You think one could buy this now and then come back in and get a refund for the diff?
|
Anybody know what internal drives these have and if the cases are easy open?

average up down reviews...might be best to wait longer & spend more on a WD drive.

This looks like the same HD the was part of the (Tue. Nov. 7) 4 hour OM sale for $80 http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/8...hard-drive I'm glad I decided to wait for the BF deals to be posted I have $50 in rewards and I need a new HD so I'm looking at this deal. I like the USB 3.0 & 7200 rpm, I don't like the only 1 year warranty and it looks like it hard to open the case to take out the drive without beating it up. The only reviews I found are these: http://www.amazon.com/Touro-Deskt...ewpoints=0 http://www.jr.com/hgst/pe/HIT_0S0...TabReviews |

Both of Hitachi's 2TB lines are excellent. In my experience installing thousands of drives into RAIDs every year the HGST 5K3000 2TB has the lowest failure rate of any consumer drive (and beats a lot of enterprise drives). The 7K model is in the same boat, having failure rates lower than all of the WD lines I've dealt with (though the Reds might beat them out, but I haven't gone through enough of them to say). These also RAID exceptionally well for consumer drives.
5400 vs 7200rpm depends on the specific Touro. |
