing $150 for a plain one, I'd really like to see amazon do $130 for a plain one or $150 with kinect or something.

NHL22 11-13-2012 12:12 PM

I got the Target price match deal to work for $99 on the 4GB w/Kinect and 1 game. Does anyone know if there's a difference between the version I bought and the holiday bundle with 2 games, besides having an extra game? Is there a physical difference between the consoles? Also has anyone tried buying the 250GB w/Kinect at any store with either the Price Match from ToysRus or Best Buy?

Thanks. I'm trying to figure out what is the best deal for me. I dont know a whole lot about the xbox and its bundles. Best Buys 250gb bundle looks nice, but they sell that now for only 250, so I am only saving 50 bucks. This may be a dumb question, but can I buy that bundle now and then go back and return it on BF and have them credit me the 50 bucks?

I dont think I want the Kinect. And I read somewhere you can buy your own HDD to expand memory if you get the 4gb version. Dont have a Frys or gohastings near me. Unless I can buy any of these online. And I dont really want to wait in line for 4 hours anymore, I used to do that stuff and the deals become less and less worth it.

CaboDeals 11-13-2012 12:39 PM

Fry's deleted from the Wiki. That was last years ad. Still waiting on Frys ad and Gamestop.

I printed the online ad, but they would not want to pricematch based on that. They pulled out their iPads and went online ti verify the pricing. Took forever since they had some wireless issues :lmao:. If you bring the print add it would probably be easier.

That's interesting. The manager's thought process was that the $99 price is for the Xbox 360 bundle "with" the 2 year Live subscription. But he should have corrected this thinking when it is shown with sub at $15/mo. Nice score though.

They were more concerned about their iPads not working right away. Apologized multiple times that it was taking that long.

Holiday Bundle with the 4GB and Kinect plus 2 games. I believe the other bundles would be pushing it too much on the pricing

Go to toysrus.com and click on their current ad. Then go on to the last page (page 12) and you will see the ad for the Xbox bundle in the lower left hand corner. The pricing is good for this week (11/11-11/17).

How did you approach the PM at first? Did you tell the electronics person that you wanted to buy the Xbox 360 bundle, but if they could PM to TRU's price of $99 (while showing the ad printout)? Or did you first ask them if they would PM to TRU and once they said yes you asked if they would PM the Xbox bundle for $99 and you showed them your printout as well?

Can you give details on how you went about doing this deal?

So they basically price matched an Xbox 360 "on contract" similar to cell phone sales? That's like price matching an out of contract Android phone for 2-year contract pricing by just bringing in an ad.

Wow you guys have some stupid people as managers at your Target. You flat out conned them!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

SD: Suckered & Duped.

According to the Xbox website, users can return the hardware and cancel their subscription within 30 days, but the first month's $14.99 payment is non-refundable. After 30 days, users will incur an early termination fee (ETF) that will start at $250 and decrease as the two years progress; a user would owe $144 after one year, for example.

Went to electronics and asked to get the bundle. They had to get it from the back. I asked if they would price match TRU and they said in general yes, but it would have to be done at the Customer Service desk. So they walked me over with the package.
Once there, I asked if they would price match the TRU ad. They looked at it and said they need to verify online. So the agent got the ipad and tried to pull it up on their web page. They had trouble with the ipad, so she got a manager. They pull out a second ipad and both try to get online (took about 15 min). Once they are on the TRU page, they did a search for the bundle. Nothing came back. I told them it would be in the weekly flyer add on page 12, they finally managed to get it to show up on their ipads. They compared the image in the ad to the box and only mentioned that they would not be able to match the 2-year subscription. I told them not much of a big deal, since I never play online, but don;t want to take the drive to the next TRU just for that. Ring up, voila. I couldn't believe it either, but than again, it's Target. I remember about two years ago, they had some remote cars that were coming in as a new product priced incorrectly in their system and I was able to pick up a $99 toy for $39, just by taking it out of the shelf and walking to the cashier. Remember the guy at the cashier saying: "Damn, that is some nice RC for that price, I need to get one for myself". My response: "sorry, I took all 4 you had"

Do the smarter employees usually work in the morning or at night?:lmao::lmao: Trying to figure when I should take my chance!

No, not your fault at all! If someone doesn't notice you're tricking them then why should you care? Keep on conning them into giving you more! Well-done! Lot of respect for you.

Lot of respect for Target! Maybe they could pay their employees a little more, so they could be more engaged in their responsibilities.

I wondering if going around 11am-2pm weekdays is better or more towards the evening like 7-9pm weekdays to try this.

Assume this going to happen at most for a day or two tops, before they get wind of it:
If your Target doesn't open 24-hours (not sure any do), I'd say go within 2-hours of closing or even closer to an hour before, on a weekday. So I guess I'd say 90 minutes before they close?. If you're lucky, you'll catch a streak of seasonal employees they are training, and a manager who has too many things to deal with to close the store on time vs. seriously consider the merits of your PM request or bother arguing. If you're lucky and you find a manager without a Target pin on their nametag, you've hit the jackpot.

Granted, this was at a Target I worked in high school over 10 years ago--things may have changed since then...

STOP conning and working the system!!:omg:

I'm going to camp out there like an Iphone launch. I doubt their employees are firing on all cylinders at 8am. From this thread it sounds like they may even be tricked into thinking its BLACK FRIDAY:lmao: Anyway I'm sure their management team will start spreading the word quickly and put a stop to this so the sooner the better. Plus if it does not work in the AM try the PM, either there will be a different staff or they will be to tired to care.

Well we have both Targets and Walmarts to try this at. Ya I agree that it is best to do it now if you will be doing it since word will spread and it will be stopped soon if not already at some locations.

The smarter ones are there during the day, IMO even at 8am. Don't even bother on the weekend. Not surprised you got shot down 3 times. Yeah...definitely around 90 minutes before they close. Maybe 60 minutes will be better actually. That's when the cashier manager would be dealing with closing out registers. Last thing they need to deal with is spending too much time at the customer service desk.

DO NOT GO TO WALMART!!

http://www.destructoid.com/xbox-3...7265.phtml

The deal that started at BB expanded to WalMart last month. If you try it there, they'll laugh their asses off and tell you to get the hell out of their store:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I've found the print Toys R us ad that was mailed to my house, i get paid on the 15th and have both a target and walmart on the way home...With Toys R us being way out of the way....

Think i'll have any luck if i arrive at 7pm on the 15th and claim i was hoping they would price match so i didn't have to go all the way to Toys R us?

(haha, if i get this, i'll now have a Xbox 360 a Flat Screen mount and STILL be hoping to score a flat screen on BF)

Read my prior reply about NOT GOING TO WALMART. You also better do this asap. Don't wait. Make up some story about how if you go to TRU, your "kids" will know when you bring the shopping bags home.:lmao:

Do all Targets make you go to CS to do the PM or can they do the PM in the electronics department? I thought people were able to get the PM done at the electronics cashier where they just override the price to the PM price.

Company policy is that you have to bring the ad to "Guest Services" (yes at Target, employees have to refer to their customers as guests):

https://corporate.target.com/abou...ce-promise

Simply bring in proof of the current lower price and we’ll match that price at the Guest Service desk.

Amazingly enough, they don't exclude price matches for Xbox 360 purchases requiring contract, just "Contract cell phone plans and devices", and the TRU ad is too vague since it lacks the "with 2-year $14.99 Live commitment" verbiage.

Oh gees...

Is this deceitful on our part? Or is this an honest price match of the Xbox console?

Under the list of excluded items on Targets price match terms it says: "Paid membership club or paid loyalty programs (e.g. prices that require a club or loyalty card that is associated with a membership fee)" So this might be a loophole, or this could arguable fall into this category.

I want to try this at my local Target this week, I just don't want to feel like I'm stealing from Target because of the stupidity of the store managers. One side of my brain is telling me that TRU, WM, and BB are offering the xbox hardware for $99 so Target should honor that price. The other side is telling me that there is something fishy here and that taking advantage of someone when they make a mistake is one of the reasons why the world sucks.

Thoughts?

MrTvguy 11-14-2012 11:32 AM

Its stealing in an indirect way.The other stores are getting a kickback like when u get a contract cell phone.

It is dishonest, as you are not price matching apples to apples.
It is not worth to me, cheating.

Anybody try this PM at a Connecticut Target with success or failure?

Unfortunately I think I agree. I'm thinking about going to my target and asking for the price match but i'll point out the xbox live contract. If I'm honest about the stipulations and they still match it, I won't be cheating them.

Though, arguably, the impetus is on them to really decide if the ad that I offer them fits their price matching policy.

jshanson04 11-14-2012 12:29 PM

Tried to price match this last night. They wouldn't because the 360 in the TRU ad wasn't the same as the 360 they had in store. Same 4gb setup with Kinect but wouldnt do it it cause it had a different game pictured on the box. I tried to tell them its just a picture, the system doesnt come with a game. They wouldnt budge. They were of the lower intelligence though so I'm not surprised others have had success with this.

Did you use the online printout (color or B&W), actual TRU ad, or showed them on your phone? What version was the Target one and did it have 2 different games than the TRU one?

Best bet is the original newspaper flyer. It is the holiday bundle with Disneyland game and Kinect Adventure game. The DCPI for Target is: 207-21-0014

A friend of mine just tried to price match at the same Target I did. She was greedy and wanted 2 though. They turned her down.

But, listen to this, she called Target Customer Service (the 800 number) and they gave her a case number and said their stores need to price match and they cannot limit it to one unit only. They told her to go back to the store, take the case number and have the Guest Service call them once she is there, and they will tell Guest Services to price match.

She just left, I will report back if she gets them or not. If so, there is an official corporate blessing on the price match.

That's interesting to know. So she took the actual TRU ad or printout at first? Were they gonna do the PM if she just wanted 1?

inoodles 11-14-2012 02:53 PM

I was able to get one today after trying for few days. I ask the guy working there for a xbox 360 with kinect 4gb and the guy went to the back and got it. I showed him the toysrus ad and ask him to price match. He said no problem with the price match and suggested me to get some games too but turned down on spending any more money for games. Check out with $109 after tax.
